True, but the age is rising all the time. Did you know that it's now grounds for arrest if you leave an 11-year-old alone in a car while you go into a store?
Apparently an 11-year-old (who requested to stay in the car, as I often did at that age too when my mom went shopping) might be in danger of suffocation or overheating or whatever. Note in the article: Police said the car interior temp had risen to 85 degrees (!!) before they arrived, apparently just in the nick of time. And apparently the police must have determined that the 11-year-old had no other possible course of action (with that temperature rising to... moderately warm... levels), like rolling down the window, opening the door, or... heavens -- going into the store and joining her mother!
In a few years, this will be moved up to teenagers. Particularly if there's some sort of high-profile abduction or something. It doesn't matter how rare it is.
And if you think this arrest is an isolated case, you'd be wrong. Look around a bit and you'll see plenty of cases of parents being arrested in recent years for letting preteens (9-, 10-, 11-year-olds) walk alone to/from a local neighborhood park or playing there alone. Heck, parents have even been arrested when an 11-year-old boy was alone playing in HIS OWN YARD for a while.
(By the way, of course leaving young kids in a locked car is a horrible thing, and many do die each year. But presumably an 11-year-old has a few more options than being stuck in a car seat until they die of heat stroke.)
Just in the past couple years, the age for arresting parents for "endangering" them by leaving them alone for a few minutes has risen from somewhere around 7 or 8 up to at least 11. Teens aren't that far off.

I recall when the Macbook went Intel and everyone wanted one. We did evaluations at the time fro our next fleet replacement but Apple just wouldn't come to the party with any kind of enterprise support. So they lost our business, and I'm sure we weren't the only ones. That was about 7 or 8 years ago and from what I've seen they haven't changed their stance since. So they sat by and let MS eat their lunch.
First, I wouldn't say that MS has been eating Apple's lunch...
Second, have you ever stopped to consider the number of people versus the number of "businesses"? I think Apple knows EXACTLY what it is doing. -

Haaa yahoo news, (one of) my favourite source of integrity news. Any of those "dog stay at owner grave for years" news smell fishy and weird but it's my opinion.
Anyway, being true or not, I don't think a few story like this count as a good argument to prove that "no pet should outlive it's master because it's too cruel". Max here (granpa's dog) look quite happy with us.

However, he also voted to protect gun manufacturers from liability for gun violence. To say "Bernie Sanders wants to take your guns" is factually and demonstrably incorrect. Vermont, where he has been a senator for approximately 5000 years, is considered to be gun-friendly, and also boasts the lowest rate of gun violence in the country.
I have only ever heard of one elected representative at the federal level who has ever said anything approaching "gun-grabbing", and that was Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA). Interestingly, the NRA currently gives Senator Sanders an 8% rating; apparently being a moderate on gun issues is unthinkable to those maniacs.

I agree entirely when it comes to "tolerable" and "reasonable" and "obnoxious." Even if we completely ignore the fact that Yahoo's advertising network has been repeatedly compromised and used to serve up malware, the "legitimate" ads they display are from the gutter of the internet.
Going to any Yahoo site with ads enabled is like visiting a newsstand in the red light district. Lots of pictures of scantily clad women being used to promote something entirely unrelated; that's a grenade waiting to go off if you visit Yahoo at work. Lots of pictures of gross skin conditions and other medical problems. Lots of click-bait captions ("Surprising Ways Coconut Oil Can Change Your Life!," "20 product features you never knew existed!"). Lots of trashy, scammy sounding ads that remind you of the junk you see on TV at 3AM ("Search For Mesothelioma Lawyers," "How Much Can You Save By Refinancing?"). And on many Yahoo properties, each page will load a dozen or more 300x156 images all down the side of the page. Seriously, fire up a sandbox VM and go scroll through this page on Yahoo News without an ad blocker, it's unfuckingreal!
Yahoo Mail also insists that you enter your cellphone number in order to create an email account. This is a hard requirement and can't be bypassed. Gmail will try, and if you don't enter your number they'll remind you at every opportunity, but as of yet won't force you to link your email account to your pocket government GPS tracker. I know a lot of folks are attached to long-held @yahoo.com addresses but surely nobody new is signing up for this shit.

Well, there are lots of people who still use mail addresses which tie them to a particular service, instead of using their own domain which they can take with them if their mail service provider acts up. Even if you consider Yahoo small fry, these people are fucked if Yahoo becomes belligerent. For now, I guess they can use a better ad blocker, or use the POP3/IMAP way of reading their Yahoo mail. Does that work with the free account or is it a premium feature already? IMHO now is the time to wean yourself of your yahoo.com email address and switch to something that doesn't lock you to a single service provider.
