In KDE 3.2.x (not sure about early versions) klipper gives you the option to control this feature a lot. You can have it completely sync the two clipboards at all times, you can turn off selection copying, you can keep them sperate...whatever floats your boat.
This is what I am REALLY wanting from something that runs on Linux. OpenOffice and Koffice both are lacking this feature. I use Koffice because it + kde + xinerama does a better job than OpenOffice does. But once I start the slideshow I can only go forward and back, I can't control it easily from the main app (which I can still see). The first alternative office suite to do this will get my vote.
This is a good thing for most of us. I currently have TechTV and love it. Now I will be keeping all my shows I love from TechTV and gaining a few extra from G4. This time of year is the only real reason to have G4...e3 coverage!
Wow, so you are saying that Tetris (the first Gameboy game ever) magically pulled my high scores out of its butt? Or wait...could it be there was a battery backup in that little cart:P
The first game to use the battery was the original Zelda in the US...since then saves have been possible.
Someone here obviously isn't using the 2.6 kernel tree with the happy new scheduler and timer. I can be happily compiling openoffice and still watch dvd's, play music, browse the web...anything else?
Actually the n64, super nes and game boy didn't have any region locking (like our newer optical media based systems). These cart systems actually used physical means of blocking you out. The N64 had different "notches" on each system only letting you put carts in for your region, but that was nothing a little filing couldn't fix.
Well, I am the one that "handed out the link to their CVS", if you want to say that. They did a bit more than threat, they had their realestate laywer call me and start threatening me with the DMCA. The moment he realized I had half a clue and had actually read the TOS they had failed to he started backing down REALLY quickly. It was actually pretty fun. In the end their lawyer said I should say I was sorry;)
When I was signing my contracts for the job I have now (have had it for three years or so) the initial contract had a very vague and broad reaching clause about what they considered a conflict of interest. I work for a web hsoting company and they basically said "anything that deals with the web is a no no for you". I said "there is no way I am signing that, it needs to say *this*". They accepted my modfided wording to narrow the scope to what we really do and all was good:)
Game Developers aren't used to a multiple CPU setup? Are you crazy....The PS2 is a big multi processor monster. It has its main cpu, main gpu, and then two vector processing units that developers have to work to keep feed at all times. Anyone that has developed for the PS2 (which is darn near EVERY console developer) is very familiar with programming in this sort of a setup.
The nvidia kernel driver has been easy to get working with 2.6 since the 2.5.x days. Problem is, they still haven't fixed the nasty mangled console bug that has been in the last three versions. It is always great to exit X windows and have to reboot before I can go back into X windows or else it will lock up my box. But...even if I exit X windows my console is so mangled I can barely use it any how...this sure has promoted my use of X and only X:)
You only have to build a digest because this ebuild isn't in the official portage tree. Had it been in the gree a simple emerge koffice would suffice...or if you are really stupid you could just use one of the gui portage browsers and "click" the install button.
You really should consider learning before you speak...other wise you look like an idiot.
While I am not unemployeed, I am working on a start up on the side developing Indie Computer Games. While "indie" games have budgets near $20k-$50k we are looking to produce games for only around $100 total (not counting our time as a cost). So far so good. Our first game is due out in under a month. I hope it flies:)
I mean come on! Where are the Matrix movies? I mean...Trinity...dying...that performance alone deserves a nomination. Or what about the costumes...dirty torn good will shirts in a cave! AMAZING! I mean I could keep going on this, but I am just to mad at the academy...those fools!
Konq isn't a web browser, or a file manager...it just happens to have KIOslaves that do these things (like KHTML for web browsing). There are other kio slaves I personally use in KDE 3.2 like smb:// fish:// audiocd:// and a few more...how many of them work? They are what makes konq powerful and useful and desired.
It appears someone missed how pissed of the General was that that EMP went off. While it did take the machines down for a moment, it also shut down all that remained of the human's defense up top too. So once the rest of the machines got through (that were out of EMP range) the human's were screwed. Did you not notice how many Squid's where at the templ enterance right as Neo made his deal with the Source?
They didn't realize people could get to the source code if they removed the CVS link from their project page. They are pretty pissed I posted the link:)

SCO's not going to be happy about this

Gentoo already did it Fedora did it now Slackware...didn't Debian already? who's next?

Not in 1.3.1 :P
It is File->Statistics.

Umm, where do you get this? AMD compares themself to Intel chips for those scores. A 3200+ is way more than 3.2x's faster than a 1ghz Duron.

Personally I just had alsacntl set it for me once and called it good.
But if you liked changing you volume settings via the kpanel applet a lot that would be annoying.

Koffice 1.3 ebuild
be sure to do: emerge koffice-1.3.ebuild digest
Then build build build away!
Get the build here
:)
Be sure to do: emerge koffice-1.3.ebuild digest
Then emerge it and enjoy

They are cheap and somewhat original :) I bought three different friends them and they where very happy...15 bux...that was cheap :P
