So it took us 10 years to find a reset button. Good job guys, I have real hope for the future now.
On a serious note thanks for the rundown noidentity, this acctually makes me want to read the full article more then the summary did.
It would be more relevant if they included men in this study. I've found both sexes to be untrustworthy. Normal, socialized humans appear to have an instinct for being immoral.
Dude if you're trying to score points with women, remember this is/. there are none.
I wanted to gauge computer usage in Idaho to my area so I compared the Craigslist Rants and Raves in East Idaho to my area...yeah next to Buffalo NY either East Idaho is Heaven on Earth or NOBODY owns\ knows what a computer is.
I would imagine they place trap accounts\machines in Idaho or they do a survey. In the later case the data would be scewed out of this world because only the useless gits who open and subscribe to spam do those surveys.
Wouldn't it make more scence to instead of banning knives teach first aid and self defence? That way when the thuggie teenager comes at the boy scout (Who doesn't have a knife because little Willy Whinealot is afraid of them) he will be able to defend himself?
Yeah, I think they were hit for "paying off" big manufactors NOT to buy competitors products. IMO this isn't slacking though; I'd imagine with all of the bribes and negotiations that took place they would had to have been very pro-active.
Wrong, the Universal soldier who feels no pain would train until he did physical harm to himself and would no longer be useful. The Universal soldier who felt no fear would see no reason NOT to run at the pill box and therefore not have a reason to find a better way in.
All of you Genetisists with your fancy degrees start discovering stuff, but remember if you start playing god again we are going to complain to the governement...
All of you Nuclear Physists start making your reactors and glowey things, but not in my back yard! I don't want that nuclear waste making my McDonalds Double Cheesburger unhealthy!
The same for all of you green energy people with your wind turbines you need to start building this renewable energy! but not in my neighborhood you're destroying the value on my now worthless house!
Clearly this is everyone's fault except for mine, now if you'll excuse me I'm late for second job delivering pizza's I'm glad I never went to college otherwise I might be expected to do something about this! - The American Public
Solidox welding rods are more effective then your "empty a bunch of fireworks\shotgun shells\pour on lighter fluid" methods. Geez I thought every geek read the cookbook...
Or do you load a couple rounds and have your gun in hand every time the doorbell rings? Really? Do you leave your gun with bullets in it, lying around where your toddler can grab it readily?
Barrel lock on my rifle, loaded magazine at all times. If it were a handgun I would suggest a trigger lock but I think firearms should intimidate potential assaliants there by giving them the chance to back off and avoid being shot, so a rifle is my personal choice for home defence. After all do you know how hard it is to get blood out of carpet? And it will always ruin the paint on your walls.

What if the answer is an overly active sex life and a lack of commitment to one particular women?
Then you've just made a new friend\wingman "giggity giggity goo, alright". You should then follow up with questions about company health care coverage for illegitimate children. Don't judge us! Swingers are people too!

I had to look this up because it was at least the 5th time it was used in this thread. Thank you cousins to the east who find it increasingly nessacary to remind us that we no longer speak the same language:p.
Come on now Armored Core does VERY well on consoles IMO, and I don't care who you are that series is twice as complex as Mechwarrior ever was! Don't get me wrong I grew up on Mechwarrior and would not have given AC a chance if it weren't for Mechwarrior 2 laying the ground work. I'm just saying that you don't have to dumb anything down just because you feel like there aren't enough buttons.
Which one? Norinco is one of the largest knock-off artisits in the world, I bet they've replicated at least one or two AT firearms. I should note the guy who started this thread tho was keeping his argument to small arms which the above mentioned firearms would not be. I want to take this moment to remind everyone of the little para-military scare that we in the US saw in the 90's, does anyone else remember this? Those training camps in Texas and Montana and such? You may remeber them as being affiliated with certain extreamist or maybe fanatically right wing groups? I grant you that the ATF\FBI has done a fine job of extinguishing the credible threats (Kudos guys) but it proves that if people want to recieve training for combat outside of the military then it can and has happend. All that is missing is the leadership for such a group and the will to do so, and as an American I can say that things are no where near so bad that it is worth getting shot for. Moral of story, life in America = good but it has happend here before.
Where the hell is Mortal Kombat? This panel of experts sucks. I agree Street Fighter II was good and influential but I seem to remember A LOT more noise made about every one MK game then the entire Street Fighter franchise.
Scripted scenes can be scary for the player if they are done well like in Doom 3, but they are only scary the first or maybe the second time. Scary noises work better for people watching the game being played, Left 4 Dead has scary noises that MEAN something and it worked for them. L4D's random element is really cool because it does keep you on your toes but that's different from the jump up from your desk and throw your controller effect that you get the first time from scripts. Since most people seem to enjoy the later type for it's replayability then seed your games with random events to keep it feeling fresh, game critics on the other hand won't be judging you based on their 5th time playing so keep some scripted events for the shock value. Make sure the weapons are useful and at fun but keep ALL of the players resources (health, ammo, armor, friendly AI) scarce. Dead Space had a nice feel to it because it didn't allow me to get comfortable with one gun and one tactic but at the same time switching to another gun didn't ruin that part of the game. If you insist on being the guy who forces the player into a corner with a wrench or a lead poll then play BF 2142, ALL melee weapons should work like the Combat Knife that is one hit one kill but it doesn't work if you're pressing up against them it requires at least some skill. Latley I've been seeing a trend in the FPS genre toward Agro damage, stuff like this wouldn't feel right in a true horror game unless maybe it had a diminishing return and even then it would cause it to lean more toward run and gun. Super-soldiers aren't fun to play this kind of game with; but I personally enjoy the chances to dominate or ambush zombies on occasion, it's a good stress reliever and reminds the player that the game is fun.
I think a second tier would be a school that is very credible but not to famous. A prime example in my mind is Caltech I only know about it because my Uncle graduated there. This kind of place is held in high regard in certain circles but generally unknown to others. What keeps Caltech from being 'third tier' to me is the $1.86 Billion dollar endowment and the amazing amount of R&D done there.
Hey, I'm interested in this kind of stuff. It shows what The US Geological Survey guys can do in real time. Also it is interesting to those nerds concerned about getting to work on time, do you remember all those facts about how much US oil comes out of the gulf? I am SO glad I get a bus pass from where I work. You have to realize that there is more to nerds then PCB's and software.
What about when they invade your oilfields? I'm using "your" in the "Iraq's and Saudi Arabia's" sense
Right, we knew what you meant. Those oil field that belong to the US :)
Wy do people think things like TiVO, Hulu,... are so successful?
I believe the general public is tired of be bombarded to "BUY MORE!"
Which is why they BOUGHT a TiVO and\or a Hulu...

90% of shots fired in gun fights miss, even when the shooter is a cop, and even when they aren't supposed to miss.
You must live in LA.
Or do you load a couple rounds and have your gun in hand every time the doorbell rings? Really? Do you leave your gun with bullets in it, lying around where your toddler can grab it readily?

I did this test on the bills in my pocket and let me tell you the percentage was MUCH higher the 90%! Oh wait... No I remember why...

So immediatly following a true DDoS attack on these sites you provide links to them so that they can then be \.'d this...is...awsome.

Chinese guns can take out tanks can they?

No this would be treated the same as a polygraph for the sake of evidence.
