    It's 1024 KB, and a KB is 1024 bytes, making it 1024x1024 or 1,048,576 bytes

    Wasn't the first military FPS a Doom mod? I remember seeing something on a TV show about the military training marines with a Doom mod (I didn't really belive it)

    He could have had his memory erased post-episode II... the very end of the movie is the beginning of the clone wars, which more than likely lasted for more than 10 minutes. He might just be remembering the middle or even just the end of the wars when he came into wedge antilles' hands.

    I think that this will require a much higher amount of gameplay balance than even Starcraft did... especially with all the RPG elements.

    I hope they can pull this off and make it good.

    Glide was a lot harder to use than GL or D3D too -- you had to write your own 3D math, Glide was more or less just for using the Voodoo to apply textures (and more importantly, for multitexturing)

    Exactly.
    This is where i think Metallica shot themselves in the foot.
    Nobody I knew (except for geeks) even heard about downloading music (except for 3 second .wav clips) in MP3 format, let alone Napster. Then Metallica goes along and sues Napster, and the napster user base increased exponentially almost overnight. If they would have just kept there mouth shut, only a very small percentage of the population would have actually been swapping music on P2P apps.

    not trying to troll here, but does anyone still listen to TAFKAP? I always thought that 99% of the 80s died out with the decade (Unlike older stuff from the 60s and 70s, like Beatles, Hendrix, Zeppelin, Sabbath, etc. that are still gaining fans)

    With all this MS licensing crap, why do schools even consider going with it? Even if they don't go to Linux/BSD, iMacs are perfectly good replacements for windows, and they can do anything a Windows station can (that a school would need, anyways)

    another thing: (assuming this is going to be a Windows based game)

    Have your game NOT show in the taskbar (nosy bosses might notice) but as a systray icon (smaller and less noticable) preferably with a non-gamer-related (or user selectable) icon

    _somebody_ has to pay for the bandwidth/servers required to host thousands of gamers at once with as little lag as possible... it's not cheap

    I believe Truman and his staff estimated the American casualties for invading mainland Japan to be 1 million+.
    Because of how the Japanese were (are?), every SINGLE person (save a very small minortiy... less than 1% probably) in the country would defend the Emperor to the death... We would have to have basicly killed everone in the entire country.

    Face it, if it wasn't for the nukes, Japan wouldn't exist.
