What if user just buys battery and changes it himself? Nokia batteries doesnt cost much but almost 90$ for battery change is a ripoff. Perhaps it would be best if users could change battery themselves?
Good luck with that. I see clear advantage with mouse and keyboard with multiple bindings to keys over console controller. Sure, you can buy those separately to consoles but that costs extra money. They should ship them along consoles by default and then maybe they would have a chance beating PC.
If you can detect and isolate a program that doesnt do what it is supposed to be doing and attracts attention with unusual behaviour, like scanning certain ports or trying to send packets etc, then it may be something that you dont have to have on your server. Most security programs today arent looking up what software does. They look what ports are used, what traffic is routed and so on.
These malware programs today try to hide themselves into deep that you just couldnt find them if you dont know what you are looking for. This system here as i understand it tries to identify what are the normal parameters for a certain program to work. If the program doesnt do or behave like a normal software, then there must be something wrong with it and alarms go off, lights are blinking and all hell brokes lose.
Oh crap, red lights and i hear noises. Oh it's only the cops.
I only hope that i would have been partner in that advertisement company. 300 million dollars pure money with a cost of less than 200 000 excluding Seinfeld reward.
How hard is it just to let go of DRM isntead of trying to keep it aboard? We clearly know it hasnt stopped a single copy of any game spreading over internet. Only thing it makes hard is for average Joe to play the actual game.
Linux once said that he doesn't need any storage space. He just sends his stuff to a public FTP. Well, where exactly is Linux 1.0 now? I can't seem to find it from any FTP...
Id's "first party" games are just tech demos for their latest engine anyway, have been for a while. That explains Doom 3 right there - they really weren't trying to make an awesome game, they were demoing an awesome engine.
I still dont get it what is awesome in a game that is 99,5% all black and can only have up to 4 players in multiplayer and still perform like crap. Doom3 is the reason why i bought HL2 and i never regretted.
I find it funny that Xbox360 *CAN* be used to run DX10 features but XP *CANNOT* run DX10 features that Vista has. Anyone see another chair flying from Ballmer to ATI spokesperson?
Exactly. Microsoft is preparing for virtual computing which means that you have only screen, keyboard and small terminal with internet connection at home. All data and stuff gets placed into Microsoft server and you are using your terminal only to access it - from anywhere that you want.
Thats what you get when industry is being controlled by businessmen in suits. They are not gamers, they do not care anything else than numbers and money. We need real gamers to say what we want to see.
Atleast in this country, LAW goes over EULA anytime. EULA says you cannot lend your DVD to friends but LAW says that it's your right as a consumer, that EULA is useless. That is, atleast in Finland.
Hear hear. For some reason, i don't find it troublesome to swap disks into my Wii - but i find it most unconforting to change CD/DVD in drive to play a PC game that is installed already into the computer - especially since i know that the CD/DVD in the drive is useless and idn't even being used since all of the content is on the PC already.
Personally, I'm hoping that tomorrow's Press Conference with Nintendo at E3 will re-introduce H.A.M.M.E.R. using the functionality of MotionPlus. A Zelda game is fine too.
They will introduce that musical game which Mr Miyamoto was demonstrating few years back at E3 press conference. It required a Wii-mote only and looked a little dodgy due to fact that the whole orchestra in the game was controlled via mote only. Perhaps the Wiimote gets more accurate and the orchestra plays more correct because of this ivention and a lot more games benefit from it in the future.
Usually the Steam client itself runs fine. You can easily buy stuff and its more painless than installing a game from DVD. There have been few issues with the Steam itself but they have been fixed fairly quick. However, especially with Valve's own multiplayer games (like cs, css, dod, dods, tf2) there are issues with authentication. This is where the user problems come in. You are assigned with steamid, like STEAM_0:0:12345678 which is authenticated every time you join in a game server (dont ask me why it couldnt be checked upon steam startup). Its something to do with their VAC module which is a system that bans detected cheaters. But sometimes when things are fine, you just dont authenticate. Steam restart usually helps but sometimes you have to remove ClientRegistry.blob file, restart steam and download some settings again to make it work. Sometimes even that does not help.

Still worth a try, right?
You are propably on the right track. Few big lawsuits would propably be more costly than having those servers up. Think about all that bad press too.

Problem is that if you disallow connection, you cant play the disk.

A judge that doesnt really comprehend or understand how things actually work - sadly yes.

Wait, they call them add-ins instead of add-ons? Talk about hilarity. "We cant use the add-on word! Mozilla created it!"
As in, broken?
You count traffic *IN*. Sometimes providers count *IN* and *OUT* to total traffic.

Better to have redundancy too. Double every part.

No cost savings, just more money from advertisers because now they can direct adds better and show stuff that adults would not show to their kids.
