90 years old because taxpayers (read: well-heeled conservatives) never want to pay for maintaining and replacing infrastructure until after the disaster occurs. No doubt they will somehow get federal funds to help defray the costs - all the while cursing the federales' very existence.

The whole fscking world is so rapdily turning into a panopticonist police state regardless of zip latitude/longitude, at this point I would almost welcome a massive stroke or coronary as long as it did me in proper and full. Seriously, what's the point of maintaining one's health (physical or otherwise) if the only long-term reward is going to be imprisonment (physical or otherwise)?

if Google News was finally disinfected from the Fox News comtamination. I dumped it long ago as it become obvious that Google was either complicit or clueless about Fox News gaming the system to have their propagandistic headlines appear on any story even tangentially connected to US politics. For all pratcial purposes, Google News is now equivalent to The Drudge Report and is of no interest to me.

I guess I'm a hipocrite; I never watch local news anymore (you will never find louder commercials than those within small-market news shows), but I do rely on local, timely updates of weather during tornado season (that brief period from March to September). I do use the NWS online, but it doesn't tell you the whole story like spotters and local meteorologists can. Unless you live in a major media market, or want to know the forecast for Aruba, The Weather Channel, et al are worthless to us more rural folk.

Most of the time I pay little attention to Apple, so of this story, all I saw was a picture of the vindicated woman with her iPad. She was African-American.
