Now of course, in a case like with a parent calling his child something bad... then of course, some actual harm is caused. (And as a victim of this, I know for a fact, that it's just as bad if not worse than "physical" harm, as physical harm can be fixed much easier.)
But if you're grown up, and someone calls you a (let's use something that would offend most here) "pathetic childish complete loser who never had sex and never will be, fucks his Yoda fleshligh and will die all alone, crying himself to sleep every night until then", it depends entierly on you.
So because you were non rational as a child it was wrong of your parents to call you names, perhaps even rightfully so, perhaps you were one of those oversensitive ego's, and you needed some hard hitting words. But when a grown up does it to another grown up it is okay in your book? Kinda double standard that.
I can tell you've never hung out with machinists. Smoking pot doesn't affect your ability to operate machinery any more than it affects your ability to play Street Fighter or Call of Duty.
Coming from a 3 year marijuana bend I can tell you that it depends on the person and the amount of pot you have had. Speaking from a dutch perspective, where marijuana is very much legal to smoke in doors, yet illegal to grow in any amount for oneself, I find it ironic that our politicians are trying to put some of the stronger flavors under the hard drugs illegal section. I mean honestly, who better then to look for marijuana advice then the ol' cheese kingdom.
Ofcourse in the military you are part of a unit. You have brothers that can get hurt, so it's not just about your own life. Playing with other people's lives VS leaking info that could bankrupt some shady organization of it self. Ill take door number 3 hans!
How would the Kinect be used as a TV remote replacment? Swipe left for down channel, right for next? Up for volume up and down for volume down? Ok now I want to jump from channel 34 to 21, what swipe gesture would I use for that? How about channel info? Will there be Kinect gesture classes in our children's school years? I hear people talking about the Kinect like its the second coming but other then specific problems that could be addresed by it for the most part its the child like idea of of having a Minority Report interface that has people excited.
Thank you for posting that. I realize there is a very vocal minority that would love nothing more then for all of us to go live in huts and tents but the vast majority likes their iPads and Android Phones. We need power. Just choose the least nature harming one. Of course nature should cooperate and leave those well enough alone.

You also use a 2 dollar throwaway keyboard, rip out the print board and solder directly to a keyboard interface. Sure you loose the keyboard codes that you use but its cheaper, easier, and entirely not my idea.
But I am using it to make me an SNES pad to USB.
That thinks, meh dump it in the ocean. Think these people have had enough shit poured over them we can cut them some slack when it comes to the environment. This would kill a lot of fish, I know.

I realize that your trying to sound smart but I have Android running on my phone and tablet at the moment... So once I install 3.0 on my tablet they won't be the same any more and instead be treated as 2 independent entities? Weird that I would find that confusing.
I don't get this either. Other then naming 3.0 something other then Android once its released how will this do anything but make things more complicated for consumers?
How can you even post something like that on a site as drenched in technology as Slashdot? Do you really know so little of the world to not just dislike their products but to really wish that on someone who has pushed technology as forward as like Steve Jobs?
I don't care if your a fanboy or a diehard hater but you just can't say you are a technology lover and wish one of the big three dead, (Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Linus Torvald being the three imo.) they have more vision then anyone of us here will ever have and even if you disagree with what they have to say, people should listen when these people speak.

I havent seen any screen shots of both Office 07 or Win 8 but do the ribbons replace the right context menu? So you need only one finger...
