  16. if the culture of the job is bad enough, why not collect a few extra paychecks by just leaving without notice. It's better than waiting around to be laid off because you're too old or your management doesn't value your contributions.

    It's not like conditions will improve for the people left behind.

    I've seen people commit employment Hari-Kari by trying to use HR to address work issues. (Hint: HR doesn't work for you, and your complaints are not confidential, no matter what they tell you)

    Some technical schools require a year of Co-op blocks with paid employment at external companies. Some additionally require a senior project for graduation.

    If you're a pre-med student, or pre-law student, well that's another kettle of fish.

    to answer my phone, and keep Indian "Microsoft Technical Support" callers busy for an hour or two.

    Or route calls from unknown callers to the appropriate /dev/null mailbox. It shouldn't be quite as bad as "Lenny" as long as it keeps them busy not bothering actual humans.

    A "Smart Assistant" could also take calls and appropriately pass on information that was actually of value without filling up my phone inbox.

    There really only should be 2 Google messaging platforms.

    1) Personal.

    2) Enterprise.

    They could even share the same software.

    Trying to support/build/update more than a couple of platforms is really only some kind of programmer welfare.

    The last apple device in my home was a Mac II CX which as solely running A/UX because I needed X windows compatibility. I later moved to a Graphon X terminal using a 38K modem

    between buying bitcoin or wall street or penny stocks from an investment point of view?

    Both tend to be controlled by rumor, innuendo and flash trading, with the average person left out as anything but a source of income based on payments to provide the services of exchange.

    You can of course mine bitcoins, but lacking large amounts of free electricity and computer parts, most of the people I know with bitcoins bought them at some point, some did very well and dumped them for large gains, others just sat on them and are complaining about their current valuation.

    As usual, there are people "behind the scenes" making legendary amounts of money in either investment.
