The ESA, NASA and JPL have collaborated on this project since this appears to scaled up version of Spitzer Space Telescope with 6 years of advanced technology and lesson learned from Spitzer Space Telescope.

Good luck ESA with sending Herschel and Planck in space.

Boy, from the current responses you should be on "Cheaters" TV show. Also this will put the private investigators of this show out of business since you in theory can track anyone you want without the trailing them and the fancy gear they have.
But you can turn off the tracking feature on all phones except for E911, in which that case you really wanted to be found if you call 911.

Correct. With those video cameras they have at most shopping places now they can look the video who did and catch them this way. If in doubt go to the place where you shop and talk to them direct about the "ticket" so you can find out if it for real.

Any form of transmittable broadcast information can be cloned and hacked, so like you, don't trust them. I have an FasTrak on my car but it is stored in a metal case to prevent it from being cloned or tracked for no good reason.
All companies that sell RFID and government agencies claim that their "technology" is safe, unhackable and unclonable but they haven't allow the real world (at least the hackers world) to have at it and truly prove they are safe, unhackable and unclonable. However, over time any encryption technology can be cracked with better and faster computers so any RFID can be cracked.

Stupid for them to have an expiration date that early. They should have the expiration date on February 17, 2009 so you have the time to buy the converter and if necessary, get a new antenna (if you still want broadcast TV) or get other methods getting TV shows (ie Cable).
