Deep links is such a non issue with modern web servers. Any modern sandbox implementation can deny people access to files that they shouldn't be looking at directly.
they have to obey traffic laws so I think a pedestrian (hit and run) is 2 points
Some examples of one point violations:
* A traffic conviction.
* An at-fault accident.
Examples of two point violations:
* Reckless driving or hit-and-run driving
* Driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs
* Hit-and-run driving
* Driving while suspended or revoked from: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/hdbk/pgs71thru76.htm
Spoiler, BSG is nothing more than a Cylon social experiment. The 12 colonies are long dead. The first show led to the death of the humans. All the humans and cylon models are really just computers set up in a situation that happened long ago ( the first show ) to try to see if they can find earth the same way the old humans did if they really believe they are human.
Zap, theres season 5 6 7. Humans fighting future cylons. Thats the only way the series could possibly continue. New cast and all. With cameos of every character to ever be on bsg.
If the extra episodes are just more of the filler crap they had last season then I wont be watching. Battlestar is a good show when they are actually trying to tell a story. Filler like Black Market sucked. At least Lost had the balls to say the show ends in 48 episodes. If Battlestar keeps the season format they had last season you only need to watch the first 3 and last 3 episodes because everything in the middle isnt related to the story at all.
Yes I liked the show but the drama crap and all the story rewrites to try to find a new audience is pissing me off.
World of Warcraft has a horrible PVP system because Blizzard never approached Realm vs Realm in a way that made you want to help out your side because it was fun. Add in instanced PVP and the randomness that makes world PVP will always be dead.
Warhammer on the other hand seems to get this somewhat. The only problem I see is that they are asking me to invest what probably amounts to 3-5 games worth of money into their game over a year. Why will this epic combat still be epic down the line when I'm fighting the same people over the same land I've been looking at for a year. Why cant the scenarios take place on the larger battlefield. Instanced Combat is such a cop out.
"Don't worry we will have EPIC combat with predictable balanced encounters"
You killed your own arguement. Your saying that if they dont play by the rules they will get kicked out. So durrr, they have to play by the rules if they want to survive.
Also H1-B workers are here to stay. They are going to be taking over the medical field next. Just remember that there is no net loss in economics, just bumps in the road. If someones overcharging for their products another company will start and beat them at their own game. If they didn't "exploit" their workers that were happy to work for crummy wages and long hours then some other company would do it and they would be bankrupt.
Learn to deal with it. Your job in the coming years is either management or an analyst for the IT cheap workers. If your good enough your the face the client sees. Or your the quick fix guy that they know they can hire for a week and you can do the job of 4 people working for a month then pay you a shitload.
Basically if your working at a company and your not interacting with people that give your company money, ie tech. Your going to be out of a job in a few years because your not vital and management generally views you as worthless because they cant send you to a client but they cant directly fire you because you already work for them. Peons in IT work for only their company because they can fuck up.
Best way to scam someone on paypal is to: provide a service, offer one hell of a deal, require 3 months prepayment, run up a balance with the people your using to provide the service. In 3 months accept as much money as you can and run. This is done with webhosting through paypal A LOT.
It was killed by the usa because it only limits certain countries. Basically all the violators would have moved to third world countries and kyoto would have solved nothing except kill economies for the countries with tough regulations, ie the usa.
So it would cause massive health problems for small 3rd world countries and limit the production power of all major countries. What does that solve? sounds like a step back to me.
If you are paranoid you only need to drop:
api.wordpress.org
You should probably drop pingomatic too:
api.pingomatic.com

thanks for the laugh
Time to fork open office? I think so. This time without java please.
Win 2000 built a driver base for a year before XP launched. You could say XP was basically SP2.5 (ME sucked) of the 2000 kernel.
Vista SP2 will where it will become usable and it wont be adopted until SP3 or later by most companies.
The rules for a web programmer should be
1) DO NOT REINVENT THE BROWSER
2) DO NOT HINDER THE BROWSER
3) DO NOT TRUST THE USER
ror is good for concepts but I haven't seen any good examples of it in production.

Some cheap $5 fake sunglasses made in mexico probably defeat these things.
I guess you can argue that the matrix sucked because the machines should of been able to go into space for solar power.

those developers are the same ones that will bitch as much as Americans when their jobs get moved to some African country
The Philippines are the 3rd largest english speaking country. I wouldn't discount them, probably a better choice to outsource American work.

really? no virii? I get like 10-30 a day. They even even have "this has been cleaned by norton AV" or something similar.

Any decent sysadmin can fill the mail account in 8 hours or less with a 10mbit connect. So I could do it in 2 hours... if I cared.
This will make the deticated/colo server market even more cut throat.
I want a camera cell phone with a usb drive. Throw in GPS and radio/mp3/voicememo also.
Oh and flip phones suck.
That's because the bank tellers in Canada deal with Loonies.
On a few of my joe blow sites ~300,000 uniques/month 25% use some form of mozilla, firefox is like 90% of that.
