From a gamers perspective, the main problem with OSX is all the really popular games still don't work with it.

Look at games like Counter-Strike or Battlefield2 - these are two of the biggest online FPS games at the moment, and neither one runs on OSX.

The games that DO run on OSX are generally the less popular kind - such as UT04 and Wolfenstein.

In comparison, the number of people who play CS online is more than three times greater than UT04 and Wolfenstein COMBINED.

Check these numbers out for yourself.

NONE of the top 3 games on that list run on OSX.

That's a major loss for Apple, and things will get worse before they get better as Microsoft pushes DirectX to more and more game developers to lock-in gamers to their platform.

Touting OSX as a gamer-friendly platform is all talk and not much walk at this point - and it will remain so until the most popular, most played games, become compatible with OSX.

Why rely on them to complete the game? God of War begins with the main character saying there's no hope, and throwing himself off a mountain...

I just finished reading a preview of Spore, a new game from the creator of the sims, and it seems like AI in games is about to take another leap :) (messed up my previous post a bit)

Indeed, the Freespace 2 community is alive and well. Check the FS wiki For information about FS2_Open, which added some new graphics and such. It's messed up the whole thing for me though, so make sure you know where your install disks are if you try it, and back up your pilots and such. They also have a bunch of user campaigns and such, but I ended up geting the underdogs version of FS2 and they won't run for me.

Riiiiight. Because if someone is self-rightious, he *must* be Christian. If someone tries to turn the latest "OMG Think of Teh Childaran!!11one" issue into her own personal gain, well, that's just because she's a religious nut, right? I mean, Hillary Clinton is known for being a pawn of the Relgious Right.

Now, I agree that this whole issue has been blown waaaaay out of proportion, and I agree with the author that this is one of the dumbest "scandals" I've heard in a long time.

But let's put the blame where it belongs: 1. Rockstar for putting something stupid like that in the game, and 2) self-seeking politicians who want to leave a "legacy" of "protecting the people from themselves". This isn't a "right/left" issue... this is a "freeedom/government regulation" issue.

Your points stand on their own; why injure your own moral high-ground with rediculous generalizations and unnecessary jabs at religious beliefs?

Is there a website or blog that you would recommend to be the best for Demoscene information? I already know about Scene.org and a few others, but I'm not sure which is the most popular. I first saw the Demoscene mentioned in an article about an upcoming game called Spore. I asked a friend of mine who is heavily into Linux and has been in the computer industry for years. I was surprised to find that he never heard of it. I'm curious about finding any local groups.
