Evidently in france the thought police come after you for even thinking about nazis. What a shame really, they don't realize certain things should never be forgotten or it will happen again.
I've seen tons of places that want help desk monkeys with degrees. Its really that hard to follow the answer tree? The only people who tend to be any good are the ones who do computers for a hobby, so its clear they have a thorough understanding. Theres no shortage of people with 4 year degrees who are utter dumbasses too. My old boss had a PhD in physics and still didn't understand why square pegs don't fit in round holes.
I use IE for everything and set my own security levels and keep up to date with patches. Add a little shareware app called pop up stopper and its perfect. Tell me again why I need opera? I use what works for me, not what other people think is right.
I was listing the causes of bluescreens. I never said hardware was HIS cause but to look into the problem. A program causing a bluescreen, not likely. You people are so thick headed sometimes, its called troubleshooting. It used to work and now it doesn't. Oh well throw it away and buy a new one when 5 minutes of searching could fix it.
Well then your DBA should be looking at the cause of the bluescreens. Whats the stop error? the MS knowledgebase lists all the causes and possible fixes. Most bluescreens are caused by bad hardware or flaky drivers anyhow. Do some investigating before you switch.
This was patched over 6 months ago. Anyone not smart enough to keep an eye out for security deserves what they get. By the way I'm sick of all these people claiming how MS patches and updates break things. Tell me specific examples and then we'll talk. I am also quite aware of whats involved in patching SQL. Manually copying files running scripts blah blah and you unix guys bitch about it? Please.
VMS is probably a close second in terms of security. Its C-2 secure right out of the box. Plus most script kiddies would be left scratching their head trying to use it.
The funny part is now hearing commercials for stuff that used to only exist in banner ad form a few years ago. Miracle diet pills and elongate penis enhancers buying air time? Looks like banner ads do work because these people are still in business.
The only time the clearchannel station here can play indie or oddball bands is like 3-5am before Stern comes on. You know nobody is listening then. I often wondered how hard it would be to have some program that listens to a song for a few seconds and identifies it from a known list. Now you can have a chart of how often a song is played.
Yeah thats why the prime ministers brother had to wait a month to get his appendix out. Hell tom green didn't even have his ball removed in canada. shitty service and piss poor infrastructure? Haha examples please. And whats that yankee shit? You aren't even from canada. Only brits talk like that. In the words of judge jimbo browntown SIT YOUR ASS DOWN MOTHERFUCKER!
I feel like nuking EFNET because every one of their servers still needs ident. Ohhh so the clonebots need an extra command switch, thats really going to stop them. I'm tired of using a fake ident on a firewall or just redirecting port 113 back to the box trying to irc. Fucking drop it already. Ident was useless 10 years ago.
This morning when it snowed 3 inches and you can't go anywhere around here without hitting a nice steep hill. But then again a few cars are all wheel drive like the Eagle Talon or Subaru something or other.
Space exploration and colonization is the next logical step for any technology based society. Its like asking why someone decided to explore the north pole, because no one had been there before.
Get a shareware windows program called Cybercorder. It records from your sound card in realtime in any format you want. Mp3, ogg, whatever codecs you have installed. It has a great timer system and way of keeping track of lists. Well worth paying for unless you want to spend a weekend dicking around with cron scripts and sketchy software.
And theres no bugs whatsoever in linux or even security exploits for that matter. You're just as vulnerable running an unpatched linux box as you are a windows box. For large companies it might be more cost effective to pay someone else to handle the security, but I guess you never thought of that. Typical zealot trash.
The earth has been heating and cooling for hundreds of thousands of years. Ice ages have come and gone before and now we are just in a warming trend. The truth is humans have inhabited the planet for a very insignificant speck of time and we still know very little about the planet. Why is the center liquid? What causes magnetism? Its a theory, someday it could be proven either way.
Since when do they install payphones in alleys? Every one I've seen has been on the front of a building or by itself under a light in an open parking lot. BTW payphones here are still 35 cents, you're getting ripped off. I'd rather carry around a few coins instead of a phone that needs charging and doesn't work in certain areas.
Most secure (TEMPEST) locations require the drive be removed and locked in a safe every night. Of course two guys and a cart could just wheel the safe out.
Correct me if I'm wrong but most apps in NT4/2k/XP aren't allowed direct write access to disks or even hardware. Does this only affect win98 boxes?

If you look at the political scale Bush is on the right wing and Hitler (being a socialist) was on the left. Its laughable to even compare them.

Thank god I'm using IE!
Film cameras have no problems picking up things like ionized gas or plasma that the naked eye can't see. Not sure about his digital cam though.
From europe? God I hate socialism. Theres plenty of freeware firewalls and virus scanners. I don't have to pay for other peoples ignorance.

You just pay outrageous taxes on everything including blank cds and mp3 players. Little difference.

Please explain how a windows box with minimal services and the latest updates is any less secure than your average redhat box? I'm waiting.
