This is quite true. When I got my BS is CS, I had to take a class on Ecology. Yea, ecology, who gives a crap about it? So I had to write some stupid liberal paper on how some poor cute owl is losing its habitat or something meaningless like that. Anyway, I googled the animal and found a nice essay which I didn't copy word for word, but pretty much used every fact on that paper I could find. The professor was smart enough to do the same thing and pointed out to me that it was obvious that I just googled and got all the info from this paper, so I only got a B- on the paper.
I think nowadays it's perfectly fine in America to say something that offends most everyone, as long as you don't offend any minorities, then it's a hate crime.
Yes, Justice. The company was testing out the software they were installing for the DVD, while doing that they saw that there were child porn videos. The company has an obligation to humanity to tell the authorities, this person is promoting children being sexually abused, give me a break if you don't think it's justified. Should they be allowed to just randomly search your drive, no, not really. Still if they find something like that, they should report it and it should be usable. If you don't like it.... DONT LOOK A PICTURES OF NAKED CHILDREN YOU SICK @#$@#
Well, he made a promise... At the end of his previous book he said that most of the work for the next book was already finished and he was splitting it into two books. He said that IT WILL BE PUBLISHED NEXT YEAR! This was in 2005. Ok just 4 years later and still nothing, it probably won't come out this year either!
This is more than a software issue though, when it gets to services such as newspapers, this is where more problems come into play. Lots of people losing jobs at newspapers and whole businesses going under because of the flux of online news sites, many of which just repost stories written by newspapers and sometimes have conflicting information. What can you do about this though? Nobody wants the government to regulate all of this, but what can be done without it?
in addition to the fact that the mowers would be transported to the site which would cause carbon emissions, mower engines are extremely inefficient and moving the area would most likely release more carbon than transporting the goats back and forth 100 times.
Microsoft would probably have no problem giving it to the public, but nobody would want to use it. Everyone whines about security, then they get it and they whine about having to click "allow" or "accept" on popup boxes. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
Or how about a program that adds fuzzy noise to CDs so that they sound like records. what a dumb idea to make things look/sound worse, nostalgia is just plain dumb.
Who really cares anyway, why should they ban it? They will see you at the interview, so they know your age, disability and race. If I were to hire someone, I would like to be able to see that on their facebook site they claim how much they love Osama Bin Laden or something like that. What's the big deal? If you are so ashamed of who you are and don't want your employer to find out then maybe you shouldn't blast it all over them internets.
Consider projects like the imageio. I believe this finally made it into the JRE (not positive though), but it is extremely slow. I tried using this for processing TIFF files and it was 50 times slower than anything else I tried.
Just wait until Al-Qaeda gets a hold of this technology
a while
I don't get why they want to keep taking food and burning it in engines when there are so many starving people.
What is twitter? Is that some new web site or something?

I am a descendant of Adam, and since the bible was written about him, I should get royalties on every Bible sale!
This is right up there with that politician who wanted to sue God.

I'm sorry, but if you need a cartoon to teach you about technical things like databases, you are pretty pathetic.
Now they are outsourceing our jobs that usually get outsourced to illegals to animals!!
