I've always known this because I'm the smartest
See subject. I always knew this you ne'er-do-well. I have proven on hundreds of dates that cutting chloroform with lavender is effective. I am the most effective rapist in nine counties, and this blog that I randomly link proves it. If you can't see it, then congratulations, you are one of the dupes I've suckered into running Host Files Engine Mal-ware 1.0.1.2.0.0.1.3

Re: Not Worried
I was skeptical, so I looked at your website .
Very impressive and good looking! But I'm biased since it looks so much like mine.
-
Re:it get worse...
You also want to go into about:config *before* opening a connection to the net, search for "google". Replace everything with http://127.0.0.1/
Because this new tracking protection and scam-site and malware prevention they have relies on google - making it a joke, really.

Hey. I just visited your web site.
I think it looks terrific! I might be biased, though, since it looks a lot like mine.

I call bullshit, This IP, is bulletproof.

Re:NO! Not my IP address!!!
In my brazen, younger days, I used to publicly dare people to hack my site

He should have told him to point his browser to http://127.0.0.1/ for an insightful article on non-routable IP addresses.

There's a better way to handle this
Just install AdBlock Plus/Edge, remove all filter lists and then install custom made local filter lists using a file URL object
Those custom made filter lists do not contain lines with @@ or @ signs (whitelist entries) and modify the header to not contain an update URL except 127.0.0
Example:
[Adblock Plus 2.0]
! Version:
! Title: My private blocking list
! Last modified: 07 Jul 2014 08:31 UTC
! Expires: 400000000000 days (update frequency)
! License:
! Please report any unblocked content or problems by email or in our forums
! Email:
! Homepage: https://127.0.0.1/
! Forums: http://127.0.0.1/In this case ABP is not able to replace the changes you made and you're able to modify the list using a text editor. And the list doesn't contain whitelist entries.

Re:Full Disclosure can be found on oss-security...
Here's the exploit:
curl -A "() {
:; }; /usr/bin/touch /tmp/vulnerable" http://127.0.0.1/test.cgiUser-Agent is copied to HTTP_USER_AGENT with no munging.
For DHCP, dhclient calls several hooks (which are usually bash scripts) when events happen. It needs to pass some information like the new domain name. Passing them via the command line creates another set of problems, so they pass them via the environment. For better or worse, it's a common convention.

Only under the following circumstances
1. He used a standard function or class as cited in the Catalog of Standard Functions and Classes for Professional Software Engineers.
2. He used the standard function or class in a manner inconsistant with proper use as defined in the reference entry for the standard function or class.
3. He used a non-standard function, class, or an implementation that wasn't certified.
4. He represented himself as a licensed, certified professional software engineer.
5. The fault was in his code, and not in the implementation of the standard functions and classes or the language, in which case the implementors would be liable.
Now. Seeing as how the aforementioned publication doesn't exist, the aforementioned license doesn't exist, and no respectable body publishes such a text or administers such a licensing program, we must conclude: No.
Alternatively, the increasingly annoying Betteridge could have brought us to the same conclusion.

Much ado about not much.
Lots of hot air. Mostly complaining about things that don't exist.
The Watts, et.al. paper is a pre-release version that Mr Watts has made available for review purposes. The plan is that internet readers will find errors that can then be fixed before submission to a journal.
If the paper is garbage, then pop over to http://wattsupwiththat.com/ and explain, in detail, what is wrong with it. Mr Watts will be grateful for the help.
Insults and attacks on the paper or its author should be forwarded to http://127.0.0.1/dev/null.
Please also note that Mr Watts is not "denying" global warming (or anything else). He's trying to measure it. Sounds to me like a positive contribution.
The "science" is not settled. You're thinking of "history". -
The beginning of the end
So we are now seeing top-down control of executable computer code.
The last remnants of user-programmable computing have been swept away forever. Fear will keep the local systems in line... Fear of key revokation!

Here, try this one: http://127.0.0.1/admin/docs/spreadsheet-dismissed-110224.htm

Re:Texting vs. Hyper-Texting
The story says Hyper-Texting, yet the title is Texting. I'm confused..
They're not texting to get dates, they're using hypertext transfer protocol to access that great dating site at http://127.0.0.1/
I've heard you can get warez and mp3s there too.

Re:Why is 127.0.0.1 in a class A?
Is http://127.0.0.1/ your web site?
I have to say it is quite nice. But then again it looks a lot like mine, so I'm probably biased.

Re:Just keep
Can't I just keep the CD blank?
You can download the whole CD here: ftp://127.0.0.1/blank_dc.mp3
If someone else has already grabbed the copy, you can always recreate the original on that machine.
If you're a Windows user, just open up a command prompt and type "deltree
/y c:/*" and press ENTER. -

Re:Just more whack-a-mole
It'll be more bothersome, but if DNSes won't be available, they'll just say click here for free viagra!
What makes you think people buying stuff from spam will notice if it's a domain name, or IP address?
Bastards stole my development website!

Re:FTP Attachment?"Here is an example of an FTP attachment: ftp://127.0.0.1/attachment.exe "
That's a link, not an attachment. If it were an attachment, the actual binary of "attachment.exe" would be a part of the email, not a link to it.
-
Re:FTP Attachment?
"What the hell is a "FTP attachment"?
Doesn't make sense."
Were you to have RTFA, you'd have realized that the entire worry is that most links (e.g., to malware, viruses, etc.) in email are HTTP links.
Given that these are the vast majority, some organizations (of whatever sort) only scan for (and thus block) HTTP hyperlinks.
And so some brain farmers find it advantageous to use FTP links, which are neither scanned for nor blocked.
This is a problem (especially for you, since it is apparent they've already farmed your brain).
Here is an example of an FTP attachment: ftp://127.0.0.1/attachment.exe -

END MODERATOR ABUSE
I am replying with this to Uncle Togie. Not only will his post ensure strategic placement of mine, I like the kid. He's got moxy, and he shouldn't lose that. http://127.0.0.1/
...a classic gem!
I have again been the victim of moderator abuse http://slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=366293&cid=21424075. MOD me up to correct this injustice. Mod me down if you think I am a moron. Of course, in the immortal words of PeeWee: "I'm rubber and you're glue, whatever you say bounces off me and sticks to you".
Too many moderators use Insightful as "I agree". Too many moderators fall for unoriginal groupthink and mod it up. People complain about trolls, but the REAL line noise on slashdot comes from the posts modded +4 or +5 that contribute NOTHING to an intelligent discussion. You can't filter that out, and even if you have your thresholds set high, you still see all the stupid stuff that you've already seen. That's why digg sucks and will never be anything but a place for 1338 high-skool haxx0rs. And it's happening here. So I used this account to call shenanigans on sucky posts. I getted modded into oblivion for pointing out truth. I guess that's how it goes. Most of you are a bunch of mindless sheeple.
You know, I once suggested that IQ tests be given to moderators to separate the wheat from the chaff. I think that wouldn't help. I kind of like having idiot moderators. MORONS! DOPES! Bring it, tubers! -
Re:P0rn is FREE!!!BTW, I have an e-card for you at: http://127.0.0.1/ecard.htm and you will need to download a "special player" to see it...
Fix your website... it keeps giving me the default Apache test page for some reason.

P0rn is FREE!!!
Why are people always being suckered in when p0rn is free?! It's almost as if people are responding to a rare commodity, but it's not. P0rn is FREE! Every time I see someone pay for p0rn on their credit card, I feel a little queezy. P0rn is free!! I knew a guy from childhood who I had heard was recently arrested. He had used his roommate's credit card for access to p0rn on the internet! p0rn is free!??!
I'm not going to argue for or against whether or not p0rn is bad or if there is an addictive property or anything like that. I just can't believe people are wasting money on it! It'd be like free drugs, but people still think they should pay money for it.
You p0rn addicts get what you deserve. P0rn is FREE! You don't have to be tricked into accessing it. And if you need a "special codec" then it's probably crappy p0rn anyway!
BTW, I have an e-card for you at: http://127.0.0.1/ecard.htm and you will need to download a "special player" to see it... -
127.0.0.2, .3, etc. makes tracking sites easierI normally uselocalhost / 127.0.0.1 for stuff that's really supposed to be on my machine.
127.0.0.2, .3, etc. makes it easier to track the source of sites I'm killhostfiling, in case I care - are they stuff from an imported list, or stuff I've added explicitly?
Also, it's a bit more obvious that they're not pointing to the real system.
Then of course there was the famous troll about there being a bunch of Scientology documents at ftp://127.0.0.1/ :-) -
