Now that I think about it, the way China is right now is strikingly similar to how view an Internet in which Net Neutrality has been soundly defeated and one can only visit approved sites. There are, of course a few differences...govm't approval vs. corporate sponsorship. But the end result of a strictly regulated Internet experience remains the same.
Or I could be completely full of it.
There ARE still some benefits to this.
Sad as it may sound, I actually respect Microsoft's applications for word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
Since I already own a copy of MS Office, I can actually see myself using this.
Though it would be fair to argue that one could just upload documents to an FTP.
Fascism has nothing to do with an attempt to crack down on copyright violators.
Although the methods that are being employed are, to say the least, draconian; it is not as if the act itself is being forbidden.
This is especially true if you intend to start up as soon as possible.
And, of course, for-profit > non-profit when it comes to making some return on your investment.

It's all about the context of the act. There is no way in hell some random program can decide whether or not an act is friendly or hostile. This is just a half-baked idea.
Can't you see it?
The massive stampede to go out and download this truly amazing piece of software.
Why, the Internet will surely never be the same again.
All hail sleight of hand.
I tend to buy a CD AFTER I download the songs to listen to.
If I like the songs, I go out and support the artist.
I really don't see why the RIAA is bitching about how delaying the sale of the material for a few days is crippling the music industry as a whole. p2p file sharing is the best free advertising you could possibly have, why else do startup bands release their music on the 'net?
..we will soon receive news that Bungie is developing yet another Halo game for this new console. Honestly, how many of you own an XBOX just to play Halo?
Is how this booming population is going to effect the competition required to get into the more prestigious schools/high-end jobs. This coming generation will be forced to perform at ever-increasing levels just to stay "in the game."
Although it's not just limited to the iPhone. http://www.locatemydroid.com/ Really, though, this is pretty awesome.
What is happening to him is why super heroes wear a mask...
I always thought the idea was that Assange IS the mask.
Because we can.
Uhh..there's a gas reserve?
It seems like everyone is just dicking around with the election by pulling stunts such as this. There's no way this will go through.

Yea...sure is nifty as hell..but what would the price of something like this be?
Why is killing someone by making them violently sick any worse than dropping bombs on them?
