And that means they should get along with governments, advertizers, owners and they should not make themselves unpopular by associating themselves with things that are not cool or suspicious. That's not quite what happened. The internet undermined the populations ability to hold these organizations accountable. The free market dogma "you have a choice" is a capitalist myth. The game industry is a case in point, pre high speed internet you had control of the game software, they had to give you the entire game if they wanted to get paid because there was no internet to take part of the game files hostage on their servers. After high speed internet penetration became a thing. Game companies pushed mmo's as a trial balloon with massive propaganda to sell people on paying monthly for a game you don't control or own. The problem is there is a constant new stream of kids being born, those irrational kids and their parents, the unintelligent/irrational part of the population voted away the rights of the informed half of the consumer base (aka vote with your wallet). That is why there is such outrage amongst the intelligent, because the stupid voted away our right to control software and we would have stormed their offices if our society was setup to give us the resources to hold them accountable (aka you were paid by the state to be a citizen to go visit them and give them some angry physical proximity). The internet and tech has fundamentally broken and undermined the power of the individual against large organizations because it requires us to be physically located near them in any way have any kind of market power in the relationship.

The problem is the internet is worldwide, aka goes across the globe and across the country, that gave corporations instant access to kids and the dumb half of the population, that dumb half voted against the smart half to remove their rights. AKA many of us didn't pay a thing for these companies but new kids and idiot parents are legion at the bottom of the bell curve. So the internet allowed the unintelligent to vote away the rights of the intelligent. The intelligent half of the population could have prevented it but that would have required our institutions to be setup for us to be paid to be citizens and be mobile so we could storm their offices, that is why the corporations and business community can simply take over society, telecommunications infrastructure undermins the very basis of the free market because the customer has no ability to influence the business.

The internet undermined market power of the individual, that's the reality. There is no market not that it ever really existed, for those of us who are politically informed.

You want a Real Argument AC? Let's see. First, what you are doing here is actually an Ad hominem attack - you are attacking me for having a low UID - not what I wrote. I did not attack anyone, I was merely commenting on the tactics used by trolls. Look at the story now and you'll see that my comments on moderation have already been validated to some degree.

Or did you want to fight about Trump and the memo? In that case Carter Page is a very suspicious character. I'm not surprised the FBI was interested in him. What we know is that this memo is intentionally biased, leaving out the full extent of the evidence brought in the initial FISA warrant. At that time Steele was still a reliable informant for the FBI. To obtain a warrant one does not need the statements of informants to be sworn testimony, so under the Gates rule the combination of a credible informant along with the accumulation of other evidence, the FISA warrant would not be illegal. How the informant came by their suspicion is not at all important - the courts assume that informants are acting in their own interests and are quite likely to be lying. That is why they need additional investigative evidence, which the FBI already had on Page. Once they had that first warrant the continuations where likely based on the ongoing evidence of collusion and other crimes obtained through their investigation. But this memo has been carefully crafted so as to ignore the full evidence, and we know that because other people who have seen that evidence say so. You might not believe them, but then who can say without seeing the evidence?

What I see is that the same republication FBI agents that were instrumental in swinging the vote in Trumps favor, were also concerned that their new dear leader was surrounded by people with links to Russia, and started looking into them to remove the danger to the president. Then the president lost the plot...

The *problem* with this theory of yours is that you are saying the recently released memo is wrong, that the FISA warrants where not based on the dossier from Steel, but other intelligence which was known to be true. The memo is based on the claims that without the dossier there would have been no justification for the FISA warrants.

So Carter Page's relationship with Russians isn't all that material here. Simply knowing and associating with somebody who had something to do with the Russians in the past is not enough to give you probable cause to do surveillance on other people today, any more than interacting with a murder who just got out of jail gives the police probable cause to get a warrant to search your house.

Just listen to Carter Page incriminate himself repeatedly while trying to fool TV interviewers into thinking he's just been smeared by anonymous sources.

No danger there. The mosquito species that commonly bite humans are the ones that are adapted to living in proximity of humans. What is habitat destruction for other species is habitat creation for them.

The fact Nintendo keeps fucking up their own franchises is proof Nintendo is out of touch. Other M was a disaster and Nintendo's involvement was why, they picked the wrong developer and the original metroid creator boned his own franchise because he has no idea how western gamers see and experience metroid. One can easily just look at the bad game scores to see how wrong you are.

Re-greening the desert is actually one of the most effective ways to sequester CO2, and it can be done with a lot less water than most of us would assume. Both Joel Salatin and Allan Savory have stated that large scale adoption of managed intensive rotational grazing (MIRG) could re-sequester all the CO2 we've added to the atmosphere since the industrial revolution within a couple of decades.

In a nutshell, well managed herbivores help keep the soil healthy, and actually increase the topsoil layer. More soil stores more carbon, as does healthier soil, so it's a double win. A triple win if you consider the healthier livestock -- grazing outdoors instead of crammed into factory feedlot "farms". More and healthier soil also retains more water, helping to alleviate the looming water crisis.
