Why is it that the sudden closing of one of gaming's most important, influential, and long-running game developers just before the release of the end of their long running saga not worthy for the front page?
DVD to HD-DVD: People will re-buy their movies for signifigantly increased quality and features
I disagree here. HD-DVD/Blu Ray is not 'significantly increased quality', and there really aren't any inherently better features to it.
VHS to DVD added crystal clarity and not having to rewind and no degredation over time, no tracking, etc. etc etc.
HD-DVD and Blu Ray are just.. slightly better DVDs. Maybe MORE features, and yeah you've got a higher resolution, but nobody would ever consider DVD quality to be blurry. There's no inherent advantage to HD-DVD other than HD and More Space.
This is why I dont think very many people are going to accept HD-DVD or Blu Ray. That, and there's going to be two- if both dont fail then one will, and people will want to wait until that happens.
A lot of the games people are calling "delays" aren't. Animal Crossing DS and Mario Kart DS did not have offical release dates until now, now they do (within the Q4 2005 timeframe that Nintendo offically stated)
Any other release date you heard were just wild guesses (some of them were even in September and January which aren't Q4 2005)
Everyone is using such loaded words to describe this.
Yes, it exists within the code of the game. However, it is DISABLED. Without modifying the game in an unintended way (save game modification) it is inacessable. The cheat codes they are talking about are using game enhancement devices, not controller codes.
The question is.. is it in the 'game' if it's not actually part of the game like that? is Crocomire in Metroid Zero Mission? Is a placeholer model that ended up being sent with the full version that isn't actually used 'in the game'?
See, the thing is: the rating is supposed to represent what a person would experience playing the game. The sex scenes are NOT what a person would experience playing the game, unless you use the hot coffee mod to do it on purpose, after finding out about it.
Basically, here's what I think: The product of "Grand Theft AUto: San Andreas" (ie, the box the disk etc everything included) includes it, it is on the disc. But, the GAME does not.
Yes, it's just deathmatch But some people LIKE death match. And it's a solid foundation for modders.
Yes, it's not as refined as UT2K4 or whatever Do any of these other games have a GRAVITY GUN? No? Well let's continue then.
Yes, it's pretty laggy Play with less people or on a really good server. I played one where the lag was good enough to be able to toss grenades back, and that was pretty awesome.
Yes, there are two maps out there They're leaving it to the community here. I'm planning on making a map myself in a little while, actually.
remember, HL2 only came out two weeks ago, and we didn't even know that HL2DM existed for certain until last night.
Make sure that that in steam options your network setting isn't set down to dialup. When CS:S came out mine got set down to dialup for some reason, maybe it did it when you installed HL2?
Actually funny you should mention that. There was a time when Zelda.com was a porn site (and it was an actual porn site, I think it was an amature site by a woman named Zelda) - the time was about when Ocarina of Time was new. Since then, Nintendo bought the domain (if someone has any more detail here, I'd be glad to hear it.. whether it was a legal battle or just money being handed over) and now Zelda.com is the Legend of Zelda offical site.
I might be wrong on this, but I think they were doing this using XBox/Gamecube development kits, thereby making it pretty much useless to open the source to
So, what, the psudocode ("Non-literal form") for a function which acts like a function ("Function") which is merely sort of like ("Similar to") a function they own is ALSO a function they own?
Actually, it's Link's Awakening, not Link's Adventure.
For reference, here's the total Zelda series (not counting the CDI titles) The Legend of Zelda Zelda II: The Adventure of Link The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Master Quest BS Zelda (Japan only, SNES Satteliteview) The Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past (Including Four Swords) The Legend of Zelda: The Four Swords (gamecube, upcoming) I'm not sure of what the full title of Tetra's Trackers will be.
The CDI titles were Link: The Faces of Evil, Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, and Zelda's Adventure.
Zelda characters have been playable in Super Smash Bros, Super SMash Bros Melee, and The GC version of Soul Calibur 2.
Is it just me or is an alert box with just an OK button completely worthless in this case? All it does is delay loading the control without giving the user the ability to not have it load. The user only has two choices: load the potentially dangerous control, or leave the dialog box on screen. This doesn't solve any of the problems and just adds more headaches to the browsing experience.
My outlook is that immortality would be boring. After a while everything there is to be done you've already done so you get cynical and go around trying to insult everyone in alphabetical order just for something to do. ----

Open source tends to be "You can do it any way you want. But if you dont do it my way you're an idiot."

Seems a little less farfetched now doesn't it?
He doesn't seem to realise that the HHG series is one of the most self-inconsistant in all of creation.
Did you know that not every Adams-created HHG even had towels?
There's only like, four or five things that are actually in every single version Adams created.
Saying one version is "not true" to another is just missing the point.b
Why couldn't they have taken the cool path and named it "FOXDIE"?

The funny thing is that FFTA's Final Fantasy is actually the upcoming Final Fantasy XII. Figure that one out.
