Actually a lot of US phone companies do IM through their WAPs by using texts that alert you when you receive a new message and pointing you to a web site. My first couple of phones were that way. It's both good and bad actually. If you have unlimited texts it's nice because you don't have to keep open a data connection and kill your battery. If you don't, it gets expensive fast.
Actually the Foveon x3 isn't even a CCD sensor it's CMOS. People tend to use the terms interchangeably when they really mean image sensor.
The Foveon x3 is the only one that makes sense in a consumer digital camera. CCDs are just too expensive and a 3CCD with the prism plus alignment issues would make it even worse so it's kind of unrealistic to expect it in a consumer digital camera.
That happened to my friend once. He was working at a bowling alley where they keep the pool sticks behind the counter. Some Spanish kids wanted to play pool and my friend, who is white, said he would get to them when he could because the place was busy. It took him a little bit to get to them but when he finally did their parents were yelling at him calling him racist for making them wait. My friend, who was fed up with always be called racist since he was white working in a predominately Spanish area, finally snapped and yelled back at the guy why is he a racist, why can't he just be a jerk. If he was Spanish and he made them wait would he have been called racist?
That is true and I agree with you as well but typically if a child asks for help it's because they need/want it. I'm not a parent yet, only 22, so I can only give my perspective from having been a child and still be relatively young.
Thanks. I remember there being a reason but I couldn't recall what it was. This whole situation is pretty ridiculous if you think about it. It seems to me that everyone made poor decisions.
Actually it seems exactly like that. From what I have read and heard it seems like it was the culmination of things that pushed this girl over the edge. I know my mom would never turn down me or any of my siblings for support no matter how badly we disobeyed her orders. Especially if we were to the point of tears. This girl was being attacked from every angle, including her mom. It's no wonder she reacted the way she did especially when she is on medication with a reported side effect of suicidal tendencies.
My friends wonder why I'm always willing to listen to them regardless of what time it is or what I have to do; this is the reason why. Sometimes we just need to know that we aren't alone in the world and even though a person might not agree with our actions still is there for us.
What I want to know is why Lori Drew started the whole thing in the first place.
Apple makes no secret that the license requires the use of Apple hardware. Because Apple sells a license to use the software, Apple has a legal right to restrict that use any way it wishes. Don't want to use Apple hardware, don't use OSX.
Here's hoping you are wrong. I personally feel that once I buy something I can do whatever I want with it. Apple doesn't have to give me support but Apple has no right to tell me how I can or can't use something that I now own a copy of.
You can not dictate the terms of licensing. You do not have a right to use something in a way that is specifically prohibited by the license. Apple has rights too, and your rights end where Apples rights begin. Apple doesn't have to do anything just because you want it done in a certain way.
Apple does have rights. You have it backwards though, Apple's rights end where mine begin. Now I'm not a lawyer but EULAs are still very much in the gray area of the law. Inkjet printer manufacturers tried to do that with their printers by saying that you could only use their ink in their printers. The Supreme Court found that even reverse-engineering to make third party ink cartridges work is not illegal.
I want to know the logic that girl fallowed. I might die so instead I'll kill myself? My math might be a little rusty but I'm pretty sure that even the slimmest chance of living is better than no chance. I imagine I'm going to die someday, guess I should just get it out of the way now....
If that were the case then sites like YouTube or Flickr couldn't exist. Now I'm not a lawyer but it's my understanding that the DMCA provides safe harbor for sites as long they comply to DMCA notices and are willfully infringing. That being if they offer a service that allows people to upload content and the site takes down any offending images when a DMCA notice is filed then they are fine.
He has to be able to provide proof of license for every file he has.
That makes no sense. Essentially every website with undocumented original content would be illegal and that is the majority of websites out there.
Sprint is CDMA but they merged with Nextel who had an iDEN network. Sprint Nextel plans to eventually get rid of the iDEN network in favor of their CDMA network. This will probably happen by the time they get their 4G network up and switch exclusively to VoIP as they use VoIP for the push to talk on their CDMA phones.
It's my understanding that they work on both. It's really expensive to build the fabs to produce the chip at the smaller process so obviously they are going to profit off the ones they have as long as possible. Last I had heard AMD is one generation behind Intel right now. You can't just shrink a chip down either with the new techniques. Every time you have a process shrink you run into new problems.
Perhaps this will make SSDs competitive now. You can get 4 GB microSD cards these days. If you could get just a 10 fold increase that gives you 40 GB. That would be enough for my entire music collection on my phone. 100 fold increase would allow me to have most of my TV shows and movies as well.
The torrent didn't cost Radiohead any bandwidth though and was probably faster. I like some of Radioheads songs but I'm not a really big fan. I have two options, I can download the album from their site, which they have to pay for, for something I may not like or I can torrent it, listen to it, and then decide if I feel it is worth buying. Which do you think the band prefers?
Going back to the TV example it would be like Store A offering free TVs but the line being so long that you go to Store B to make sure it's actually a TV worth getting.
I think you are misunderstanding how trademarks work. I can use your trademark all I want, I just can't pretend to be you. Going back to the Ford analogy what PsyStar is doing is no different than companies who sell modified vehicles.
That's the desktop chipset which is based on a 3 year old design. The chipset they have for netbooks is much much nicer. The upper end SCH, system controller hub as they like to call it, has a TDP of 2.3 watts. So combined the Atom with the SCH only uses 6.3 watts.
I have a dynamic ip address and port 80 is being used by another device on my network. I just used no-ip to automatically forward me to another port that I set. I think I had to moodify some configuratins for Apache but it's pretty simple. You can also just append the port number to the web address.
Couldn't you just put some sort of LCD cover over it and then capitalize on the fact that cameras have different refresh rates than human eyes? Kind of how you can see the scan lines on a CRT with a camera but you can't with the naked eye.
You could always just get a cell phone with an unlimited data plan and then steam internet music to your receiver. That's what I plan on doing once Pandora supports Windows Mobile. I know Pandora already supports the iPhone and some other ATT or Sprint phones.
It's my understanding that this is a trademark issue. Anyone can make a Scrabble style game, it can even have the same rules as Scrabble, it just can't be called Scrabble or anything similar enough to seem like it's Hasbro version of Scrabble.
You can just use LCD shutter glasses and double the FPS to 60 to get 30 FPS per each eye.
I imagine you are right though. They are probably doing this to try and differentiate themselves from the home market. They used to have the widescreen and high resolution advantage. Now a days though you see some home theater setups that are better than some actual theaters.
Anyone else remember the 1999 blockbuster movie?
Seems like someone forgot the first rule of Fight Club...

Right here. Camera with Foveon X3 sensor

So if you downloaded the song from someone else then you are off the hook and they have to pay for it?

Yes, but a dog can only alert falsely so many times before it can no longer be used as probable cause.

You'd think that would be illegal. I don't see how that is much different than the Sony Rootkit.

A 1.5 "TB" drive is 1,500,000,000,000 bytes.
Marketing assholes have raped the K M G etc prefixes.
Yeah I can't believe they had the audacity to use SI units properly...
