No offense, but you should probably take a government class. (again, if you've already taken one). We do not live in a democracy, it's a Republic. A democratic Republic, but still a Republic. Look it up in the dictionary.
Furthermore, even the presidential elections are not one-man-one vote, they're simply used as a guide for the Electoral College.
...the internet was invented and implemented by the United States. It's OURS. If the powers that be decide "It's my bat and my ball, and I don't wanna play anymore" that's their choice. They own the bat and the ball. Don't like it, build your own and don't invite the US to play. OHHHH, but wait, that's what you're trying to do, but piggy back traffic on the network they control.
Kids, just wait till IP6...with bit-lengths that long, it'll be a lot easier to hide traffic, and by the time the powers that be get their heads out of their asses, something bigger and better will have come along.
"Oh no, the sky is falling, the sky is falling....some poor kid in Africa can't download the latest "The Office" torrent...." What you're all forgetting is that the internet is what it is today because of corporate backing and investment. I don't like it any more than you do, but you don't go to China and demand they speak English...
...however, being Russian, he would be a master propagandist.
That being said though, even though much of the former CCCP is of a capitalistic bent, they still have deep seated roots in socialism, don't kid yourself. Microsoft employee or not, he's working there because it suits his needs, for now.
No, I'm not flamebaiting or trolling...but seriously. Use your head, Pal.
1. Google is your friend 2. See #1
But for the sake of argument...let's call you Dave....So Dave, I have a really hard time believing you're a student at all, because a student that has made it all the way to gradschool as a programmer, would already have the deductive reasoning skills necessary to answer that question for himself. So Dave, I have to question how old you really are. Let's see some ID, Dave. The other possibility is that you matriculated to a really substandard school that wasn't able to properly light that spark in your that would allow you to have the grasp of concept in order to ask and answer these questions on your own.The third alternative is that you're really a Vo-Tech student who's about to "grad-jee-ate"...you've not done too many Google searches in order to find the answers to things, and I'll wager you've never kissed a girl, let alone know what one smells like. Would I be right, Dave?
So Dave, after careful consideration, I've broken your original question down, and made a few inferences about you and your current level of skills.
1. I'll wager that you really couldn't program your way out of a paper bag, let alone educated as a programmer. 2. I can tell by your question that you're not a grad student, but in fact probably still in High School and are asking the community from the perspective of a grad student, in which I have to commend you on your ambition, but Dave....seriously...don't lie to us, we'll see right thru you. 3. I think you might have enough grasp of what programming is, to think that you can participate in an open source project to learn enough to give you a leg up in your future studies so that you'll appear competent to your instructors, possibly even allowing you to participate in special projects, or even scholarships.
Seriously, Dave...if you are in fact a grad student, you were severely shorted by your educational institution, I'd ask for my money back.
I worked on a project at Honda R&D 15 years ago, and it's amazing how far technology has come since then, and we're still just now getting there. It was possible to have self-driving cars back then, but the technology was still in its infancy. It's wonderful to see my previous work come to life.
The irony being..."INTERNET Movie DataBase". We're now seeing obvious signs of corporate taint rearing its ugly head and affecting the internet in a negative way. (more so than just corporate sponsored viral videos)
"Here in 'Merica....we don't speak spanish or that frenchie talk....learn english or get outta mah cuntry"....but in all seriousness, it doesn't matter if the name makes sense, it doesn't roll off the tongue...it's not appealing....it doesn't "pop" for the consumer....it doesn't inspire confidence...
the ONLY thing the name portrays is, "Look, we're free of corporate oppression..."......."okay, now what?"
Hollywood has never, and will never be about "promoting art"...they're about the almighty dollar. Sure the writers, in the beginning, might have been about telling the story. The young director might've wanted to put that story to celluloid...but in the end, the business corrupts them all.
The fact is, you're only paying to for the privilege to see the work before "the rubes", because it will eventually be on network TV or HBO...and everyone will be able to see it either for free, or at a very low price.
I'm a guy barely scraping by, these people should be glad people like me are even watching their works. Otherwise, I wouldn't watch them in the first place, if I weren't able to acquire them by other means. So their figures of overly inflated exponential sums of money is a fabricated sum.
"They" simply want as much of our hard earned dollars as they can acquire. I digress...I think capitalism is one of the greatest things since sliced bread, that doesn't mean I have bend over and take it up the ass willingly.
The fact that you think you know something, just because you're going to college as a CIS major and have built a computer, lends testament to the fact that you really know nothing.
Call me when you've got 15 years experience in the biz, Kid. Then I'll care what you think.
This story is only two years old. Come on mods, wake up.
Simpsons creators: "....we would never make light of the crisis in Japan"
Matt Stone and Trey Parker were quoted as saying, "We would..."

finally, an intelligent Democrat. Thank you for making me not lose complete faith in you guys.
Well it *IS* flu season.
When history is forgotten, it is doomed to be repeated.
....what an incestuous relationship. ...does this mean like Fry; he's his own Grandpa too?
I'm sure you meant ANGELS.....not ANGLES....
Learn2spell.
Now TITS OR GTFO.... ....and Ron Jeremy for president.

old story is old
Yup, I was in the beta.... ...the video was SWG'ish...the play was abhorrent, and the interface was klugey
...but if you were to root your Evo, and install the wireless tether app...4G Ipad...problem solved.
...you sure are stupid.
