I don't know. I was in 4th and 5th grade when I did the Dacta class and was probably in 6th grade when I got Mindstorms. I got it right after it came out, I don't think any of the new IDEs that are available now were available right at the release.
If I was still interested today, I'm sure I wouldn't be disappointed. In my Intro to ECECS (Electrical and Computer Engineering and Computer Science) Lab, we made a Mindstorms robot that had to traverse an obstacle course. The IDE we used still used "blocks" to represent functions, but it wasn't as simplistic as the LEGO IDE. I think you could even look at the code behind the blocks if you wanted to.
My brother and I went to a "class" thingy that used LEGO Dacta. Dacta was basically the precursor to Mindstorms, just less n00bified. You wrote the programs in actual code, not using LEGO's horrible GUI with blocks. Shortly after we completed the class two years in a row, LEGO released Mindstorms. I got it for Christmas that year and was very excited. That is, until I tried to program one of my bots. The stupidly-simple GUI for writing programs killed my interest in the whole thing.
My brother and I made some pretty awesome models including a conveyor belt that sorted based on color, a temperature controlled green house, and a black and white autofeed scanner. The scanner was epic. It was so cool to see the picture we drew show up on the computer screen.
Indeed. It's always faster for me to grab an xvid copy of a movie from newsgroups I own on dvd than to rip it myself. Same with music. And like you said, they probably did a better job than me. Trying to understand what deinterlacing method to use gives me a headache.
While suturing a cut on the hand of a 75-year old Texas rancher whose hand was caught in a gate while working cattle, the doctor struck up a conversation with the old man. Eventually the topic got around to Sarah Palin and her bid to be a heartbeat away from being President . The old rancher said, 'Well, ya know, Palin is a post turtle.' Not being familiar with the term, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was. The old rancher said, 'When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle.'
The old rancher saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain. 'You know she didn't get up there by herself, she doesn't belong up there, she doesn't know what to do while she is up there, and you just wonder what kind of dumb idiot put her up there to begin with.
So my question is: Sen. McCain, why'd you put that turtle on that post?
Just downloaded and installed it. First things first: Need AdBlock Plus. I will never switch away from Firefox 3 unless the alternative has an ad blocker.
Also, the scroll wheel function doesn't appear to function properly. When scrolling down, it moves a page length at a time. Scrolling up doesn't work at all.
Put a cheap antenna on the roof for the time being and run a small/thin copper wire (or something not easily visible on the outside wall of your apartment) down the side of the building and through a window.
Your didn't think of a third scenario: Psystar wins the right to manufacture PC's with MAC software installed. As a response, Apple stop using x86 CPU's and go back to IBM PPC's. After this happens, Psystar can't sell "clones" because they can't buy PPC's from IBM.
If you want to be specific, Psystar is not the user. The person who makes the purchase from Psystar is the user. Thus, Psystar is not actually breaking the EULA.
Indeed. I'm left doubting the story's accuracy. It's on a website I never heard of that was slow as molasses when there were still 0 comments on this article.
I chose my screenname/email address when I was in 4th grade. I'm now a Junior in college. So the only thing you can infer from my email address is about my personality ~10 years ago.
Indeed. I decided I liked riding my bicycle to class enough that I bought a decent road bike. At first I said to myself "there's no way in hell that anyone is going to catch me in skin tight clothes." Now I own 3 cycling jerseys and 3 pairs of cycling shorts. And they're all skin tight.
I even joined my university's cycling team. We ride 3-4 times a week. ~60 miles Sunday, ~35 miles Tuesday, ~35 miles Wednesday. I look forward to it every time and I usually go riding Friday also.
I'm 145lbs @ 5'9" which isn't fat I suppose, but I won't be happy until my stomach is flat. Eating less helps.
Cam: recorded with a camcorder with indirect audio (using the camcorder's built in mic)
Telesync (TS): recorded with a camcorder (although TS's are often recorded with a higher quality camera) with direct audio (audio typically from a headphone jack for the hard of hearing)
Telecine (TC): A telecine machine copies the film digitally from the reels. Sound and video should be very good, but these are fairly uncommon (expensive machines)
Screener: A DVD or VHS copy sent to various places for promotional use. Many times they have timers and/or serials numbers. Quality varies, but DVD screeners should be excellent if the person ripping it isn't an idiot.
R5: Usually made with a telecine machine from an analog source. Unlike a TC the digitization is performed by the studio itself with very professional (and expensive) equipment. The purpose is to beat the pirates to the market in 3rd world-ish areas (Russia, Africa, etc).
I suppose so. I was just reading up on why Katie Holmes was dropped in favor of Gyllenhaal (I live under a rock). I suppose the change was for the best. Katie was better looking, but that's about all she had going for her.
Also, I must have misheard it during the movie, but when the Joker tells Batman where Harvey Dent and Rachel Dawes are each being held, I thought Batman said he was going for Rachel. But then he shows up for Harvey and saves him instead of Rachel.
I didn't mind it so much. I much preferred Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes over Maggie Gyllenhaal.
Or maybe I just don't like it when a character's actor changes between movies (same with Dumbledore in Harry Potter, I liked the first guy better; he has a much better voice).

After poking around, it looks like you can still buy the stuff: http://www.legoeducation.com/store/?global=usa

The same reason your asshole bleeds when you stick a large object in it.

Other than that, appears to be good so far...
Your head.
------ Your comment has too few characters per line (currently 2.4).
And oh my god, reading that white on green text made my eyes water.
I do not care! Enough with the IPhone articles.
Are you sure you don't need MONSTER CABLES?
Or just get cable for a few months.
Well, I'm $15 shorter than I was before reading the article.

eh, it's a unique name. I think I've only run across one website in all my wanderings where the name legoman666 was already taken.

Comcast is in ur internetz.... reading ur blog.
Better be available for the PC within a reasonable amount of time.... Otherwise I might have to.... *shudder* ...buy a console...
Good to know my hearing isn't messed up. How come Batman didn't mention this fact to Twoface when he was holding a gun to James Gordon and his family?
