Damn, he was right after all
The internet is commonly described as a cloud, writes the consumer policy expert and editor at BroadbandNow, but "In reality, it's a series of wet, fragile tubes
I guess this genius was just ahead of his time.
Shame on you, those that laughed at him out of ignorance. Revere him as the god-like intelligence that resides on a plane of thought you cannot even comprehend.

Re:How to make them pay
There are a load of YouTube videos of people screwing with scammers. Some of my favorite are where they manage to get the scammers to lock themselves out of their own computers in addition to just wasting their time. But this kind of thing has been going on for far, far longer. I'm sure anyone of age remembers the P-P-P-Powerbook from back in the day. One of my personal favorites is this similar take involving ANUS brand laptops shipped COD that were actually several boxes full of junk equipment and dead hardware with a shipping cost of several thousand dollars.

Re:Wrongway Orangefuzz
Trump Derangement Syndrome is not a real thing other than a HUGE example of IRONY.
Sorry if you can't enjoy the irony but that sadly is how irony works a lot of the time.
The GGP implied Trump is somehow at fault for a plane crash by a Boeing Jet operated by Ethiopian Airlines and certified by the FAA is somehow Trump's fault because he golfs too much:
Do you guys know who the director of the Federal Aviation Authority is right now? Nobody does, because Trump has never gotten around to appointing one. To be fair, he's been very busy with the golf co-championship and everything, and it probably just slipped his mind.
If that's not TDS, I don't know what is. This is straight up Thanks, Obama! meme-level

The Great Nanny State of California is finally doing something about CVS receipts.
CVS Receipts refers to point-of sale records printed by CVS Pharmacy, the largest pharmacy chain in the United States, which have gained online notoriety for their lengthy form since the introduction of ExtraCare rewards program in 2011.
Yeah, but without CVS receipts, I'd have to buy toilet paper.

Temple garments or bubble-covered swimsuits
Mormon porn comes in two types. One fetishizes the "temple garment" underwear. The other is swimsuit photography covered with a bubble-shaped solid color mask to help a dirty mind fill in the blanks.

Re:Real news is hosting provider kicking them off
It's a very new meme, like only a couple of weeks or so old, that's driving the US Left crazy, see e.g. Know Your Meme on a graphical version of it that also explains the greater context. In short, way too many Leftists are acting like NPCs with a very limited script, a very limited set of responses to whatever rhetorical or dialectical challenges they get from the Right.
It is a little fun to imagine people sending you off on a quest to "Collect 5 codes of conduct" or what have you.
Heh. But that sounds like a job for Gamergators, for while the concept is amusing, such a game would be no fun at all to play. Unless of course that's the start of a greater quest, track down the authors or Inquisitors in their lairs etc. ^_^.

Incorrect. I want everybody to call me by my preferred pronoun: I am Erin Stout, 27, Female, Plural. I share my headspace with several Fictives. My preferred pronoun is "Motherfucker."
If you don't like to use swear words, I will also (grudgingly) accept "Her Holiness" or "My Lady" (if spoken with an accent befitting a peasant)

Re:The truth
Everyone manipulates public opinion. Know what the difference today is vs 30 years ago? Now everyone can leave their own views, input, beliefs and "let the group as a whole" make the decisions as to what they're saying is good or bad. This pulls views away from the elitists, the pundits, the manipulation by the media telling you how you should view something. That control they had for decades is something they've lost.
The most recent meme aka NPC meme is a great example of this. The political left, pundits, media just freak out over it. What's the problem with it? Well the let "claims it dehumanizes people." But...there's a problem with that. Why weren't they being banned from social media platforms when they were screeching that conservatives, libertarians, trump supporters, mad max, doug ford supporters, were all labeled as racist, neo-nazis, sexists, reacists, bigots, homophobes, white nationalists, race traitors, uncle toms, and so on.
I'll give you your answer. Because it struck too close to home. The NPC meme is a satirical mocking of a loud-mouth leftist pundit/politicians point and those who suppor it. It becomes effective to everyone else because a person and look around at the people they draw to them, and then notice how much is full on regurgitation of these same points, in the most stupid way. Usually involving some form of attack against the persons job, family, race, sexual orientation and what not.
Conservatives find this funny because they can and regularly engage in self-deprecating humor. Progressives do not. And in a round of "OMGROFLF" phase, Twitter banned 1500 accounts that were not violating any rule, or policy, or anything else. The reason? Nobody knows, and twitter is refusing to day why.

Re:Cameras are racist dependent on altitude?
Most people Are NOT killed by Police, Minorities, Conservatives, Liberals included.
-
The problem is us.
I can't be arsed to find the source but a wiser person than me opined:
- Liberals believe people are intrinsically good, and that the environment around them makes them bad - whether that's society, the government, corporations, etc somehow they are pressured into doing the wrong thing when their basic nature is to do the "right" thing.
- Conservatives believe that people are intrinsically bad, and that people are prevented from exercising their base instincts & compelled to make better choices by society - whether that compulsion is fear, financial, social, or religious pressures, for example. The fretting about "what the internet should have been" or that we somehow missed the Utopia we should have gotten relies exclusively on that former view, while that reality of the result more or less confirms the latter: that we're little more than deeply-tribal hairless apes, who when out from supervision, generally want to whack off, fling shit at anyone we can call "our enemies" and watch cat videos / "Ow my balls" 24/7.
Greater internet dickwad theory: it's really a thing, but if you think about it explains a lot of behaviors wherever humans gain some anonymity - not just the internet, but their cars, or as a citizen of a massive city.

Re: Web Sites are Tools of Infidels
By the way, how is Alex Jones doing now? Seems like the attempts to "de-platform" him is only making him more popular.
Uh, no, they are now denying payment services to third-party sites like bitchute for carrying his content.
He was a nobody until these new media platforms tried to shut him down, and now everyone knows his name.
Are you kidding? Everybody knew who Alex Jones was. He was a laughingstock, a punchline. They targeted him because people consider him an acceptable target. Now that they have established that they can destroy one independent journalist, they will go after another.

Re:That is so 20th century
Posting AC for very obvious reasons; I wanted to chime in that I have become far more racist against groups of people since the rise of the SJW in 2012/2013 and the subsequent cascade of hatred against the white male becoming a mostly accepted social norm. The notion that "you cannot be racist against white people" or "you cannot be sexist against men" or "black people cannot be racist" is no different than "the negro is unable to control his rage" or "women are mentally unstable and must be treated specially" except despite the non-PC nature there is some grain of biological truth to the previous two statements; read about MAOA aka "the warrior gene" and women's emotional stability under pressure. Seeing white nationalists banned from host after host for "hate speech" (many white nationalists don't even have a "hateful" message in the first place, certainly less so than what the likes of Bonita Tindle get away with) and the the batshit reaction to "it's ok to be white" have made it seem that some political positions in favor of white people is necessary and morally valuable.
As far as I am concerned, if black nationalist and supremacist groups are fine and dandy, white nationalist and supremacist groups should be as well. That's called "equality." But of course, in the new SocJus era, non-whites and non-males are more equal than whites and males. Much progressive, very Jim Crow, wow. -

And apparently you're unaware that what he posted is one of the most popular and enduring memes of all time, even getting coverage in the New York Times.
This sounds unbelievably fucking stupid, just so you are aware. I would suggest imagining how you would explain the finer points of corporate Hitler meme usage to a random person on the street if you want to be enlightened.
-
Re: Tesla bonds
Tesla's stock is among the highest it's ever been. In the past year it's spent maybe 5% of its time higher than this point. A short would have to be incredibly lucky - even ignoring interest payments - to have made money, at current prices. A number of famous shorts such as Einhorn have been facing heavy fire from their investors for their decision to short Tesla (and lose lots of money in the process).
And apparently you're unaware that what he posted is one of the most popular and enduring memes of all time, even getting coverage in the New York Times.

Re:Dog Whistling
It seems to me that most "dog whistles" the modern Left complains about are just phrases commonly used by people they don't like. Most explanations I've seen for them were nothing more than conspiracy-esque rants.
For one example, the Welfare Queen was a real person who had been in the news in the 1970s. It became a "racist dog whistle" after Republican candidate Ronald Reagan used the term to describe a news report he had read about this specific person.
It's much like how Pepe the Frog became a hate symbol after the Trump campaign adopted it.

Re:"hate"
Apparently a picture of Pepe the frog is considered hate by Facebook. We had several people, we think competitors, post pictures of Pepe to our company's page, and Facebook banned us.
Remember that Clinton, the ADL, and the corporate media declared Pepe a hate symbol because the Trump campaign was using it. And no political reporter has considered it a gaffe that Clinton called the most popular cartoon on the Internet a Nazi hate symbol.
-
Re:WTF is a "nothingburger"?
"Nothingburger" is a Trumpisim that he uses for communicating to his rabid hordes of mentally challenged followers when he wants something to be seen as irrelevant. A way of taking any story, no matter how factual and painting it as a falsehood.
Trump appropriated it, and your definition is a bit off.
It was super appropriate because the term originated in Hollywood gossip rags, and TFA is a column from the Hollywood Reporter.
-
Re: As they say in Russia
None of which has anything to do with Trump or Russiagate, moran. Fifteen convictions came out of the Whitewater investigation - but nothing was ever found on the Clintons. It doesn't matter if Mueller finds out that Kellyanne Conway is the real Golden State Killer - if there's no collusion between Trump and Russia, his investigation was nothing but a perversion of the American justice system where investigators need probable suspicion and aren't supposed to have general warrants.

Re:Progress
It's sometimes hard to take these "threats" seriously, especially coming from someone like Brianna Wu, who has proven record of blatantly launched fake attacks against herself before to make herself look like a victim (she has a very long history of this, too). She's probably be right that these are sock puppets and bot accounts, but I wouldn't be terribly surprised if they're owned by her. And her "proof" is posts on 4chan, a site where everyone posts anonymously? Come on, son. That's some seriously weak shit right there, even by her standards.
