I found your ship analogy a little too complicated. Can you re-explain what they are trying to do, using a simpler analogy, hopefully one involving a car?
I happen to own a nokia n810, and I believe that it's ebook reading ability, particularly pdf, is excellent. It is probably my primary use for the device.
"I hope the data reported will be impartially selected, honestly gathered, clearly explained, and perfectly accurate."
At which point I was glad that the article was essentially over, because I couldn't suspend my disbelieve any longer...that, and I was laughing hysterically.
When will we learn that legislation doesn't make things magically happen?
People like to save gas, but you know what people like more?
1. They like to have enough room to comfortably drive their car, and pack there stuff for a trip.
2. They like to know, that when they get into a car wreck, that the car will protect them.
3. They like to know that when they need the power to pull a trailer, or avoid a crash that it is there when they press the pedal.
4. They like to know that they will be able to afford their damn car before they have to worry about gas.
It isn't that car manufactures don't want to produce better mileage cars, but they only have so much money to invest in research. Obviously, if it were simple to eek out more gas mileage, they would. Customers want to save money at the pumps. Results don't magically happen. More gas mileage is a trade off in: cost, power, size, and safety. With car maker struggling already to make it, this is a brutal slap in the face. This bill will do to car manufactures, what all the added security after 9/11 did to airline companies.
I am pretty sure that the first thought, of the mother and kids in the library, when they saw/heard your pants vibrating, did not involve your enhanced sense of direction.
Way back in the day, I decided that I would figure out what this unix thing was. Someone had given me a copy of some version of it. I spent two weeks getting that damn thing running, and that was with an exhaustive guide. Course most of the time was spent compiling everything on a 386. Once I got it all running, I was too ignorant of such things to really accomplish much more than basic tasks with it. So I quickly got frustrated with it and went back to windows 3.1.
Fast forward to today, where I run Ubuntu for my main computer, debian on my servers, and my windows computer only gets used for gaming.
If I am gay, it means I am a guy who is sexually/romantically interested in other guys.
If am transgendered, it means I may or may not be attracted to other guys, but I feel like a woman, in a mans body. I find that I understand women better than men. I have the same desires as women, I might feel the desire to dress like a woman, and I would feel that I am much more comfortable with women.
In contrast, I could be a man's man and still be gay. In fact, contrary to popular stereotype, many gay men are much more manly than their straight counterparts.
I do the best coding in my room, my one computer playing music, or a movie, while I code on the other. My fridge nearby for a quick soda or beer. Although, if I had a good laptop and a secure connection, I think a quite coffee shop would be the best coding environment. It would provide an endless stream of caffeine and calming influence, while still providing enough entertainment to give me a moments distraction when I needed it.
Transgender people feel that they are trapped in the wrong gender body. They face much of the same stigma as LBGQ people. They are often mislabeled as gay. Thus they often find themselves in the same category as the rest regardless of where they would like to be.
To decrypt the information at each interchange. I think I a better solution would be to just re-encrypt the encrypted data at each exchange as well as the key to decrypt the previous encryption round. That way, when the data finally gets to the end of the line, the machines can just unpeal the layers of encryption.
I remember working on stressful coding job, where the stress and coffee flowed in unending streams. When I finally started taking stock of things, I was drinking about 8-10 cups of coffee a day, and by cups, I mean my mug which held about 2 cups. I spent an entire summer doing that. When I realized just how much caffeine and coffee I was consuming, I immediate cut down to no more than three cups a day. I now drink less than a cup a day on average, but I have never noticed any withdrawal effects other than a mild caffeine induced headache. The effects of drinking as much caffeine as I previously mentioned, were much more noticeable: lousy balance, occasional uncontrollable trembling, body aches, lousy immune system, dull throbbing sensation, racing heart, and a tendency to develop zits.
Since I have an interest in CG and filmography I downloaded the workprint just because I wanted to see how they blended the CG with real effects. I will be seeing the movie in theaters as well.

I only have to worry about a shrinking penis.

Talk to Ron Paul. He is developing an anti-pirate solutions right now.
I love how the bill starts with the classic, "for the children" clauses to rationalize the trampling of the bill of rights.
You make the check out to me. Because I am such a nice guy, you only need to make it out to about 6 digits.

Or disregarding the first and last letters, and employing mild dyslexia: 69
Which makes it interesting enough for me to click!

All the hottest chimps get fat. Seems like a bad system to me.
Am I the only one that had to read it more than once?
1. Will, Wright Leaves EA/Maxis For Stupid Fun Club?
2. Will Wright Leaves EA/Maxis For Stupid, Fun, Club.
3. Will Wright Leaves EA/Maxis For Stupid, Fun Club
4. Will Wright Leaves EA/Maxis, For Stupid, Fun, Club
Go figure.
I laugh, but it really isn't funny.

I bet with a little engineering these things can be turned into microphones
*Goes and puts on tinfoil hat*
They seem to have about as much grasp of math as some one the chicks in my last calculus class.
It's global warming, man.

First they take our SUV's and now they take our beer? That's just cruel.
Really? Who actually backs things up? *Ducks for cover*
