Re:Welcome back to 1960's cabling issues ala RS232
The whole "charge cable or data cable" is a mess created by poor quality manufacturers.
They wanted to get in on the high markup market of "premium cables" but couldn't build a cable that meets the USB specs and hence is unable to reliably transfer data. So they just brand it as a "super mega ultra fast powerful charge only cable".USB 3.1 is backwards compatible with 3.0. No need to worry about it, if both devices can do 10Gbps, great. If one can't, why are you complaining that you can't magically upgrade a devices hardware by plugging it in to another device with that capability?

You'll find there have been at least ten legal proceedings against Yelp for this activity, including a class action suit.
I do hope they pay you your $10 for posting that here, though.
No need to try to bother with the "slander" comment. I know they sue journalists and bloggers who mention their business practices. I'm quite immune to suit, though. They are more than welcome to try to sue me. They should be prepared to sue Ken Paxton too, though.

They are formatted correctly.

The fact that you don't even know what a Stride of an Arrayis shows you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.

.... there wont be anything in the processor cache of the machine handling your request, relevant to your request. We are not talking about Amazone (2000)
A good programmer realizes that CPU optimization is only ONE part of optimization.
* Network
* Disk (Seek time, throughput, latency)
* Memory (Cache)
* CPU (Registers)Listed from slowest to fastest -- the slowest access will have the biggest impact if we optimize for that.
> optimizing for the cash made
Maybe you try optimizing for the instruction cache and the data cache instead.
> was the early 1990s.
That would explain why you don't know what the fuck you are talking about. Your optimization information is 20+ years out of date.

Re:A few points to make:
On #1: The POTUS administration yes. But civility says that POTUS shouldn't personally target and attack individual entities. Its one thing if Amazon was in the regulatory cross hairs or had been found guilt of something. But its plain stupid to attack prior to actual legal charges; because it weakens your regulatory bodies' arguments in courts. Additionally, if you don't push legal fronts or they fail, you open up the administration for counter suits. Almost every politician and aid at the hill know this basic stuff... except for one...
On #2: What city doesn't complain that a major business doesn't pay enough taxes?
On #3: I don't think the GP was talking about stock price specifically. Just that Trump's continued assault as POTUS on Amazon will be damaging and this will have an impact on hiring and retention.
On #4: https://www.washingtonpost.com...
Funny to link to the Washington Post. Summary: Trump is highest at 37% change over compared to the last 5 presidents. Reagan was next at 17%. And he lost 6 out of 12 of his top level positions; compared to Obama 1 and Bush 0.
He doesn't have a "little" turn over just like everyone else, he DOUBLED the 2nd up! I doubt we will see this level of incompetence in our lifetime again.

Re:I used to believe games have no effect
Try looking at the explosion of A.D.(H.)D. diagnoses (most of which are in boys), and all the SSRI DRUGS they are made to take to "treat" it and other "ailments".
Let's also take note of what the "symptoms" of ADHD are according to:
In boys:
- impulsivity or "acting out"
- hyperactivity, such as running and hitting
- lack of focus, including inattentiveness
- inability to sit still
- physical aggression
- talking excessively
- frequently interrupting other peoples’ conversations and activities
(sounds a bit like the typical behavior of an undrugged BOY, god forbid)In girls:
- being withdrawn
- low self-esteem
- anxiety
- intellectual impairment
- difficulty with academic achievement
- inattentiveness or a tendency to "daydream"
- trouble focusing
- appearing not to listen
- verbal aggression, such as teasing, taunting, or name-calling
(sounds a bit like the typical (unsedated) behavior of an undrugged GIRL, god forbid)OR we can continue to blame guns.

Re:Huh?
http://www.lmgtfy.com/?q=Kali+Linux
"Kali Linux is a Debian-derived Linux distribution designed for digital forensics and penetration testing."
Kali Linux (previously known as BackTrack) has nothing to do with MSDN other than someone at Microsoft mentioning it now for the first time after 5 years of development that had nothing to do with Microsoft. It continues to be maintained by Offensive Security, an organization with no ties to Microsoft other than teaching people how to break Microsoft products (along with everyone else's). It's certainly not a "Windows offering" any more than vim is a Windows offering.
That said, if you don't already know the name Kali Linux, you probably don't work in infosec, and therefore are probably correct in your assumption regarding the number of fucks you should give about this news. Thanks for sharing with the class.

Well, let's look at it:
How's that $15/hr min wage working for you?
Priced yourself right out of a job, didn't you?
Let me show you how this works out:
Let's say a Caliburger grill cook - a burger flipper - makes $9/hr. This is what Caliburger pays for a "prep" position. It may be more than that; Caliburger pays up to $11/hr for a lead cashier, but we'll go with the lowball.
Caliburger is open from 11am to 10 pm, or a total of 11 hours a day. The fry cook position has to be paid all those hours - not to the same employee in order to avoid overtime, but still, all the hours are worked in that position, so this is a fair way to look at the costs.
That's $9 x 11 hours x 365 days, which is $36,135.00 gross salary costs. Now add the per-employee tax overhead, and you're pretty near $40,000.00 / year, not counting any other costs such as uniforms, cleaning uniforms, liability insurance, employee benefits if any, etc. But you know what? We won't even count the tax costs. So:
The robot costs $60,000.00 (minimum... I presume there are added-cost options, but for $60k you get your burger flipper replaced, so we'll just focus on that.)
Let's look at a 5-year cost comparison, which I am presuming is the lifespan of the robot. That's very conservative in terms of hardware, but let's assume that a much better model will be made available and purchased within 5 years.
o The robot costs $60k x 1
... which is $60,000.00
o The employee costs $36,135.00 x 5, which is $180,675.00This means that in 5 years, Caliburger saves somewhere in the range of $120,000.00 by moving this job from an employee to the robot.
This is at $9 per hour. Not $15 per hour.
Which I've shown here is that the assumption that a raise to $15 / hour is what will create the motivation for a business like Caliburger to utilize a robot like this is nonsense.
The motivation already exists at the lowest income levels Caliburger is already providing. Sure, there's an even better case to be made for a $15 / hour wage, but the point is, the case was already made.
So no, the $15 minimum wage has nothing to do with this at all.

Yes it's like totally retarded to use the name a person has chosen if they've changed their name. Insisting on using their old name is about junior school level idiocy.
So basically, the rule is equivalent to act better thna a 10 year old. If you can't manage that, the problem is with you, not the rule.

Re:Stupid government regulation fail
Sources using exactly the search terms I gave you before
The first page of results has one link that is actually a comparison: Uber vs London cab, and it says the OPPOSITE of what you claim: Uber+GPS was faster.
-
Re:Stupid government regulation fail
Sources using exactly the search terms I gave you before
There are literally three different comparisons mentioned on just the first couple of pages, dating from 2006, 2013, and 2017. In the two directly comparable races (travelling between the same destinations and starting at the same time) the taxi was significantly faster. The third appears to have been comparing the journeys starting at different times, so not a fair test, but the taxi still apparently beat the Uber despite the latter having the advantage in start time.
The first hit there is a study comparing several different London journeys over a period of days, with the taxi also being significantly faster than the Uber on average.
No doubt someone somewhere has run an experiment that had the opposite outcome, but the overall the Knowledge is looking favourable even in recent comparisons.
If you really want to have an intelligent and informative discussion, maybe consider using less swearing and negativity, and more following up on the information people gave you. Not everyone is wasting their time posting stuff they made up on the Internet and lying to you for no apparent reason.

Re:Don't blame it on my neighbors
They do feed the poor. What do you think retired civil servants will be if they don't have pensions? Many of them worked below-market-wage jobs for decades
Government employees average higher pay and better benefits than private sector:
Private sector employees in all industries reported an average salary of $44,600 per year. During the same period, government workers reported an average annual salary of $51,840 -- $7,240 per year more than private-sector employees.
Look it up yourself if you want a different source: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=governmen...
Not to mention what a dick move it would be to promise pensions then take it away when it's inconvenient.
It's a super dick move for well off government workers to take so much when poor people need government services.
