And yet again how many people think this is a problem involving mosquito insects and NOT the device called a mosquito (ultra frequency noise crowd disperser).
Violence + ignorance, the basis of the american culture.
You still have blood in you, and its pirated blood at that!

Woodcrest (and conroe for that matter) are awsome single cpu solutions, the unified L2 cache and extended proccessing options allow them to bypass most speed problems of traditional code (cache coherancy thrashing, unoptomized code, etc) but all this gain is LOST when useing 2 CPUs (differant sockets) running in 64 bit mode, you will thrash the cache just like usual, the fancy microcode optimizer disables, it all falls apart.
Intel have put a lot of nifty tricks into these new chips, tricks that will only work in single socket desktop systems. If amd add these soputions to their chips (unified cache running as part of memory controler for instance) they will gain not only in single CPU solutions but due to the mesh bus network (hypertransport), it would be able to deal with coherancy much better.
Really 5/8/6 and 6/8/6 should be there, they were the designations on some of the "other brand" (then, amd and cyrix) CPUs, of course 8/08/6 should be noted too as should the year 4004... will anyone remember a humble lil adding machine then?
The easy way around most of this is to get the OEM version for the windows you have installed, do a software repair (boot from cd, enter at first screen, f8 then "R" to repair) and then it will take the OEM CD key as normal:)
Hrmm, the agreemant we have with VISA, AMEX and MASTERCARD is pretty clear that we can charge an excess for CC transactions, so long as it is clearly advertised as such and that we tell the customer both verbally and on the invoice exactly (and it has to be correct to the cent rounded down) the amount
Its become quite common, as merchants in aus are starting to get very pissed off with one of our banks (not pointing fingers BENDIGO BANK) who saw fit to allow a NON credit account to be linked to a VISA card, thus makeing an arseload of cheapskates who want their "no CC intrest" and not have to pay for transactions on their end.
People think they are "screwing the bank over" when they were just humping their local businesses into the ground, pay the extra or get cash damnit.
Believe a lot of countries now have a "digital sign" description, which would make (as my isp had me sign) the document fully legal (at least here in australia).
My contract is 1mth payable in advance, no acceptable use with a flat rate, so i really don't complain ^_^
Simple, find an MMOG where the end-game isn't a boreing, never ending, time sink.
Dark age of camelot, apart from haveing a pvp system that WoW is trying to emulate requires you to kill NOT ONE MOB, once you reach the "end game" (pvp), you can go out whenever you want, for however long you want and kill people ^_^
Eve-online while can take significant hours to do some things (mineing operations, interdictions, etc) you can just log on and "kill some rats" to get money. Oh and did i mention you don't have to "grind" in eve?
In short, blizzard made a time sink game, there is nothing inherantly wrong with that, verant/sony did the same thing, 3 times, but what is wrong is that people value their time so little that they would spend their leisure time working on them;)
Hehe, i wonder if they get their batteries from dell?
Finally, a car bomb pre built from the ground up, now all the potential terrorists and suiciders can rest assured their mutual destruction devices are well built ^_^
Don't believe that number is correct, had a failure in this the other day while backing up a customers data (it gets backed up into the current PCs "my docs" folder), think it worked out to C:\documents and settings\backupuser\my documents\backups\\Documents and settings\\application data\microsoft\ think it went about 10 more directorys and died.
Buy a copy of fraps then i guess, sucking data strait out of the video cards output buffer would be the best way of doing this.
Would be a small guess but with the user level drivers in vista, couldn't you wrapper a program within another program, and intercept all driver commands, pretending you are not listening but grab that framebuffer at a nice smooth 30fps? Of course doing this in realtime would be nasty, sucking in that big an image at 30fps in full frames AVI would be very very bad, last time i recorded a 1600x1200 25fps vid i was useing a gig every 5min.
But after the addiction that was zork, logging onto a MUD and playing effectively a zork game MULTIPLAYER was a huge "omfg" moment for me, and of course my first player kill ^_^
Whats this WoW game people keep talking of? Oh, thats right, its the game that got all the noobs of the world interested enough in online play to play http://warhammeronline.com/ ^_^
Forked out for a copperhead here, and have loved it, best sensitivity i could find in a mouse, and lots of very bindable/macroable keys.
While the Krait is a solid all-around mouse, it was specifically designed for RTS and MMOG gaming. According to Razer, these styles require a high amount of actions per minute, something which is Krait is tailored to do. Razer was not able to convince me that the Krait was any better at this than the Copperhead or the Viper, and I don't really see how less buttons (the Copperhead has seven) could lead to more actions per minute.
I did have a bad button early on in mines life, but an email to razor and an rma form later and i got a shiney new one. Unlike a lot of peripheral companies they consider heavy wear and tear damage to be waranty covered.
Looks like a nice cheap mouse, although the optical sensor is a bit of a downer, once you go laser, you can't go back:)
Oh, and as to recording your name and details, where does MS do that in the activation process? Registration is voluntary for windows, they may know what your activation date was, which is not overly usefull, but thats it.
The check on hardware done by the activiation wizard isn't that in depth, same chipset MB (doesn't need to be same manufacturer) same manufacturer CPU (so sempron > athelon doesn't trigger it) is about all that is checked as far as i can tell (through many many system repairs/rebuilds).
I know of at least one piece of software other than windows update that uses BITS, everquest2, it queues up a patch for you to DL in idle times via that when you are not running the client, not really a bad thing to have it off still, but what other things use it?
No, think before you do anything.
Ye gods what kind of society are we liveing in?
My friends? oh wait, you meant the other Barny :P
Was thinking the same thing, will stick with raid5 ^_^

IPv7?
Uhh, actually, on second thoughts, i shouldn't give them ideas...

Also theres windows XP Pro "Update" version...

Personally, i will wait for "the 12 principles" SP1 before i start to believe them, as, i am sure, would everyone :P

Most "free" file shareing programs have had this implemented for a long long time ;)

You do know that tweakUI was just a registry hack tool made by microsoft right?

Yep, its hardly a "gameing rig" with that thing in there, and lets face it, with modern PCs graphics card is a substatial part of the cost.
How about we slot a 7900gt in there, and maybe ANY amd64 939 chip, as it will beat the intel for gameing (per $) every time

The companies whose cd key started with FCKGW and K4QK7 would be a good example of legit keys going bad ;)
