When you gas people with the exhaust from a running internal combustion engine and then burn the bodies, you release a lot of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
Ever read a book called “What Makes Sammy Run?” about the world’s biggest scumbag, a Hollywood schemer named Sammy Glick? Well, Sammy Glick had nothing on Eric Schmidt. I’m still kind of stunned because the guy just called me to talk about Nexus One and he’s acting like there’s no problem. Or maybe he knows there’s a problem and he’s just calling to see what I’ll say, like he’s daring me to call him on out on this, because honestly that is the kind of sick sadistic twisted little fuck he is. He’s got zero shame. None. Zero.
And I know I should just be all cool and say nothing about any of that and just pretend I’m busy and don’t have time to chat, but somehow this sleazy fucker gets to me and I just lose my Zen and start giving him shit.
I’m like, Dude, do you not remember all that stuff you told me about not making a phone, back when you were still not recusing yourself from iPhone discussions during board meetings? You swore, and I mean you looked me in the eye and swore, that you would never make a phone. He says, We’re not making a phone. HTC is making it.
I told him if he wanted to use that line on the retards in the hackery that’s one thing but please don’t insult me with it. He goes, Okay, it’s our phone. But we’re just trying to give consumers more choice and grow the ecosystem by forming strategic partnerships and enhancing the value of the user experience by promoting openness and innovation to create solutions that better address user needs because at the end of the day Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful.
I’m like, What did you just say? He goes, I have no idea. I’m reading it from a card here on my desk.
So I ask him what about all the crap he told me about how they weren’t ever going to build a phone, and he says, At the time I made those statements, they were true. I wasn’t lying.
- Final photos (finished jpegs) and source files (RAW and DNG) stored on desktop computer's hard disk (primary)
- Final photos and source files backed up to external drive next to desktop computer (backup 1)
- Final photos and source files backed up to shared drive on network share (backup 2)
- Final photos and source files backed up to cloud storage (Amazon S3) (backup 3)
- Final photos also stored online with photo service (SmugMug) (for sharing and management more than anything else, but if primary and backups 1-3 are lost then having all final photos stored with SmugMug could save me)
Primary and backup 1 are on separate drives connected to the same computer, so anything that damages that computer could destroy primary and backup 1.
Primary, backup 1, and backup 2 are in the same room in the same house, so anything that damages that house could destroy primary and backups 1 and 2.
Backup 3 and SmugMug's copies are stored at Amazon's US datacentre, so anything that damages my house and Amazon's datacentre could conceivably destroy all my copies of all my files.
Ahhh, nothing like a good ol' Stalinist purge. I presume that very shortly we'll see shocking reports of how Ozzie and Muglia were RESPONSIBLE for all of Microsoft's huge fuckups...
A. The government is taking down domain names without warrants
B. The government is pressuring hosts to remove services
C. The government is encouraging if not mandating ISP to throttle bit torrents
D. The government is tracking US citizens Via their Credit cards, telephone conversations, Internet traffic and cellphones without warrants.
E. All sorts of other nefarious things we aren't aware of yet...
So America, how's that hopey changey thing working out for you?

It will be difficult for Apple after Steve Jobs is gone, but it doesn't mean Apple will fail. Both Ford and Disney were run by charismatic founders, but they both managed to make a good transition over time.
The thing is, the good transition that Disney made was... to Steve Jobs. See "Pixar".

Since 2006 NZ Actors' Equity has been an 'autonomous' branch of the Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance and has been an affiliate member of the Council of Trade Unions under its MEAA name. It was struck off the Ministry of Economic Development's Register of Incorporated Societies last week under its registered name of Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance.
It is therefore an unregistered union under the Employment Relations Act and is therefore legally unable to negotiate a collective agreement for its members. It's also illegal for Peter Jackson to enter into negotiations with them for the same reason.
So what we have is an Australian union attempting to subvert NZ workers through a process that can't be legally resolved.
What's more we have an Australian union attempting to subvert NZ workers because a collective agreement hasn't been signed, not because of worker pay rates.
In 1996, Steve Jobs announced that "If I were running Apple, I would milk the Macintosh for all it's worth -- and get busy on the next great thing. The PC wars are over. Done. Microsoft won a long time ago."
That strategy seems to have worked pretty well for him, don'tcha think?

You ignorant fucking... American. It's the only insult I can think of that adequately conveys the arrogant entitled total full-of-shitness that you embody.

Actually my service terms from Amazon use the plural "Amazon's US datacenters" so I imagine the data is distributed up the wazoo.

This action by the US Government is a clear win for Wikileaks. It is EXACTLY what Wikileaks intends for its targets to do. Wikileaks's clear publicly-stated goal is for secretive corporate and government "conspiracies" to react to leaking by restricting internal communications. http://zunguzungu.wordpress.com/2010/11/29/julian-assange-and-the-computer-conspiracy-%E2%80%9Cto-destroy-this-invisible-government%E2%80%9D/

- Invade countries with oil to get oil to run the toys you use to invade countries
- PROFIT!

No, the problem with Wave is that it is a technical solution to a problem THAT NOBODY HAS.
You need to work on your snappy-comeback skills.
