From TFA: "The 90-year-old water main ruptured..."
90 years old because taxpayers (read: well-heeled conservatives) never want to pay for maintaining and replacing infrastructure until after the disaster occurs. No doubt they will somehow get federal funds to help defray the costs - all the while cursing the federales' very existence.
The whole fscking world is so rapdily turning into a panopticonist police state regardless of zip latitude/longitude, at this point I would almost welcome a massive stroke or coronary as long as it did me in proper and full. Seriously, what's the point of maintaining one's health (physical or otherwise) if the only long-term reward is going to be imprisonment (physical or otherwise)?
if Google News was finally disinfected from the Fox News comtamination. I dumped it long ago as it become obvious that Google was either complicit or clueless about Fox News gaming the system to have their propagandistic headlines appear on any story even tangentially connected to US politics. For all pratcial purposes, Google News is now equivalent to The Drudge Report and is of no interest to me.
As much as I hate tornadoes (two near Hays, Kansas last night), the area and population impacted by even a massive F5 is miniscule in comparison to an 8+ earthquake, hurricane, or tsunami. Although the frequency and possibility of threat is much higher in comparison.
You know one former east-bloc country you never hear about in any news stories? Bulgaria. Nothing about government corruption or suppression (unless they're 100% effective) or ethnic strife and retribution. Not a peep. Odd.
I guess I'm a hipocrite; I never watch local news anymore (you will never find louder commercials than those within small-market news shows), but I do rely on local, timely updates of weather during tornado season (that brief period from March to September). I do use the NWS online, but it doesn't tell you the whole story like spotters and local meteorologists can. Unless you live in a major media market, or want to know the forecast for Aruba, The Weather Channel, et al are worthless to us more rural folk.
Most of the time I pay little attention to Apple, so of this story, all I saw was a picture of the vindicated woman with her iPad. She was African-American. That's why they changed their policy; the head of Legal woke up drenched in a cold sweat from a nightmare of her appearing on Oprah with her sad story of implied racism, resulting in the Big O turning to the camera and saying "I'm never buying another Apple product again".
it is rather hard to duplicate fingerprints, unlike DNA samples that can be copied and carried to any crime scene desired, or even more conviently placed on confiscated evidence back at the station.
I've always found it fascinating that God's most important employee is Satan. If Beez really did want to get back at the old man, he'd set up his own paradise instead of endlessly torturing those who sin against God. Hence; he's still on the payroll.
Use leaded glass to keep out harmful radiation!
But according to the Newsmax RSS spam Slashdot gets paid to show, this BP spill is Obama's fault.

the past tense of sank is iceberg.
I assume the German government really just wants the list of open wi-fi networks to accelerate their collection of fines.
3. Profit!

Two mushroom-shaped clouds.
Then again, that 5% have proved they have large amounts of cash to blow on overpriced products, so maybe they are a worthy target.
the consequences of a terrible idea perfectly describes the stupidity of DRM.
I'd rather have a paper trail than a vapor trail for both my votes and financial transactions, thank you.
Those who do not remember history...

...still want a Neuromancer movie?

MBA students know how to read?
But probably not whales.

will quickly ban any mention of this crater for being too reminiscent of goatse.

I would never have guessed the Aussies (of all people) would be as terrified of human sexuality as Steve Jobs.

Exactly. That's why I've put money down on a Trebuchet attack.
