  2. 25 Hours of complete Hell on Are You Using SPF Records? · · Score: 0

I completely dislike SPF... I had to enable them when completely legitimate emails, from the company I work for, were blocked by SPAM Haus. The emails we were attempting to send were ALL properly solicited emails to customers that were using Yahoo and MSN / hotmail / live accounts. These email / webmail providers chose to use SPAM Haus Spam filtering and would bounce every email back. It took me almost 25 Hours to identify the problem and present a solution to my boss, who had to approve the change before I could add it to our mail servers. Also, I have to say that Microsoft surprisingly was very helpful and was able to assist me in identifying the problem ( well, after I was placed on hold for 3 of the 25 hours ) . So long story short I was quite mad about having a boss breathing down my neck to fix our mail systems while I was on a much earned and deserved vacation, since then SPF is still the bane of my existence and I would never have chosen to use it if I hadn't be made to.

The system you are referring to is and AVL and they do precisely what you describe, the advantage of what the article is describing is more along the lines of know exactly where the officer is not the squad car. Where this is important is if the officer is down, or is in a fight for his life, it allows other officers to know his location and assist him in every way possible. Dallas Police is currently implementing a similar system into the radios with a red panic button, so the officer doesn't have to say anything just hit the button and you'll almost instantly hear sirens blazing for their location.

  5. Re:Shit man, I bet... on Appeals Court Strikes Down California's Violent Game Ban · · Score: 0

You know my whole life my parents have always used the phrase " where do we look to find the body?" anytime I went out with friends. It is a simple statement but makes a huge impact on a teenager that is going out and always made me think about what I was doing and if one of my friends or I could get seriously hurt. It made me think... and it kept me out of a lot of trouble. My parents were always strict, always wondering where I was, what I was doing, I even tried to resist getting a cellphone. Simply put I didn't want my parents constantly in my life. Now I look back and thank them every chance I get, they are the reason that I'm not dead or not in jail, the reason that I never wanted to take drugs and why I always strive to be the best I can be for myself and others. They also gave me the strength to do what I KNOW is right, and they trust me to make the best decision in a group of difficult choices, THEY my PARENTS gave me the ability to choose and learn, and all because my parents made a choice to be in my life and to always be there for me.

Now to put this in perspective with the current argument. PARENTS not the GOVERNMENT should decide what is acceptable, the right of censorship is the PARENTS and ONLY the PARENTS decision. I'm not a parent but I had the 2 best parents, and I love them to death, and I know that I have a solid base so when I do have children that I will have the ability to point them in the correct direction. So the real question is where are the parents, what are the parents doing and why are kids getting their hands on material like GTA, its not the governments prerogative to keep the games and other content out of minors hands it's also not the job of the development studio that creates the game. Its the parents job to censor inappropriate materials from their kids, to force themselves into their child's life and be there before trouble starts.

BTW, since I always seem to get modded down for my responses on here please do so but at least admit my reasoning is solid. And yes I do know this won't stop someone from modding me down, just think.

It's not an uncommon thing to do for Mp3 site and things like that. it means that if someone reports it, the person ultimatly responsible was the person who failed to install proper AV and Firewalls.

In the case above the college frat house child pornography theatre the school is also at fault for not requiring the use of an AV, firewall and probably didn't even require the students to sign an acceptable use policy. Which also explains why the school dropped the case.

I am a AMD fan haven't always been but I took a leap when they first brought out a 64 bit processor. and I haven't looked back since. Also I don't believe that Intel has quite figured out 64-bit on a standard desktop system they still use a Expanded Memory Technology. Isn't this just a 64 bit addressing system that mimics 64-bit?

  17. Re:hyper transport on AMD Reveals Plans to Move Beyond the Core Race · · Score: 1

Intel only started the 65nm technology around may 2006 in their late Pentium D and then continued into the Intel core 2 duo which was released to general world August 26, 2006 at 1:30 pm CST. so even for intel it is a new technology.

The single link is killing them, where amd is using multiple links (the Hyper Transport system) to link memory and the Processor. Also the reason AMD was so slow adopting the newer memories is that they have to practically redesign their entire chip to do so. their memory controller is built into the processoer itself. that is the major reason that they are so slow to release their hardware.

BTW the intel smart cache is very similar to how the Hyper-transport system works. the design flaw with intel is that there is only one link between the processor and the memory controller and the memory controller is not in the proc.

The real problem is that yes the older Li-ion batteries had more power and densitiy that means when they go --boom-- they cause more damage and have a potential to injure more people. I think sony is smart changing to a battery that is more stable, its the only good thing I can say about sony right now. I'd kinda like to see those four letters burn for all the idiocy lately.

Overall blogs do come up a lot in search engines especially if you google a persons name, they are often found within the first 25 results.
