just coralize the link, add nyud.net after the hostname. in this case: http://www.techreviewsource.com.nyud.net/blog/?p=781

Thanks. Now, what to do when faced by...
Based on your corporate access policies, access to this web site ( http://www.techeye.net.nyud.net/business/how-and-why-telephones-are-going-to-get-a-whole-lot-better ) has been blocked because the web category "Proxies & Translators" is not allowed.

Link for the lazy
Coral Cache version, AKA http://www.techeye.net.nyud.net/business/how-and-why-telephones-are-going-to-get-a-whole-lot-better.
AC post not to karma-whore. Remember kids, add nyud.net to a server's name when it's dead, and submitters please do the same before the page gets published.

Even better would be to use the Coral Cache, as the server is struggling.

Deleted entry?
Is it just a problem on my end, or did he delete the entry? (See first link in TFS; I get a 404 now).
Google Cache to the rescue! And just in case, Coral cache of Google cache. :P -
Re:Coral Cache
i know but since http://sol.gfxile.net.nyud.net/dr_gdm.html is already slashdotted, its kinda pointless now since you cant cache it.
-
Coral Cache
why dont people use the coral cache anymore???
all you do is add nyud.net to the domain and no more slashdot effect, e.g http://www.remedygames.com.nyud.net/games/deathrally -

Video with a different Canonical engineer?
As their main webserver quietly melts in the background, please direct your attention to a video here (Coral Cache) that has the exact same title as the url in this article.
This link/video mentions Jerone Young, one of the "main engineers at Canonical" responsible for ARM development.

Slashdotted, or ???
Here we go again. I'm getting an "Internal Server Error", but who knows exactly why the page is down.
Coral Cache link is here,, and it'll theoretically work, well, that is if I can ever get the page to load...
Too bad about RTFA, I guess, for once it looks like I can base my post solely on the summary and not feel an ounce of guilt. Let's see...I don't know much about Pegatron, but if their laptops don't come with a pair of wings and a horse head attached I think I'm going to feel let down.

Re:Needs a mirror?
We need a new instant mirror site for slashdot. Any suggestions?
Coral Cache fits the bill quite well, I have no idea why the editors don't use it. It'll create a mirror of any url you link to and navigate through, and they can take a slashdotting
:)
Follow this link to check out the CCed version of the article.
If you're on Firefox the TADSEE extension provides a handy shortcut to a Coral Cache mirror when you right click a link. -

Coral Cache
Come on submitters, just hit it once before you hit submit, that way a mirror exists somewhere.

So much for that. (emphasis mine)

Coral Cache...for the 2nd time
Here's the letter from Sony.
I gotta agree with what others have said: 2 slashdottings in such a short period of time seems almost cruel and unusual.
Note to the Editors: If by some chance you run another story linking to this guy's website, use Coral Cache. Please.

You can get 2TB for $90, (21.980437 GB/$). For this to be competitive, it'd need to cost $140.

Coral Cache FTW...
Okay, I finally got the page to load:
Falsehoods Programmers Believe About Names
If only Slashcode would do a single hit on <domain> +
.nyud.net + /rest/of/url/ for every link posted in an article, then it would be trivial to switch over to cached copies of the content. -
Slashdotted, Coral cache link

Re:What's the URL of the example site for the book
From a bit of digging around I assume it is this site: http://guildbuildersinc.com.nyud.net/ (coral cache) or guildbuildersinc.com Although you can't really see much on there without logging in. I'd be interested to hear views of anyone else that has seen the book, as the only review on Amazon is by the same person as on here.

Re:Silly Brits
It's why we need to Take Back Parliament and get a fair voting system. I went to the protest in London yesterday, and I encourage anyone that can to come to the next one, on Saturday (14:00, 15th May, Parliament Square, London).
I'll go and help ya.
you'll need to send me a plane ticket and some money first though.

Re:Why not use Ecofont?
There is a good posting explaining why Ecofont doesn't offer any advantage over a light serif on Fontblog (only in German, here's an English summary). Fontblog is written by typography professionaly and can be trusted on these things.

Re:Some truth to that.
While I don't think it's super dire, it's certainly a concern. I can add another point. Steam confirmed for Mac.
Problem? Macs don't take the latest and greatest off-the-shelf graphics cards, and generally are a fair bit behind the curve, way back in 'casual land'.
On the other hand, maybe if Apple open up a bit this is a way to sell more and better cards rather than another spike in the coffin.
There's a larger issue with that; nVidia's PhysX only works in Windows.
Another reason why OpenCL should be the way to go as it's cross platform, and also vendor agnostic.
