I just throw mine in the change jar. When it gets full, I take it to the local grocery store. They have this machine that you dump all your change in, it counts it & prints out a reciept (minus processing fee, about 8 cents/dollar. My time is worth more than that). You take the reciept to the cashier & get cash. Simple, much quicker than counting it manually, and is good when you've miscalculated your expenses for the month:)
Wow! I'm surprised you haven't been slammed for advocating gun ownership. I personally think just about everyone should own a gun. There have been a couple of instances where I've recommended that someone get a stun gun instead. Without exception, it was some crazy ass woman. Don't get me wrong, not all women are crazy, and there are a lot of crazy ass men, too. But there are some people who just have no business whatsoever with a firearm.
You'd be surprised. I've had to fight users almost to the point of bloodletting to keep them from using Gator (including one of the owners, the techie who *should* know better).
My final solution was to find replacement software that performed most of the same duties, but without the offensive pop-up strategy.
That's true. Unfortunately, there aren't many of the deep pocket companies hiring around here. So I'll keep nickel & diming them & try to stay off unemployment:)
There is absolutely nothing in that article that is news to anyone here. Well, except maybe the fact that Sun uses Gator to advertise. I wouldn't have thought they'd stoop that low, especially since many people boycott companies that use services such as Gator to advertise.
I guess it really doesn't matter if I boycott Sun, though. I'm much more likely to implement a Linux solution than a Sun solution. It's all about the Benjamins, and I don't generally do work for companies with unlimited (or even moderately deep) pockets.
Actually, my local cinema does something similar. It's not exactly a "plex", but it has either 4 or 6 screens. They usually have a couple of independent films, and often show local films. The local/independent films are always more crowded than the "blockbuster"s. Granted, this is the "cool" part of town to live, so that affects the types of people who go there.
Oh, and the theater is a part of a moderately large chain. I know they have a virtual monopoly in the city and surrounding areas, and I'm pretty sure they're spread out over the whole south.
Now be fair. It's not an 8 oz. drink for $3, it's 44+ oz. Way too much for a normal human to drink in one sitting, especially without going to relieve some pressure.
Everything else is pretty much right on, except most people don't have a 60" plasma screen...
What's fun about a fake ice cube w/ a bug in it? Why not use a *real* ice cube with a bug in it? Then the ice could melt, the bug be freed, and... Encino Bug, the Movie!!!!
I loathe Madonna's music, but I really wanted a copy of her saying that, I don't know why. I looked, and I couldn't find a fake song of hers on the Kazaa network.
Try the Archos units. I have the Multimedia 20, and have used it to "bootleg" some local shows. I say bootleg because I just sat at the bar & recorded, but I had the bands' permissions.
The biggest problem I had was the levels being maxed out. The sound was ok using the built-in mics, but I believe you can add external mics. I know you can plug into the board using the line-in (RCA).
Slighty larger & heavier than the iPod, but feels more sturdy to me.
I moved from a cd-based mp3 player to an Archos Multimedia 20, and it's the best thing I ever did. It's convinced me to move to usb2, that's for sure:)
It's all in who you know, and law students can know some pretty influential people. Not just well-known lawyers, but judges, and even people in office. I have a friend who's doing her internship at a law firm that just so happens to have a senator as one of the partners.
Last time I went to get tags, the clerk asked the guy in front of me if he wanted the next tag. He asked why & she showed it to him. He laughed & said no, and she said that most people don't.
I was curious, of course. And being the type who usually likes what others shun, I asked what the tag was... Yep, I drove off with HXU 666 (Hex You:)
The only disadvantage to a powered electrostatic filter is the possibility of the creation of ozone.
Wait. Not to sound like a dumbass, but isn't this a *good* thing? I thought there was a shortage of ozone due to cars or cow farts or something like that...
From what I understand, the big difference is how the individual cases are referenced. IANAL, but my gf is a law student:) Basically, when referencing prior judgements during a case/trial, you'd use something like "volume 3, page 453, paragragh 3". There's only one "standard" reference that anyone will understand what the heck you're talking about. The actual cases are public domain, but the index/ref. #s are copywrited. So whoever wants to can publish the info, but only one source is acceptable in court. IIRC, this is LexisNexis. So if you're wanting to do anything at all practical with the info, they have a virtual monopoly.
*note: all this is from memory, & mine's not too good. But I think that's what the big deal is.
2) as it stands now, telemarketers cannot call my cell #. if portability makes it such that cell vs. landline is no longer easily identifyable and they can start calling me
Doesn't your state have a "no call list"?

I know this is a joke, but it bugs me:)
Of course it can be both new *and* improved.
It can definitely be new & *worse*, just look at the new Coke (assuming you remember that fiasco). That's why they stress the improved part.
I had to glance over at mine, because I was thinking it had ~5 buttons. There is an on button, an off button, 5 main navigation buttons, and 3 "system" like buttons. My 6yo has no problems using it.

Good post, though.

Does anyone have a file name & size to look for?
I loved his "it's a comic, get over it" responses. Really, people take things waaayyy to seriously most of the time.
That's the first thing that jumped out at me, too :)

Man, that was a good one. And I even *like* Kelly Osbourne :)
Have you ever found yourself saying "Hey, y'all, watch this!"???
:)
Sorry, I couldn't resist

You should have known that only a dumbass would've made a smartass comment like that.
A day late, but better late than never, right? :D

Stop it! You're making too much sense to be here on /.
I have one of the Archos units. Yes, they're pretty good. The camera attachment is fun, but you have to have good lighting to use it.
