No, but how about in the same ballpark. I'm not about to throw some red berries in my mouth just because I found them myself. If a fish doesn't die out of water, don't you think that's a little weird?
It really won't be that popular until xbox mod chips don't require soldering in 20 points. I wouldn't be willing to fry my xBox to have linux run on it.
I don't see xBox hacking getting as popular as Tivo hacking or even Audrey hacking until they can overcome the need to solder to the mother/daughter/whatever card.
I think the project is cool though, regardless. I'm sure by the time they get it figured out so that any pseudo-hacker can do it, MS will have xBox^2 out. [xCube/xBox^3 ??]
I'm not sure why everyone is looking to "screw" MS anyways. Just do it because you can, not because you are trying to stick it to them.. for what I really don't know. Perhaps the annoying paperclip *shrug*

Sometimes it's good to see other human beings. After going to blockbuster, you don't feel so guilty hacking away at your computer all day. Personally, I hate blockbuster and rent from the local guy. You know the local guy, because he's the one with the louvered doors going into the XXX section...
They don't require any maintenance and if you forget about them for a few weeks, no big deal. Occasionally, I'll put in the dark for a few days to stop the algae growth and to satisfy my god complex.
I had mine for about a year now and my 4 little brine friends are still running in circles.
Sometimes the truth is hard to swallow. I read what you have wrote and the only thing I can do is thank you for the enlightment. Although I wasn't the original poster, I probably would have posted something similar.
I tend to post on/. articles that probably have lived past their prime, but I guess I feel satisified that I said what i wanted.
Anyway, my point is that after further reading, I don't feel like I *have* to switch to another layout. Relearning how to type would be a huge pain and due to the fact that I would still have to use several different layouts, it's probably easier to stap with the wrist numbing qwerty style.

Very cool web-etech-a-sketch.
I might as well plug my weather page. Nothing inovative, but it was fun to do.
PocketPC and Cellphone combined. Nothing against Palm, but I an TS into my windoze boxes remotely using the Terminal Services for CE client along with our VPN client which is also ported to WinCE.
.. for never creating w2k drivers for my old logitech beige ring quickcam. They said they were developing drivers and then they just gave up and said on the "darker ring" webcams would get new support. Bah!
Not to mention they won't open up their driver specs so that a linux usb driver can be created. [unlike Philips, who does]

My point? Quickcam was a kick ass company/product until Logitech bought it.
What I'm really looking for is a 50 buck digital webcam that I can put on my keychain where I can snag an image or two and quality isn't the biggest concern. i.e. I see a cool item at Costco that I want to show the wife. I snap some pics and show her when I get home.
As a previous/. poster already stated, it must have a unlimited internet access plan, seperate from the cell phone usage.
If the Treo would use a standard voice plan and a internet access setup like Palm's, the device would be pretty killer. As it stands now though, you must use your voice minutes to do simple tasks like checkemail.
Even though it's Wince based, this has the general characteristics of a perfect PDA, minus the necessary keyboard, which will soon be available:
We use to have Doom/Quake all night parties that lasted from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. The cleaning people thought it was weird that there were so many empty coke and pizza boxes waiting for them on monday morning!
Here are some pics, definately some of the best times I ever had... although I thought my hand would fall off after all the GAME playing

I guess little Ralph Willgum said it best:
Bart: What do they taste like Ralph?
Ralph: It tastes like.. burning.

... the /. posters that actually caught this fish and then ate it, not knowing what the hell it was!
While not really a "pet", they are great for geeks. I have one at work.

Don't ask questions, just go to your local library. Love this and then read this
.. so we can put it in the Smithsonian.
;-)
Thanks

How dare Mars have an old dried up lake bigger than Texas.
In related news, France surrenders to the Lynx browser.

Suckers shop there. I absolutely hate that store! The sales people are idiots and everything is overpriced.
Cheer! I made a similar reply on this same thread. I had the same exact problem with Logitech. I miss the days when webcams came from Quickcam.
