I'll do you one better. My last name is very close to Joachimsthal. Just remove 2 letters. If you look at my user id and you can figure out one of them.
This is exactly what I was thinking. They can't really police all the auctions to look for "cash at pickup" and "free delivery service with prepayment", now can they?
Hmmm. Never though to check until just now. I see mine is prime. If you need some help figuring out step 2, let me know. Maybe we can brainstorm on it.
Back in '94 or '95, I was working the night shift in the QC dept of a small local machine shop. We had a manually-operated, computer-controlled measuring machine. (Aside: The software ran on OS/2, which I loved.) When "writing" an inspection program, the machine would ask you to measure a part feature, then input the ideal location, ideal size and tolerance data. The program would pop-up a dialog box with the measured data and spaces for the ideal data. There was a button to bring up a second window to enter this ideal data. Version 1 of the program allowed us to enter the data directly in the 1st dialog box, so I never understood the need for a second box to do the same thing. After about 6 months, version 2 came out. The first time I tried my normal routine of entering in the main dialog, I found that the text boxes were disabled. I called the company to report this bug, and they told me the bug was in Version 1 - it should never have allowed me to input ideal dimensions into the main window. I asked nicely if they would consider putting it back, as I now had to move my hands to the mouse and click around a few times instead of just tabbing and typing. Happily, version 2.1 included the "bug" again. This has to be the only time I ever asked for a bug to be included.
All you have to do when presented with the dialogs is click the "X" to close the windows. It still goes through, and it still shows the page you want to go to. I looked at several pages on her site and not once did I agree to any of her "terms".

Yeah. Awesome.

There's another easy method for block the RFID chip from being read: XActo knives. Cut the damn thing out of the card. I got an AMEX card with RFID chip in it (never mind I've NEVER seen a reader for it at any place I shop), and I cut the chip out with a knife. If anyone asks why there's a hole in my card I explain it to them. Of course, that usually results in blank stares. In fact, it reminds me of going in to Radio Shack.
Hell, I'm running both my Creative Zen Micro and my wife's on ages old firmware simply because I can't stand the 4 hour poweroff timer in the newer versions. The old firmware would wait 24 hours before completely powering off. The new one does it after 4. A complete power down loses the position in the current track. You have to set a bookmark to save it across a complete power down. I listen to lots of podcasts that are 20 to 90 minutes long. I stop when I get home and resume the next morning, and do the same at work/lunch/going home. It's a major PAIN IN THE ASS to have to remember to set a bookmark every time I have to quit for more than 4 hours. So, I kept copies of the older firmware installers and downgraded after about 2 days. Creative says the 4 hour limit is to improve battery life, but I just charge the damn thing every other day (at least) and I have absolutely no complaints.
Hell, I just went to see Batman Begins last night. (EXCELLENT movie, BTW) There were 5 other people in the theater and 2 of them left half way through the movie, right when he said "I'm Batman". Not sure if they hated it or had seen it already.
A Wednesday night months after the release is definitely the time to go see a movie!
That's why my new system at work has 8 USB ports built into it. 6 in back for all the permanent devices and 2 in front for temporary. Plus, my flat panel LCD has a 4 port hub built into it. 2 in back by the power/video cords and 2 on the left/top (it rotates 90 degrees) edge. So without the purchase of any additional hubs, I have 11 usable USB ports, of which 4 are extremely accessible.
They need to come drive some of the roads by me (NW Chicago suburbs). There's more than a few dead spots on roads I drive on a regular basis. I'm guaranteed to lose my signal if I'm talking to someone while driving them.
Are you the same idiot that commented the TFA?
It's called the North Magnetic Pole because it's the magnetic pole at the north end of the planet!

Ever think that it's just some artistic license.... a littler hyperbole maybe?
Remove the 0x20 padding, convert back to decimal and divide by 100 and you get $46.88
$150 million? Is that all? Just use the bonuses you stole from AIG employees!

The best pair of noise canceling headphones you can find. 4 racks of equipment in your office? I'd go bonkers in about a day.
Do what I do. Ask them to hold just a moment, then transfer their call to 202-762-1401.

But this one goes to 11!
How many stories that say exactly this same thing have we seen in the past 10 years? Stuff that matter? I don't think so.
Also remember that IE is preinstalled on virtually every computer sold. You have to go out of your way to get and install Firefox

So what if they're sequentailly numbered? I get sequential bills from ATMs all the time. The real problem would be if they all had the same number!
