    How many more of these rip-off stories before the BSD license is modified (or replaced with the GPL) to prevent commercial exploitation?

    While it may be good karma to freely share your code, there's no obligation for anyone using the code to be a good citizen and give back to the community. How do BSD developers feel about their taxpayer dollars being spent on software that they wrote, but almost certainly won't see one cent of it?

    You've got it backwards. Microsoft is US, Iraq doesn't want the US invading their country, ergo Iraq doesn't want Microsoft invading their country.
    Linux is the logical solution - and the price is right. :-)

    You have the right to ask the police officer for their ID. If you cannot confirm that they are indeed
    a police officer, you have no obligation to give them your ID.
    (However, saying "If you show me your's, I'll show you mine" will probably get you arrested.)

    In the past, I would have taken you to task over this point.
    However, having tried Thief 3 (Deadly Shadows) it seems to me that Ion Storm have missed the point
    (i.e. lost the plot) and spoiled the wonderful Thief series. :-(

    every bill has braille ...

    No braille, but the notes have intaglio print (raised ink) so that you can feel the design; this may be of use to the blind to identify the note.
    The different length of notes was to allow the use of a note gauge - insert the note, read the braille value that remains exposed.

    I wish people would stop assuming that desert is somehow worthless tracts of empty land - they've obviously never been to a desert!

    If you're serious about being environmentally friendly, convert 100x100 miles of cotton fields (heavy pesticide users) or rice paddies (heavy water users) to bio-diesel factories instead.

    Real Feta cheese is _only_ made from goat's milk; indeed, the Greeks are so pissed off by the feta-style cow's milk cheeses that they are pushing for appellation of origin controls to protect the term "Feta".

    I'm particularly fond of soft (unaged) Chèvre goat's cheese; it had a delicious tang that cow's milk cream cheeses lack.
