Huh? Discipline for a teen leads to "deeper problems"? Leads to a teenager resenting their parents? Shutting off the computer & going to bed so a teen can actually get up in the morning & go to school is somehow a bad thing? Modded Insightful????
From someone who raised several teens, & raising one right now, I couldn't disagree more.
It is usually called alternative education & it has shown very good results for those kids. They do graduate, maybe a bit later. The bonus is getting them out of regular school.
And where are most of my pirates? Hmmm purely anecdotal here.... I am a PC gamer, not a single pirated game on my machine (currently). However, I go over to my daughter’s home, my grandson is playing his Wii that is completely loaded with hundreds of games, none of which were purchased. My nephew’s PS2, uses many pirated titles. I've heard the same about Xbox but never seen it. It could be that piracy with consoles is more common that the OP thinks.
Back in the day when there was white neighborhoods left in Detroit, like SW Detroit, a broke down car could make a easy target regardless of the color of occupants. Ghettos are dangerous places for someone that looks like an easy target, regardless of the color of the locals.
As a Product Designer that has used Pro for 12 years now I couldn't agree with you more. Fucking marketing pukes decide that MS ribbon interface is the FUTURE & they take Wildfire 4.0 (which is one of the BEST UIs in CAD) & move all the commands haphazardly to the ribbon. What is really funny is the pukes renamed Wildfire 5.0 Creo 1.0! I've heard Creo 2.0 is much better but we shall see.
IMO Marketing pukes are the bane of all tech based businesses.
Woah... so you did not get overwhelmed by the smell? This happened to me once, the fuel line blew (at a connection) & I knew what it was a moment later because the fuel vapor hit me like a wall.
Another moment later the engine quit. This was on I94 in the middle of Detroit at 2:30AM, no cell phone in those days... =D
Salesman & marketing pukes run my company that was founded & ran for it's first 50 years by engineers. Now we do nothing unless it's chasing the competition. At that point our leaders point & claim how our engineers dropped the ball & did not come through with the innovative product. All the while outsourcing more & more tech work to India & China. & we wonder why kids don't want to go into engineering.
We get no respect. We get little resources. None of them ask for our will listen to our opinions. All we can do it work more hours (to keep our jobs) while looking for work elsewhere. From what I read in my user groups, marketing pukes running the company is becoming quite common.
Exactly. The talking heads on local news give me chills when they keep spouting off about iPads being "the future of computing!". It's a console to replace your computer!!! Would it be too tin-foil hat like of me to forsee sometime in the future the regular PC becoming illegal on a public network?
Back in the mid-90s when I was in CAD classes we all had a ton of work to complete. Back then over half the students did not have computers at home (imagine) so the CAD lab/classroom was the only place they could do the work. When the instructors started lecturing, they usually made us turn off our monitors. Of course there were a bunch that wouldn't do it & you would hear the mice clickin away. At least once an instructor blew his stack over it.
I truly can't imagine it today, people wanting to use their device (laptop/tablet/etc) to take notes rather than pen/paper. If I was teaching at the college level(my dream job), I would ask the students to turn them off, put them away when starting a lecture. Then I would have to learn to not blow my stack when a large percentage ignored the request.
As much as this sounds interesting, I'm not sure how it can replace basic research that is (as far as I know) done on sites like FactCheck.org. Is it true or not? Is it mainly a tool to identify that which may not be the truth?
For me, multiplayer games require time to learn to be functional in it. Maybe too much time. Time to learn the maps, the strats, to not be a noob. It's not fun to be frag meat. With all the extra time I put in these days at work, not to mention stress, my gaming time is more limited.
I prefer single player more now. Single player means just moving along at my own pace. No pressure, no matches, no expectations.
Unless you live in Ca, Tn, or NJ, Newegg will not collect the sales tax. As of today shipping those parts = $25 which I agree he should of included. However, watching for deals at Newegg, Tiger, Amazon, ect... you can usually get free or discounted shipping.
Ultrastar is Discraft's 175g, correct? http://www.discraft.com/ultprod.html Personally I prefer the Sky-Styler (160g) but then I don't play Ultimate.
I always correct people when they call one of my Discraft disks a frisbee, it is a sports disk! Way better than Wham-o's frisbee. Made in the U.S. also!
My employer's health care plan actually has many choices & is always changing. Different providers, different plans.
And of course each year we pay a bit more for it. No complaints though, the coverage is better than most people I know.
People do complain because sometimes they end up having to change doctors. I've been lucky, changed providers 3 times in five years & I still have the same doc.
Seems strange that they charged a restocking fee for an Open Box item that was DOA. They game me a refund for the exact same problem, no restocking fee. "Return for refund within: 15 days" However, I did have to pay for the return shipping.

Last I heard Newegg was 1.4 billion in sales & that was a few years ago. What is Shopzilla doing on that list?
What supposed to bewrong with vegetables? Did I miss something?

The Tolkien Family sued over "The Hobbit" movie & settled. Guess it was English Riding Booties doing the stomping that time.
HAHA! Think they might end up on Ebay?!? I really want a iPhone grill for my patio.

Heck no! I call it the Millennium Falcon!
IMO, his plan would make more money for the shareholders. But convincing them & the board of that would be quite difficult.
How long does it take to teach Intelligent Design anyhow? Would not a lecture lasting more than ten minutes run out of material?
IMO what these people really want is not to teach evolution at all. Darn kids are smart enough see which concept holds water when placed side by side.

Should that viewpoint be applied to any/all video games then? Should ./ not post a video game story?

Better yet, if you have (or have a friend/family) with a .edu email address, Win7 Pro for $30!

I got one copy & it works, upgrading from XP.

OK by me, please support the competition before Newegg buries them.
