The sexbot's name? Mr. Prostitute.
Movie ref by any chance? Haven't seen that one in a while. "Us Yellowbeards are never more dangerous than when we're dead!"

Re:Well...
The criticisms of Atlas Shrugged come from the liberal media, in concert with their liberal government friends, most of whom graduated from Harvard. They see the book and its ideas as a threat to their concepts of an all-knowing, all controlling government. Much in the same light as was exposed in 1984, Animal Farm, and Brave New World.
Fixed that for you. I'm not sure the fantastic John Landis film from the 70's was telling the same tale as those other works. Though if looked at from a certain angle I suppose some similarities could be found.

Here is a Robin Williams movie along that line:

Watch A Beautiful Mind - don't go for the knockout at the bar.

Evidence in front of their eyes
The Idiocracy that we are getting into is explained by natural selection. Evolution don't need to mean "improvement" for every criteria, and of course, not becoming smarter.
That is only 33% is a good thing in a country like US, but the question asked wasn't exactly evolution, but "humans and other living things have evolved over time", not sure if that rules out creationism or intelligent design, my idiocracy example could be compatible with those (as in change after design/creation)
-
Yay!
Idiocracy, here we come!!
"The years passed, mankind became stupider at a frightening rate. Some had high hopes the genetic engineering would correct this trend in evolution, but sadly the greatest minds and resources where focused on conquering hair loss and prolonging erections."

Re:Seriously?
I know, I know, everyone is going to be dogpiling Mars One for feasability, but... The shoestring budget they'll get out of crowdsourcing and a TV show will launch people into space just long enough to kill them.
Not true at all. It's this kind of scenario. Just make sure you kill James Brolin first or you're screwed.

I'll be happy to attend said Olympics so long as I get to meet Julia Dietze

Re:The story isn't over
They can charge the US what they like. it would never be a penalty, but money for service.
In this case polishing the statue, making some more pictures of it in front of the chines space buggy would be far more valueable. (and adding a list of the challenger/discovery flight crew, to point out the failure of the NASA flight program)
And yes, of course make a 3d scan for a copy/reproduction of it.
And as of the outer space threaty, if someone finds out a way to make a profit from space mining..... well see Iron Sky (2012)

You're surprised by the gay undertones?
I thought that the subtle homosexual undertones throughout the entire series were well known. In fact, they play prominently at the start of the The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, a feature film from 1970. No, it's not a pornographic flic, but a comedic mystery directed by Billy Wilder that even features Christopher Lee.
In my personal view, however, there's nothing homosexual about Sherlock Holmes. Just because a man dislikes women, and prefers the company of another man, treating him as a life-long companion in work and play, even when at the Turkish baths, it does not mean that he's a homosexual. He might like to smoke a pole as much as he likes to smoke a pipe, but again, that does not make him a homosexual. It's perfectly normal and straight for two completely heterosexual males to touch one another's genitals. Just because two men love each other and form a bond stronger than steel it does not mean that they are gay.

Colossus: The Forbin Project
I think there's a ton of CDC equipment in Collosus: The Forbin Project. It has a fairly standard "computer takes over the world" plot line but is a bit of fun as well.
Note the movie trivia entry at this IMDB link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0064177/trivia
"When the executives at Control Data Corporation found out that Universal was planning a major movie featuring a computer, they saw their chance for some public exposure, and they agreed to supply, free of charge, $4.8 million worth of computer equipment and the technicians to oversee its use. Each piece of equipment carried the CDC name in a prominent location. Since they were using real computers - not just big boxes with a lot of flashing lights - the sound stage underwent extensive modifications: seven gas heaters and five specially-constructed dehumidifiers kept any dampness away from the computers, a climate control system maintained the air around the computers at an even temperature, and the equipment was covered up at all times except when actually on camera. Brink's guards were always present on the set, even at night. The studio technicians were not allowed to smoke or drink coffee anywhere near the computers." -
Re:On a less humorous note
There is a good German documentary about Kalashnikov, that I need to watch again, titled "Automat Kalaschnikow": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0254151/?ref_=fn_al_tt_2
I guess all the technical details you mentioned are probably in there. The film is really interesting to watch because it has interviews with the man himself. He comes across as a quite humorous fellow. When they it is announced during the filming that his pension has just been increased, he says, "Bring out the vodka!"

Re:Erase all button
The alternative would be Insulin Coma Therapy, at least for some disorders. Not practiced in the West any more.
The famous mathematician John Nash (depicted in A Beautiful Mind*) was treated with it.
If you suffer from Nash's malady, don't read my current sig.

Re:I'm not surprised
Coming soon to the silver screen: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2335888/. Pretty good timing if you ask me. This is off-topic, but I'm looking forward too se how much blatant product placement they can manage in this instalment. Hamilton 2 was almost ridiculous when they had a Microsoft roll-up randomly placed in a Lebanese airport.

Jason Statham already dealt with this:

Having seen the brilliant documentary Capricorn One, I can assure you: While it might have been taken with a camera, it was clearly of a matte painting, not of the Earth itself.

Re:If Caught...
[Y]ou do know that was a Hollywood production, yes? When have that bunch *ever* portrayed an actual event with any degree approaching accuracy?
Primary Colors? Granted, the real Bill Clinton seems fictional.
Wag The Dog? We live that every day.
Sneakers? Surprisingly accurate about real hacking.
Max Headroom? Just around the corner...about twenty minutes from now, in fact.
Robocop? Could be shot in present-day Detroit. No need for expensive sets!I could go on. Hollywood gets it right occasionally.

Re:Now already?
I think it was the days when Reagan was president and Dallas was best the tv had to offer.
And you think that was bad? At that time, Derrick was on tv too, and that's the image most people had - and often still have - of Munich around the world. They *had* to do something to change their image!

The Bridge
The bridge is also subject of a brilliant TV series featuring a Swedish detective with some serious Asperger issues. Pure Nerd material! (And yes, this is the original, the french/british and the american/mexican ones are the knock-offs).

Re:If they are SO REALLY CONCERN about religion ..
Scenario one) You've only had five twenty-minute cigarette breaks this morning and feel that there's imminent danger of actually having to work for your wages. Religion to the rescue!!! It's prayer time again. Off for a long hour.
Scenario two) You need to enroll an army of willing halfwits to kill themselves to further your own personal political agenda; Religion the the rescue!!! Fire up the hell-and-brimstone speech to arouse hatred of The Unbelievers and pack your new army off to the airport with exploding jackets beneath robes.
Scenario three) Anyone?...
