    I'd say that their proprietary-ness (Lay off the grammar) is more for quality control than anything....if you control all the variables, you control performance. Let's face it performance is key. I'm waiting to hear that someone had a bad experience with it on osX.

    I'd like to buy one...I'm still using my Motorla slvr. It's a nice phone but the iPone had me at ...well it just had me...unlimited data sounds pretty good :). The plans I will admit are a little pricey.

    I'd say that it's mainly just because the information no longer proves useful for enemies of the government. Most classified documents are not like this completely crucial and ultimately secret documents. What's special about them is the way they place information together. Which is ultimately where the intelligence part comes in. It's not what you got, it's how you use it. But like someone said earlier....it's not that it never happens, it's just not usually announced.

    I think it's funny how us as Americans have this mentality that, if you're not with us, you're against us. I personally don't think like that but it's certainly something that I see far too often these days. I'm an American who has been living in Italy for a little over a year and I've seen my share of things i don't like and that I do like and in the end it's just Apple's and Oranges. They're too different to compare and if one agenda steps over another than well hey someones gonna end up upset....in this case it's /.ers

    I'm currently still in the navy. because of the effect that our powerful equipment would have on our bodies we have designated areas and precautions taken to eliminate the chances of having a mishap due to this. It drives me crazy when they announce that shit on the 1mc.

    I'm not quite as old as a new hope was 10 years old when I was born but I loved those hardy boys books....about as generic as a james bond book but still quite fascinating in their own respect.
