Don't worry too much, if the authorities are going to arrest people just because they have bought something that in one way or another violates an IP, they should just declare the whole Earth as a prison. For all I know my travelling mug could be violating some.
On a related topic = I can't believe our Comelec is advertising this thing, a few months ago they don't even have a feasible electronic voting solution. I remember that they got a "Diebold" like deal for use in the last national elections but we know that the expensive machines had been now rotting in warehouses (and never had seen the light of the day, that makes Diebold more succesful). There are even local programmers/firms who are willing to "donate" their services just to make the election electronic but I guess that did not work out.
And I still don't have that promised "Electronic Voter's ID" when I registered at 18 (I'm in my 20's now). Now, how could they validate if I am the one who had casted my vote.. Hmmm...
As I said, nothing to see here.. move along.. I'm going to make some coffee...
When I read the title and the submitter's summary, I was expecting to read something in the lines of "Network Engineers putting fires out in D&D instead of improving their networks." But when I RTFA, I didn't even get the analogy but I know that the talking dog had eaten the troll back in that cave.
It seems that nowadays, no "official" solutions are posted. (sorry if I am wrong) Solutions usually come from universities who managed to solve them. Well, it would be better that way since we would have something to practice on.:D
Would the slashdot community come up with the solutions and post it here?:D
In my case, it's 6 months but it's a little forgiving since a specific industry was clearly stated. (my case: bpo) Although that still limits my options since our competitors are also one of the better places to go in case I would like to find another job.
I know people who work in an "all purpose IT Company" that offers services ranging from outsourcing programs to supplying servers. They got a 2 yrs non competing period, the funny thing (because it's not me) is that my friend can't find an IT job anywhere since it would violate the agreement. He "had" to work in a non-IT related field, I just bid him good luck.
"Porn to me, replicates what happens in real life...in the real world."
Are you sure? IMHO, it's equivalent to saying that CSI / TV-Drama's replicates what happens in real life in the real world, but in a more exagerrated way.. And by exagerrated, you would know what I mean. O wait,.. this is slashdot.....
IMHO, I find these morals good in a sense that I would prefer living in area where such good morals are upheld than in one where it isn't. It brings a sense of protection for me, my family, etc...
You see, employees are really hoping for company provided iPhones in exchange of their company provided BBs. Brilliant!!!
Although I for one would not want a company owed communication tool.
Recently the development of SimCity Societies were given to Tilted Mill.
I see, they're going to release this expansion pack that makes Sims grew aggresively...
"Maybe" /. is next. We had after all linked to the (not-so) recent article. (and linked to the blog, and to the notice and to an older /. article)
Let's see if they would make a threat...
Hmmmm.... Okay then.
*goes back to reading Penny Arcade*
*and hides...*
so do I... but what I really care about is that the blog lacks Cute Ponies 2.0 (tm)

Good Cached Text :)
I believe the fire captain is playing.. errr.. beta testing Sim City Societies, I swear I could see the Firefighter dispatch tool...
Well I believe so, unless you got that Express edition where you are not allowed to even duct tape a flashlight to the seat.
I agree with the parent but lucky us...
From TFA
Ikram: "We'd be willing to pay a little more for ads if you can get us some articles on ******"
******: "Ok, I can help arrange that."
Since we all know what **** is this shouldn't be that hard...
You would never run out of invisible ink.
Seriously, nothing to see here, move along...

Regards,
Haven't heard of GMail Paper yet?
"Reader gyges writes in to tell us that the Washington Post has picked up a piece he wrote about cut-and-pate plagiarism:..."
Define:pate in google comes up with this = "liver or meat or fowl finely minced or ground and variously seasoned"
Ahhh... I'm not so sure if Chefs could plagiarize this though...

*Timer starts now*
So we could see the launch of new satellites and spacecraft that conforms to this Draft 1 by next year?
*hides*
Well yes but I'm not very optimistic about it because...
from TFA: "But the dresses have to be kept wet, says Cass. Once they dry they become like tissue paper and can easily tear if the fabric is too thin."
It would now become "dry t-shirt contest". The portable hair dryers at Home TV Shopping suddenly sounded great!
There are chairs on both Page 40 and Page 43. That might have confused him although I believe the chair on Page 43 is not designed to be comfortable.

And yes, such things are crazy.
Easy, reply to this and type the words "I want a cute bug picture. Now. \."

I agree, war is about people.
Would we stop fighting after the robots are gone?
If the answer is Yes, I would like to propose that a Counter-Strike or Battlefield Tournament be held instead.
Seriously, I believe that these kinds of robots are much more suited in police work like capturing individuals or such...
It is a great tool in my opinion and easy to integrate with existing ASP.Net applications.
.Net 2.0 was the Ajax Control Toolkit (separately available w/ source)
