Pastel blob solution.
I thought 'pastel blob' when I first saw it, too - it's hard to tell what it is at certain distances. Perhaps next go-round, they can solve that problem by using the color of the brick itself as the 'dark' pixels, instead of chalk purple. And for the pixels on the edge, they can outline the brick to distinguish the wall from Mario. Here's a quick mock-up in Photoshop: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/alexandreazenne/mario.jpg

This smacks of holler pandering to me. How is it that consumers can already purchase vehicles which average 90mpg (british)?

You're all amateurs. It wasn't even a geek word to begin with. what's worse is Wikipedia doesn't even have that meaning as far as I can tell. So much for a useful study resource. My metalworking book had more information than Wikipedia did. -

Display bug kills my KDE experience
I really don't care about any new features in KDE. It is already fast and packed with enough power to get my work done. All I want is for the KDE team to fix one annoying bug that has been in Konqueror for years. If you use the most compact view available, listing the icons from top to bottom, long filenames are drawn incorrectly, leaving artifacts all over the window. To reproduce the bug, use the small icons (from top to bottom) or list mode of Konqueror or Dolphin, navigate to a folder with lots of files/folders with long names, and scroll to the right. There is no way that I can use a file browser with a bug like this. The fact that the bug happens identically in Konqueror and Dolphin indicates that it may lie in the QT libraries. In any case, it's been listed as a Konqueror bug for years. I'm using Thunar in Xfce for now; Thunar puts more space between icons than I would like in its Compact List view, but at least it renders everything correctly. Once the KDE team decides to get around to fixing this, I'll start using KDE and recommending it to my friends.

MACKENZIE MORGAN NAKED & PETRIFIED

I would put you in display in art museums so that everyone could admire your spectacular naked & petrified teen body, then I would put you on a pedestal in my apartment and admire you constantly, and climb up on the pedestal and make love to your stony form, getting my penis raw & red from the friction, and covering your beautiful hard marble skin with my spooge, my beloved naked-and-petrified queen.

Re:WTF are you talking about?
Unlike WoW, the only real 'drops' in CoX are enhancements - tokens that you can drop into the six slots that can be created (one at a time, at level-up time) in every power in order to improve its effectiveness.
There's other drops you can get. Inspirations, for one. Essentially temporary enhancements that do stuff like boost your accuracy or damage output, or increase your defense, or allow you to rez on the spot after being defeated. There's also base salvage items that are needed for upgrading super group bases.
And with the advent of i9, there's recipes and invention salvage that can be used to craft enhancements, temp powers (Ethereal Shift, Gabriel's Hammer, and the St. Louis Slammer for example). The best drops though, in my opinion, are recipes for various costume pieces, such as these for example:
Dragon Wings
Cherubic Wings
Insect Wings
Faerie Wings
Burned Wings
Bat Wings
Winged Boots
Rocket Boots
There's also two other wing recipes (Bone Wings and Tech Wings), and the Piston Boots recipe. But those aren't shown here because none of my characters use them. -

Re:Par for the course?
Actually, on WinXP, what he describes is exactly what happens. You select the first folder and drag it onto the second one and you get this prompt. Selecting "Yes" merges the parent folder and prompts again for any nested folder, selecting "Yes to all" merges the parent folder and all nested folders. No prompts for individual files, and no shift-clicking involved. Are you sure he's the one who is using outdated info here?

I don't ...?
I have never been overly public, never blogged or distributed a newsletter, but I like commenting on almost any topic, and providing answers to questions asked me. Due to some mental anomalies
... I lack focus/interest to achieve almost anything. I am 55yo+, a high school dropout, no college graduation/degree with 160SemHrs+, curiosity and questions are my greatest perpetual distractions and entertainment. I am honored to have been a US Marine at 17yo, 1969-71, but never in Vietnam.
Anyway, all comments I make are open comment for anyone to use or expound on. I only expect that any quotes attributed to me be verbatim, and any interpretations always be attributed to the interpreters' understanding or dogma. IOW: make them your own ... I will only lay claim to a few things (1) the quote; "Reality is self-induced hallucination." [my attempt at objectivity], (2) The flag/emblem of "Knights of the WoeFolk Continent, Order of Quixote." [my delusion, http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j186/oh21/_Order_of_Quixote_2.png%5D, (3) maybe, not likely, a few more things before ....

Re:InterestingThat's why there's still a market for the freaking huge Lian Li cases for power users... because some powerful gaming machines require freaking huge cases. And it's why the Mac Mini is in a small case while a Mac Pro is in a big one. No...they don't. The bigger towers are only useful for more drives.
Lian Li is selling more and more small cases with room for 2 optical drives (who the hell needs 5? running a DVD factory with your gaming PC?), no floppy (that's what USB/CD boot is for), and 5 or so PCI-E slots (the stuff that makes gaming PCs: graphics cards and sound cards). As long as it can fit 2-4 HDDs for RAID, a powerful graphics card, a standard-sized power supply, and a tower CPU cooler or water cooling, it's big enough for a powerful gaming machine. Like my Lian Li. -

We took a picture & I went back in to Cakeshop to enjoy the hipster heavy metal party. I closed out the bar & went home.

Dear Beautiful Mackenzie (an Actual Girl):
I'd like to sneak up behind you and start fondling you violently and then as you struggle to try to escape I'll take a scientifically-proven magic petrification ray from my bag and zap you with it, and it would first disintegrate all your clothing, leaving you gloriously naked, then it would start the process of transforming your body into marble, inducing in you a massive magically-induced which would be captured eternally as your body is turned into solid stone from the feet up to the head gradually, freezing your final moan of ecstasy as you become a beautiful, cold lifeless statue, but with your mind still alive inside the statue, aware of everything that happens to you.

Re:Are you sure you haven't been brainwashed?
Speaking as a person who has been "involved with electronics" for over 30 years, I have to say you are quite wrong. Even turned inside out to show the breadboard (as in the pic) the device in no way looks threatening.
Bullshit. The only way the device in the first picture "in no way appears threatening to you" is because you're not familiar with what improvised explosives and detonators can actually look like.
This is her device:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v232/btrosko/fakeboom.jpg
This is the detonator for an IED:
http://fusion94.org/images/missed_call.jpg
I'm an EE, so I know from being able to look at that picture of her device for a bit on a computer monitor that it appears to be a 9 volt battery driving some LEDs with current-limiting resistors in series with them.
I don't know that's what it is, I just know that's what it looks like. To verify that that's what it is, I'd need to be able to inspect it with my hands on it.
Now, what criteria would you suggest that non-EEs use to tell the difference between the harmless LED display in the first picture, and the deadly explosive detonator in the second picture? Oooh, the first one has an exposed breadboard. Well, so does the second one. Exposed wiring on both. Exposed circuit components on both. Both have a battery and glowy lights (There's a cellphone there, so it's going to have at least one LED on it, and it even has a nice fancy LCD display).
So what criteria would you suggest airport and security personnel use to evaluate such things that would allow them to accurately, at a glance, tell the difference between a hacked-together LED display, and a hacked-together IED? Especially when it's sitting there on the chest of someone who's walking into a crowded terminal.
