I asked it.
I asked it. It came back with 7.536 hits.
I also asked Googlefight.
In light of the overwhelming evidence, I'd say "Yes." -

Re:Let's Count the PC Mods!

Depends who you ask
I just took a quick visit to googlefight and Linux Desktop absolutely trounced Apple Desktop!
2 690 000 for Linux Desktop, and 1 490 000 for Apple Desktop.
So, depending on how much value you place on amount of hits from a search engine, it looks like Linux has already got a decided victory :)
In all seriousness though, I'm pretty comfortable with the idea of Apple and Linux sharing the desktop scene. So long as somebody beats out MS, I'm happy. -
Re:In other news
Bill Gates becomes popular on Slashdot
According to this googlefight, Bill Gates is more popular than Linus Torvalds on Slashdot. ;) -
Re:Yes, we Americans are horrible people :)
Incidentally, some of these games have a plot many times better and more engaging than GTA. As for the demand on your side of the pond, here is demand for rape and here is demand for incest (Courtesy of Google). They don't look like Japanese sites to me.
And according to GoogleFight, incest porn is more popular than GTA. :) -

Re:Paranews has covered this
Googlefight is great !!!!
some results : vi vs. emacs , gnome vs. kde
We finally have a way to find out who's best !!!!
or worst??? Maybe winning the googlefight is a bad thing .... On one hand, you know that the winner of a googlefight has more support(ers). But on the other hand, maybe is needs more support.
AARGH ! this is too difficult for me. If anybody needs me, i'll be in my room whining about how my pathetic little brain fails me every time i need it (once a month, is that too much to ask?) -

Unix is dead vs. Apple is dead
Unix has been dead or in imminent danger of death according to pundits since very nearly the day it first appeared. Much like Apple. What I wonder is: which has been accused of being dead or about to die more often? Unix has been around longer, so it's had more years to be about-to-die, but Apple probably gets more coverage in the mainstream press.
Googlefight suggests that "apple is dead" is the more popular sentiment. (Of course, this hardly constitutes a scientific survey.:) -

There is only one way to solve this...
google fight!
It's the answer to every problem. -
[OT] a check on "most common"
That's not going to stop people from saying it the way it is most commonly known, as "nine tenths".
I ran a quick googlefight between "possession is nine points" and "possession is nine tenths", and the former was the overwhelming winner (by an order of magnitude). So, it seems you're wrong -- while "nine tenths" is common, it isn't even close to being most common. -
I'll be damned!

Re:Kleenex A Verb?
The more interesting dynamic is what will happen after Yahoo switches from Google to inktomi which they just bought. I think this forces Google to go after Yahoo on all fronts. Google can copy Yahoo's stock chat site without much difficulty. The hosted web mail will not take much either. They already have dejanews and an interface to the advertisers. Yahoo meanwhile have let their catalog grow really stale, I don't know anyone who uses it these days except as a backup to google.
Hmmm... this sounds like a googlefight if I've ever heard of one!
So let's see who wins: Yahoo vs. Google!

Bios vs. browser
At least Phoenix (the browser) beats Phoenix (the bios) if you ask Google.

googlefight?
There's only one obvious way to measure the size of a developer community; ask google.
Linux v. PalmOS ...but just because one is more widely used doesn't mean that it's liked -
