    Here in Canuckistan the PIN is delivered by mail in a separate envelope several days before or after the card itself is delivered.

    I finally had to install Fall Creators update last night and my Start Menu is configured with garish tiles that I don't want and that I cannot delete. The database of tiles is 'corrupt' and the repair tool refuses to fix it.

    I want Windows 7 back not Spring Creators update. I want to get work done not be 'Creative'.

    What is even more damaging is CNN's and Foxnews selection algorithm. The algorithm used to select headlines and editorial content by The New York Times and Washington Post are also damaging. In fact all of mainstream media could be said to have the same affliction.

    With Mao's one child policy in effect for so long and the preference for male children China now has a huge imbalance between marriage age men and women. Expect to see warfare break out in the streets of Beijing. Or maybe this Economist hypothesis is not worth the paper it is written on. There are plenty of women in other parts of the world. Why not travel to find a bride?

    Proton Mail is hosted in Switzerland has end to end encryption with Android and IOS app support and has withstood denial of service attacks from suspected state sponsored hacking.
      Just the fact that a state actor tried to take them down is a reason to consider them.

    The same can be said of Apple. Compal, Foxconn, Pegatron, and Wistron do all the manufacturing and just licence designs from Apple. Does Apple have their own Fab to make chips?

    This has been the case for many years. US Border Control agents clear airline passengers at Pearson Airport before you get to the US departures area gates. (Has nothing to do with Justin Trudeau. )

  16. I received Windows 10 updates on my laptop again yesterday. Took me 48 minutes to get my machine back. Booted into Blank screen that would not display anything. The cursor was gone. I finally figured out it was defaulting to a page off screen somewhere. Had to google for a fix on another computer.

    There is a problem in my opinion and denial won't get it fixed. Sure you need to renegotiate keys with a new device but it should not happen automagically without your knowledge. You should have to do it manually and it should not be done for you based on an assumption and all your messages be resent with the new keys.

    They screwed up the Grand Cherokee when they put that silly computer mode that shuts off the engine at stoplights and starts it again when you take your foot off the brake. Mopar starter motors are scary enough when you only use them once per trip.

    So I'm still getting used to this but so far... Turned off all the tiles and Cortana and do dads and gegaws so its much like the old Win & that I upgraded. Can't see what all the fuss is about. It seemed a little snappier until it overheated this old thinkpad several times. I had to crank back the CPU usage to 70% and now just as slow as Windows 7 was. Meh why bother.
