First, the Secretary of Agriculture does not own Gundam. Second, with the way corporate lobbyists are throwing money around to influence government policy our dollars are voting (i.e. a dollar to Microsoft is a vote against ODF).

The Vista analogy is about correct except that its a new truck with OBD3 (whenever OBD3 comes out). So if home base thinks you might have stolen your own car because you didn't do a rain dance before putting in the key they shut you down. Also since its Vista it has to be a riced out truck. But when you get locked out all the bling falls off in the middle of the road. Also you cant get your stereo to work if you try to put music in it.

It refers to the the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dubai would be the most well known spot in that region. They are ludicrous rich and show it off with crazy construction projects and the best education and health care in the world. Also there is no taxes and they let corporations operate out of there with little to no restrictions. They also control many of the worlds ports. And are the fastest shipping jump off connecting asia with europe and the US.

I know! Like in windows I have to hunt for video codecs cuz standard formats in windows suck so everyone uses stuff windows cant legally support out of box. I also have to install all the various drivers individually and the windows installer takes 20 years to fire up each time! Oh and the rebooting! Oi vey! At least I don't have to install an mp3 codec by clicking once when it asks me after trying to open an mp3 file for the first time. Frankly, the only software I want in linux besides 3d studio max, motion builder and adobe suite is winamp(dont make fun of me I like it). Oh also, as for those that complain about stuff working out the box, windows still comes in a box and Ubuntu does not.

I think some sort of algorithm (computerized or not) that manages a system of human analysts, strategists, experts in relevant fields and the like would work out better. The key to taking in real world data and analyzing it involves taking trends and other vague generalizations and piecing together a sort of quilt that gives a better view of what is happening, has happened and as such what what might or will happen. Humans are fairly simple when it comes to actions they take. Sometimes it is unpredictable but for the most part people do similar things in similar situations and for the most part these actions are based on the wanted and unwanted in life or in a situation which stems from the general human experience which is at its root the same for all people (birth, growth, death, resource scarcity and a need for those resources such as food, protection, social contact and many other things).
