    HDMI-CEC solves that issue. My 2013 Plasma remote controls Fire TV over HDMI-CEC no problem.

    Why in the hell do all the links go to social media or an ad-spam site? Linking to some schmo's twitter post is just poor form. Cant you just fucking link to the SpaceX site instead of perpetuating this incredibly shitty era we have gotten into where all data must include ads? Why is slashdot sending me over to The Verge when spacex has all the relevant info? Just give us the data, fuck off with your partnerships.

  11. Because it is. Wired and wireless are NOT the same thing at all. The Net Neutrality argument mostly applies to wired/landline internet, not cellular links. After we settle wired Net Neutrality, we can then start to talk about load balancing and prioritization for mobile, but for now it is a scarce and finite resource. Cellular is still a luxury internet connection (due to it being a finite resource) and i think people forget that.

    No, the internet is the town hall. There are no barriers to setting up your own booth in it. Facebook, etc are more akin to taverns and the barkeep always reserves the right to control the conversation to keep the peace.

    The problem people are replacing text with video for all the wrong reasons. Advertisers are forcing a move to all video because its the opposite of text, its not malleable information..

  18. I have the same cans. Sometimes i want wired, like for times when my PC loses my bluetooth stack. Also, you cant play FLAC/WAV over Bluetooth, I have to use wired for that so its not always a choice. Im not sure if you know this, but wireless and wired are not interchangeable things. Each has its own unique qualities.

    The only solution is to deny the machine internet. Thats where we are, if you plug into the internet, you have no control over your device anymore. The only escape is exile (which is the intended outcome)

  21. I flat out DO NOT want my device watching my face all the time. More than anything else, the technology will be used to see if you are actually looking at an ad, or looking away and pause it. In the very near future you will HAVE to look at the ad, or you dont go forward. Did i mention they will be constantly analyzing the emotional state on your face too?

    You are a bit behind. MS is set to launch Windows Mixed Reality (VR) headsets with inside-out tracking in a few days beginning at $300 for various OEM partners. They are moving deep into VR quickly.
