12 years ago, I wrote a website that took RSS feeds checked the posts where on topic, sorted to output into new web pages and RSS feeds, was even open to the public to create new feeds, and search (via google API) for feeds on subject. I a million page view per month, but the views where mostly for the output feeds, so no ad revenue. Run it for seven years, but got tide of paying £110 per month for hosting and getting on £12 per month from google Adwords, so I had to shut down, then the server died.
Today is my last day at my current job. Starting monday a new one, with 10% more salary, 9 to 5 hours instead of 9 to 6, and 4 stop commute instead of 17 on the underground. Shop around for jobs every couple of years, it can be very profitable and improve you life greatly.
Experimental Particle Phycist Tomasso Dorirgo http://www.science20.com/tomma... doesn't rate the 4.8 sigma excess satistics as valid, thinks the systematic uncertainitys are much bigger.
All the CV will say, is choose to leave google, so they have great employablity. Agree they'll be replaced easierly though. Being in IT you can replace your employee or employer easierly.
Here in London, we have one freesheet paper in the morning (the metro), and another in the evening (Evening Standard), and the tube (underground railway) is full of people reading them. This might change in 3 years, when the tube finally gets wifi, but not till then.
Methane has almost double the hydrogen of Kerosene, so this is in fact a great improvement in weight and CO2 production, on kerosene based rockets. Liquid Hydrogen is hard as a big volume, and needs cryogenics so methance is a good compramise
Mind Uploaded comes a little closer. 1 cublic millimeter uploaded. Now they have to scale up by about a million times (1 litre), and we'll have an uploaded human
I make it 99 years since general relavity was written, and 110 years since special relavity was written, what is so special about the first confirming solar eclipse that marks it the beginning of relavity, the solar eclipse meanly showed that light could be bent by gravity, one of the prediction of general relaivity.
No Berkeley DB is a fine piece of kit, i spent several months building a web forum system with Berkeley DB as the database. It worked fine, Berkeley did exactly
what the API promised with no extra messing about needed. I would recommend Berkeley for simple NoSQL applications.
I've read almost every thing by him, the culture books make for great reading, complete with chatty star ship Minds. Also loved some of his non sf book, like complicity and Espida (sp?) Street. Yes his book where somewhat dark particularly many of the ending, but also refreshing in parts. He will be missed.I've read almost every thing by him, the culture books make for great reading, complete with chatty star ship Minds. May be it takes a very long time to evolve complex life, life was single celled for over a billion years, before multicellar life came about, may be that step is even rarer than we throught and earth just got lucky.
This device is never going to work, converting protons in neutrons in the metal isn't going to happen, the process requires nearly a MeV of energy that isn't there, (and Terahertz waves are no were near a MeV). This is a cold fusion under different name, cold fusion didn't work, and neither does this. Shame on NASA for supporting research so obviously wrong, and previously debunked.
Iron oxides are why mars is red, the colouring is basicly rust.
Git seem to be working for me. But travis isn't starting on the Pull requests.
Surely you don't become white from driving a BMW, even if you go a bit fast in the corners.
Nor do you have to be rich - some of the older BMWs can be surprisingly good value for the money.
Had a £800 BMW need to do see the engine broke and it was a right off.

Who wants windows to managed their antimatter.
Yeah dumb. Stored energy is in Joules.
This is why smokers are thinner. No tar, and all the adrenaline of cigarette. I call it a plus.
If we could get get rid of obesity, my eyes would feel better, and people would live longer.
Will this mean, we get replaceable batteries back on phones.
We are likely to keep freedom of speech on the internet. All speech, including hate and abuse. And i'm happy with that.
Shame the orignal battlestar galactica was great. And he acted well

I don't get what Lambdas are supposed to do, can someone explain?
Would fail the meta moderation.

It would be extermely interesting biochemically, would probably be made up of different organic compound than earth life.
