May not be chicken at all, it could be that other, other white meat... Not to state the obvious but stick to well known, well reviewed and well audited places. Fortunately living in SF Bay Area its easy to get good sushi. And yeah some people skip tuna all together unless the place specifies younger fish that has no mercury (that tends to accumulate in tuna and other fish with age).

  17. probably because people bang on them harder... on Netbooks Have Higher Failure Rate Than Laptops · · Score: 2, Interesting

Anecdotal evidence based on practical experience: I dragged my Samsung NC20 all over Europe and obscure parts of Russia and before that I had a well travelled Samsung NC10 and abused the crap out of it and they are both working just fine. These units went through customs time after time, banged around, exposed to -10c temperatures, countless flights, and copious exposure to the funky Soviet Era power wiring with no ill effects!
I had much worse luck with my HP DV9000 laptop (something happened to the freaking hinge and the LCD would just cut out from time to time and reboot the system) and my Lenovo G530 (two functions keys mysteriously stopped working). The funny thing is I treated the laptops much better than the netbooks - go figure.

  18. depends on what the definition of "is" is... on Microsoft Denies It Built Backdoor Into Windows 7 · · Score: 1

We have all seen enough double-talk from the corporations and government over the years... Just because M$ says they didn't put "backdoors" does not mean jack, since the term "backdoor" is widely subject to interpretation. They didn't exactly say ability to remotely access individual systems without users knowledge... As far as being able to track users and attach unique IDs to every install of the OS or IE, thats already there. For the paranoid or anyone who cares, most of the hardware devices used for trafficking information already include the so called Lawful Intercept Capabilities - companies like Cisco, Nokia Siemens, etc... The truly paranoid still have the option to conduct their discreet activities through proxies using spoofed MAC's and various Linux distros running off USB sticks - or so I hear...

Sorry, but I have to call bullshit on this one - EU Airports abuse people anytime they want without any remorse or pretense of politeness. Last time I got hassled was in Amsterdam at the Schiphol Airport earlier this year. The smarmy douche bag of an inspector took a particular interest in my netbook, my backpack, and even went through my pockets. I never had to deal with that kind of crap in the US. I am not saying it doesn't happen in the US, but I know it sure as hell happens in Netherlands and UK (the abusive cattle drives of Heathrow are legendary among the frequent fliers).
