There is a difference... I agree the two party system isn't ideal and I will be very happy the day that 3rd parties can get enough to kick out the Democrats who stand for Metro Areas where the people are dependent on government for their survival, and suffer problems such as over population, and the huge differences in quality of life between the Rich and the Poor. Vs. Republicans who stand for Rural areas where people are self proficient and their taxes goes to services they barley ever see, and their community is based around religion and faith. As well in these areas gap between quality of life between the rich and poor is much less, and for the most part the reason people are rich or poor is because they deserved it.

But this does allow the people in the suburbs to do something about it. And if they see a party is too abusive they will vote them out... Just as in the last election The republican party has lost its way and was being too corrupt for its own good so they voted them out and now they are suffering and they are trying to remake themselves determining if they should be more true on core values or be more moderate. However now that the democrats are in power a lot of people are seeing abuse on their end so the next set of elections my turn the tide giving republicans a bit more power to keep them in check.

Electric based cars should only improve in price as they get more popular...

Your Rant about them not being affordable yet will lead to the problem where they will never come out and we will be stuck with gas forever because they are just fussing trying to get everything perfect.

    Real Questions...

How Much does it cost in your power to charge it?
How much eneregy does that take/What is the carbon footprint for operations vs running on gasoline?
When in Gas mode how many MPG does it do?
How about GM old failing... Reliability. How well will this car run in 10 years?

These are the real questions that I want to know.

What happens when your cloud vendor goes out of business?
Well it depends on how stupid you are...

Cloud computing isn't a flawed concept there are just flawed implementations of it. A lot of SaaS companies offer ways for you to download you data if you want/need it. Facebook and Twiiter are not really good examples because in reality their stuff isn't really that vital... Heck you would probably be better off if it was wiped out. Next this is something slash dotters don't seem to realize when a company of any decent sized goes out of business there are other companies who often come in and pick up the service and the data. If Google went out of business Microsoft or Yahoo would probably jump at the chance to buy gmail and its user base and keep and migrate all that data to hotmail probably in a few month in the meantime they would run gmail as is. If you go with a tiny vender (A Mistake on your part), Don't make a contract where you can get full access to your data (A mistake on your part) and the companies goes out of business your are screwed... However that was due to your stupidity for going with a bad company with a bad plan. For the most part in real life you can setup as part of the contract access and ownership of your data.

Trying to make an app perfect can take an exponentially more amount of time to create a product. So in the mean time you are trying to get perfection there is time that people cannot take value from your product.

Like Duke Nukem Forever. They tried to make it the perfect game at a cost that they couldn't complete so no-one could pay the game nor could they get enjoyment from it.

Sure Slashdot geeks like to bust on PDF as it isn't their choice of a document format, for some good reasons and some bad ones. However PDF is a heck of a lot better then using Microsoft Doc files. But there is a value in a document format that displays equally well on different systems. So if Adobe were to take an extra 10/15 years to make it perfect they will be out competed, and no one will be able to use the software. Vs. an imperfect program that will give people value even with the glitches.

Now before the crazy rants that will follow the post about how good code can save the company money in the future. There is a balance between the Value of releasing early vs the Value of having a good product which needs to be carefully considered writting bad code just to get it done fast won't work either... However in real life if you want to make money for a living you need to get it done and working good enough for people to get value from your product.
