What about a Movie DVD that has a computer game on it that can be played in a computer? Or a DVD that's for your DVD Player that is a game.. Like space ace and alike?

They can be both, and now adays, they usually are?

Like the ones that have stupid little games in the menu.. that's not part of the movie, and I would cosider it software.

I used to work for MediaOne.. They ALWAYS hated giving out these vanity hostnames, not sure why. They've been trying to phase them out forever but keep getting complaints, that's why they're still available. My guess would be that they would dump them.

Why is this an airport killer? The airport base station is easy to configure, easy to use, and the new one even has a trusted lan connection that you can set other permissions to. There's windows/linux software to configure it.

Why would I run this linux thing over the OS that's already on the Airport, an OS that's specifically designed for this operation.

Yes, but the point that the poster was trying to make was that when his CD no longer works in the current player (it being UMG-Player for WinXP) He should be entitled to the same song in the new format. How is that any different from me having an 8-Track and my 8-Track player breaking for whatever reason.. since I can't just go down to radio shack anymore and buy an 8-Track player. So my software (8-Track) is no longer compatible with any of todays players (cassette, CD, whatever).. Should I have my entire 8-Track collection be replaced with cassettes becuase the 8-Track is not obsolite?

Well, what about 8-tracks? Oh, I got this great new 8-track player and tons of 8-tracks!

What happens then? You didn't get a big package from the record company with a copy of all the stuff you had on 8-track on a cassette tape did you?

the IR for data transfer and the IR for controlling your TV are in different parts of the spectrum, that's why you Visor and most Palms for that matter don't do a good job at controlling your TV. You can get an IR transmitter for a Visor that fits into the springboard slot that's in the correct part of the spectrum.

Also, as far as Windows being pre-installed.. Who let it be pre-installed? The person selling the computer. They didn't have to have an OEM deal with MS, but they decided to.. You don't like it, buy a computer from somebody that doesn't have an OEM deal with MS.

It just seems silly that all the geeks are bitching about common ideas on patents now when common stuff has been patented since the beginning of patents.
