    The only problem with your argument is that in order to have the information to chalk it up, you have to be able to access the wireless network. Thus, you are 'mooching' the bandwidth, even if it is for a couple of seconds.

    You can get all that info by pasively listening to a publicly free band, Its kinde like listening in on the police with a scaner, they never lose any bandwith by doing that.
    The only thing they would actualy lose, and this is far fetched, is signal strengt, but a care driving past will also cause that

    install PS2 linux and discover you have deleted all your saved data from your memory card

    Well for companys your absolutly right.
    But for ppl like me who just want to learn pix, buying one for that reason seems a bit silly.

    My 1200 runs around 35-45C dependend on ambiant temp
    cooled by a vulcano6 and some artic silver and a Enermax PSU.
    and like another poster already said, those orbs where POS, only thingthey where good for was catching dust

    Your great-grandmother's ring has another advantage. With a diamond ring bought today you can't be sure it is not a " blood [plus.com] diamond [plus.com]". But a really old one will predate the mining of blood diamonds.

    That mightbe the point in th US of corporations, but that doesnt make it so in the rest of the world. (countrary to what current USA president thinks, ok maybe in the UK since Blair seems to have as much backbone as an amoebe)

    Phone teft is big buisnes, its not just the 15 year old kids stealing them.
    We are talking about containers here.
    If sameone steals a box of 500 phones and sels the phones to me, i change the IMEI, now It is easy to prove I knew they where stolen. Zhy else would i change the IMEI on 500 phones, If it is a criminal act. if it wasnt criminal i could argue i did it so i can see if ppl bring broken phones back, that they bought them from me.
    Yes fencing is also ilegal but sometime verry hard to prove

    Its piss easy, Its about as hard as hooking a mouse to a computer, maybe my NIC example was not the best, as other ppl mentiont think of it as the Chasis(sp?) number on your car.

    The only reason that a IMEI exists is to track stolen phones.

    you are still alowed to do that, There is no connection between IMEI and your phone number.
    IMEI is more like a MAC adress your phone number is pure software,(actualy bound to the sim#)
    So bad example.

    dont think it works (atleast verry well)
    AFAIK the litle buggers hunt on Co2/heat, other types seem to hunt on smell/heat
    anyway, dry ice doesnt realy give off much heat, but having dry ice all over the place looks cool tho

    You think all those kids running photoshop are going to fork out 918.00 Euro for it if they cant pirate it ?
    Hell No, They Either not going to bother doing GFX stuff, or use an other product they can copy.
    End result less ppl knowing how to use Photoshop enter the labour market, more ppl knowing how to use Widgetshop, companies start switching from Photoshop to Widgetshop, adobe loses market share

    Thats why i hate these things, I dont doubt your answer is the "correct one" but it is so flawed, the solution can not be safely used in real life.
    So my answer was "run to the 7/11 and buy some more.

    Never got the hang of these type of questions, have some old school grades to prove it :)
