At BNR, we used to like to take up the tiles witht he robot guidance on them and swap them around so that the mail robot would go into a coworkers cubicle. Well, the coworker wouldn't like it.
A lot of people are slamming this thing, but personally, I think it would be very good to have this in every karaoke machine. I know I'm no perfect singer, and I've sat through some terrible songs. This could cure all that.
AOL bounding the messages from my home SMTP server because it is on a cable modem IP even though it is locked down.
Does anyone know how to set up exim so that if I am sending to AOL, that it will route via my ISPs SMTP server? I don't want all my SMTP traffic to go via the ISP's server, just that which has aol as a destination?
Even just a link to a good exim manual that his this would be nice.
Ancient history doesn't matter as to determining whose land that is. Palestine was to become a country as a result of the Ottoman Empire dissolving (after losing WWI) and the British tried to give it part of it over to the would be Palistinians. The Israeli's declared independance and illegally took it over. This is from the UN's history of the Palestine problem. There are many sources that show how Palestine was supposed to be a larger state than just the West Bank and Gaza strip. Why is this even an arguement?
These aren't incredible times. This has been going on since the beginning of the last century.
We should ask what our roll should be, but it's important to know what our role has been.
No, he's saying Microsoft is under the forcible confinement of the U.S. Government (due to the outcome of the trial). Only in Soviet Russia does Microsoft have the Government under duress.
Of course, the extend of the confinment is laughable.
The reason why it was a technical breakthrough on the PC was because game oriented machines like the NES and Amiga had graphics primatives (like sprites) that made sidescroller easy. Standard VGA doesn't have hardware sprites, and thus needs a lot more trickery to get it to work on a low speed machine.
When I look for a candidate, being a PhD is impressive, but it doesn't say a lot about how well you would work in a corporate environment. Deadlines and attitudes can be different at a company than in a university setting. While interviewing one PhD, it was apperent to me that he wasn't used to a very fast paced schedule with indefinite requirements.
Basically, you're going to have to start at the bottom like any other college grad. I wouldn't worry to much about it much though, once you get out here, you'll prove yourself pretty quickly and be fast tracked as far as raises and promotions go. Just don't expect the PhD to land you even 80K (in florida) out of the gate.
One thing you should be aware of is that if the rewiring is done improperly such that it effects your neighbours, you will be fined, unless you get a licensed electrician to do it (it which case, s/he will be fined). Friends of mine were fined $3500 because they had a husband of a coworker do it for "cheap".
Actually, for revolving credit, it's over 75% that is bad, and it takes about 2 months from when you pay it for your score to go back up. I just fixed my creditup to refinance my home
You are probably right that he never said "for us" in that phrase, but unfortunately there is a lot of press that claims he said it. Considering that the difference is more subtle than "I invented the internet" vs "As a Congressman, I took the initiative to create the Internet," and that the phrase is being repeated by both pro- and anti-Bush articles, it'll probably be as difficult to erase from the collective minds as Bogart supposedly saying "Play it again, Sam" in Casablanca.
Not that I'm stopping you, this kind of thing irks me too.
It's not a matter of prosecution, it's a matter of when this guy tries to find a job, epople are going to remember him as a media whistleblower. I'd understand if there were illegal activity going on and blowing a whistle, but giving financial details of an ex-company to the press is not a good hiring indicator to me. There is no way I would let this guy be a CTO again. Even LAN admin is risky.
I did have a side note to no retraining costs onthe wine option, but I feel that there could be significantly greater labour cost reduction by having an application (GIMP) tailored specifically for whatever it is Disney is using Photoshop for (an example feature could be an add-on that allows a user to create a "font" for use for a promotional poster, but only the letters they need at the point sizes they need). In addition, GIMP could be made to be more like Photoshop in look and feel to minimize retraining costs.
I'm no GIMP fan (horrible horrible interface), but I do think there could be a ROI on Disney improving the GIMP over Codeweaver's wine plugin. With win, Disney has to pay licensing fees for Photoshop, which with the GIMP is does not. Given enough studios collaborating on a GIMP improvement (in this case 3 collaborated on the wine improvements), the costs can become marginal with the gains phenominal (there is a lot to be said for being able to customize your graphic tools to your verticle market's needs).
Of course, the flip side is that by improving wine, you get more than just Photoshop running under linux, which can have a bigger ROI if you can convert over deparements other than creative. Plus, there are no retraining costs.
Gauntlet: Dark Legacy is a great game just for the multiplayer fun. It's the only one in my library that I still play right now, and it was one of the games I bought when I first bought my PS2 two years ago. Warning: the game isn't great on your own, but with friends it rocks.
For those that don't know, on linux you can use the loopback device to encrypt everything under a mount point. The files all reside within an signle encrypted file which "loopback" mount to through the decryption software. You can have your computer boot normally and then mount/unmount as you need access. You have the option of several well known open encryption systems. If you or anyone else cuts the power to your machine, there won't be access when it boots (unless you put the decrypt/mount commands and password in your startup, which would really defeat the point). Here's the read me.
That joke is so 2001. I would hae laughed if they ACTUALLY FOUND SOMETHING there.
Even I thought there were chemical weapons. Seems like there was just zip.
Not necessarily more dedicated. I'm willign to spend more on a game because I get more hours of entertainment from it.

Can you name the truck with four wheel drive,
smells like a steak and seats thirty-five..
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Well, it goes real slow with the hammer down,
It's the country-fried truck endorsed by a clown!
Canyonero! (Yah!) Canyonero!
[Krusty:] Hey Hey
The Federal Highway comission has ruled the
Canyonero unsafe for highway or city driving.
Canyonero!
12 yards long, 2 lanes wide,
65 tons of American Pride!
Canyonero! Canyonero!
Top of the line in utility sports,
Unexplained fires are a matter for the courts!
Canyonero! Canyonero! (Yah!)
She blinds everybody with her super high beams,
She's a squirrel crushing, deer smacking, driving machine!
Canyonero!-oh woah, Canyonero! (Yah!)
Drive Canyonero!
Woah Canyonero!
Woah!

I loved descent because it natively supported my vio goggles

Dude, Geico can save you 15% or more.

If I were a CEO, I'd just jump all over the opportunity to hire a CTO that blabs company laundry to the press after they leave.
In bizarro land.
RIm is still allowed to sell to the U.S. for now. The injunction has been stayed. I'd still sell my stock, tho.
Well, I've done custom app work too, and I disagree.
:)
So nyaah
