What is it about armpit hair? Where I lost it was in The Greatest Showman the bearded lady had shaved armpits. Really? You shave your armpits to fit in with social norms (well modern ones, not necessarily historically) but you don't shave your face? Who thought up that one?
Yep, even worse I end up getting stuck paying it even though I'm not even using the cable TV because I'm using the "Broadcast TV" for free over the air instead of their degraded quality re-broadcast version. Why in the hell would I do that? Because internet plus useless TV is cheaper than just internet. Even with the fees.
Professional Engineering certification isn't common for computer/electronics engineers as their designs aren't often public safety concerns. PEs are very common and make sense for civil, mechanical, and power distribution engineers. If they screw up a design, it can affect large numbers of people. The reason you get a PE is because you can't get a building permit in most jurisdictions without construction drawings being stamped by a PE. The piece of paper is indeed valuable as without a PE, you're pretty much relegated to being an assistant to a PE in many fields of engineering.
Most state boards of engineering have requirements for obtaining a PE such as passing tests and maintaining continuing education throughout certification. I can't speak to Oregon specifically, but for me, I had to pass a Fundamentals of Engineering exam, work 5 years under a PE, and then pass another Professional Engineering exam in order to get registered as a PE. I now have to complete several continuing education credits every 2 years to renew my license. I do agree that the process costs money and probably more than it should and it doesn't have nearly as much oversight as it probably should. But the big differentiation between a PE and a non PE is that PEs are personally criminally liable for failure of designs they have stamped.
BTW and SJW aren't acronyms, they are initialisms. You can't pronounce either as a word. I do support acronyms that drop minor words from the abbreviation similar to the capitalization rules of titles.
For example, the local police department got a HEAT unit grant for Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic. They didn't like my suggestion to start a special unit for the Highway Enforcement of the Left Lane though...
That was my experience in California... I asked several people where to return cans for the deposit. I was told to put them in a bag and leave them in parking lots for the homeless to collect and get the deposit back. That's right, that recycling incentive deposit? It's a stupid way to encourage littering while making litterers feel like champions for the poor.
Except if you watch Rober's other videos, he actually debunks other fake videos on YouTube that go viral. I guarantee you this video is legit. He is an engineer superhero.
Yep. I'm glad I live in an area where one house doesn't even close the garage door at night. I've been to the store and somebody left their lights on, but the windows down so I reached in and helped them out by turning off their lights so they didn't come back to a dead battery. The real shame is that we find it acceptable to live in a world where we have to assume there are assholes and thieves everywhere.
I would agree with you. I bought a OnePlus One years ago when it came out and it's more than sufficient with custom Android updates to do pretty much anything except AR and fingerprint reading. I did however just buy a new Pixel 3XL for $1000 but it was for the promotion with Google Fi where I should be getting that $1000 back in travel gift cards... I couldn't justify spending over $500 on a new OnePlus 6 (or T) considering the capability differences. I only pulled the trigger on the Pixel because of the deal which is awesome if it pays off and the exceptionally good camera on the phone. I also had service issues with the OnePlus One since it didn't support all of the GSM bands in the US and I was left struggling for a data connection a lot of times.
Even worse, that list is probably public record and now websites will list you as a "flagged individual likely to commit a crime" and their SEO will make sure your name is destroyed unless you pay them a hefty ransom where they will just move you to another website and demand another ransom...
Oh wait, that's already a thing with mugshots and you don't even have to be accused of a crime to get one of those!
This generally isn't a problem on Southwest as they give you 2 free checked bags so people aren't trying to cheap out and cram an oversized bag into the overhead bins.
Even if you rent, you may be able to install an antenna. If you own your property, there are federal laws that allow you to install an antenna for the purpose of receiving video broadcasts and despite what HOAs may claim, you can install them on your roof. https://www.fcc.gov/media/over...
You should tell your HOA that there is a federal law preventing them from restricting antenna installations unless they can show it doesn't put an unreasonable burden on you. https://www.fcc.gov/media/over...
We may still yet lose that democracy due to the 1920s. That is when many of the social safety nets provided by the government started and the promises of the 1920s have not been funded for the current generation. Those Great Depression handouts were paid out of debt and I think debt may be the thing that brings the American experiment to collapse. Another nation is unlikely to invade unless they are owed a significant amount of money that the USA is unable or unwilling to pay. The second biggest threat is that economic collapse that is likely to accompany a debt crises on a government level. And it's not just the feds. Government debt is at ridiculous levels at all levels of government. Even down to the local level, politicians are spending money they don't have from the future generation's tax revenue.
The biggest threat to democracy is the media and the government colluding together. Having them be enemies is better for the people because the media might actually expose the corruption and incompetence of the government. When the government and the media get along, you know they are both scratching each other's backs. Look at how the press was treated back in the early days of the United States by officials and how the press treated the officials... Heck, fringe whatever wing rags talking shit about the king were the spark that started the Revolutionary War.
Nah, you gotta make Hulu $12 a month if you want it ad free. And I'll eat a horse if Disney+ is only $5 a month... I'm guessing it'll at least be $8.99 or something stupid.
I don't mind the fragmentation, but I'm not spending less. Netflix used to be cheap and had everyone on their service. Now the content owners are pulling their content to put on their own site and charging as much as Netflix did for a much larger library and now Netflix is raising their prices too for a smaller library. Netflix was great while it lasted, but I'm tired of paying for a service that keeps getting smaller and includes pulling content I'm in the middle of watching. I guess I can just jump from service to service as I watch individual shows, but it is a pain in the ass to keep track of.
Also, when an article is blatantly wrong and has a blatantly wrong source it doesn't matter if you are an expert in the field, you can't remove the text and the reference. If you really are an expert and manage to publish your own research, it'll probably have to be shared with the wrong information in the article.
I used to live in a situation where I had a 30-45 minute commute to work by car. I lived right next to a bus stop and my office had a bus stop next to it. The estimated time for a public transit trip from my home to work was over 2-1/2 hours. This is metro Atlanta and unless your commute is within the city or from the suburbs to the city, good luck. I lived in one suburb and worked in another and the two transit systems were only connected downtown.
Now I live out in the cow fields and have a 30ish minute commute. But the urbanization is quickly approaching... A Wal-Mart went up last year and it's only going to get more developed from there.
Could also be Atlanta. It doesn't help that there is no unified regional transit system (though that is in the works). But if you want to go from suburb to suburb, figure on it taking half a day if it can even be done at all.
In which case ice still had nothing to do with it.
Also thinks they know everything and keep complaining that certain people are "not notable".

My complaint about BF2142 is that hover tanks exploded in water...

AT&T still makes you play the whole threaten to leave to keep the same price you are paying game. They are two sides of the same damn coin.

And every time she testified it made her less likable. Her testimonies were full of misdirection, evasion, and outright lies.

Have you not heard of violent crime in prisons? It's a thing.
