I graduated college from a lesser known school a year ago and got two offers. First was 54k, second was 56k. I was a c++ developer and could have taken the first job doing c++, but I thought I would go with the Java developer because the workers seemed a little more enthusiastic and happy to be there.
Haven't regretted it at all. By the way, I live and work in Huntsville, AL so the cost of living is fairly low. Our job and housing markets have also been steady due to the amount of work on Redstone Arsenal.
My numbers were right in line with that of the article, but my experience may not be typical.
I'm a firm believer that all tablets and smart phones need some kind of a pullout keyboard. Would it really be that hard to incorporate a pull-out keyboard with the most basic keys (numbers, letters, shift, space...)? It could even have smaller keys than a real keyboard and be practical. I don't want to be cornered into using a touch screen or stylus for extensive note taking and such.
My dvr or on demand recording get interrupted while i'm watching them with a weather update. I'm not positive, but I don't thing the dvr will record a emergency broadcast because it isn't on the channel that you are watching, it switches you to a special emergency channel for a brief second.
Do you really think all of these unemployed people are going to the hospitals with no insurance?
I live in north Alabama (I know, ha ha) and we have one of highest unemployment rates in the nation. Hospitals are laying off nurses. The ones that aren't getting laid off are having hours cut back, vacations cut back, 401k dropped, pay cuts, no raises, etc.
My mother-in-law is an RN with 15+ years of experience and has seen all of these things(except being laid-off) happen to her. Many of her co-workers are being laid off also. It may not be happening in every state. But I imagine all of the states with high unemployment rates are seeing similar results.
I live in Alabama and kudzu is awful. I tried kudzu jelly once in an Alabama History class in school and it was bitter and tasteless.
Whoever came up with that idea was just trying too hard to find a good use. The stuff is hard to kill also. Basically have to burn it and keep burning it until you've gotten down to the root.
Her mother, coming from a part of the world where many venomous snakes are found, is so terrified of all snakes that she cannot even bear to see them on TV.
Yet she still loves to handle the trouser snakes... sorry, I had to do it.
this is outrageous. Please, don't fall victim to this EA marketing ploy. It is unethical and EA should be shunned for this.
Please, as a show of unity against this marketing scheme, please send me all of the $200 checks. Once I have received a substantial amount of them I will take these checks and show EA where to shove them. It's the only way we can get our point across.
If you didn't get a check and would like to make a donation to the cause, please feel free to send that to me as well.
You are forgetting one of the most revolutionary games that changed the face of console gaming(okay maybe not), SEAMAN.
It was the game where you raised the fish and interacted with them using the included microphone. I remember buying that game and beating the shit out of those fish.
My little brother also got a note sent home to our parents from his second grade teacher about discouraging him from talking about his semen. Hilarity ensued.
They should, however, be picking beta testers at the edge of that distance, on streets with lots of contention, with crappy PCs, with ropey old DSL modems, etc., so that they can iron out problems.
You also don't start your beta test with those crappy situations, especially when it is a completely new service. That's why you often start with an alpha or a small closed beta.
It's much easier to find the problems when you start with a small set of potential problems and work your way down to those users running a 28k modem on windows 95.
They sent a friend of mine a booklet and asked him to fill it in. To me that's a waste of time and space.
Not only that, but a waste of money. They sent me a booklet like that with a 5 dollar bill inside. I promptly pocketed the money and trashed the booklet. Take that, marketing execs.
After seeing how Tivo and Netflix recommendations go sometimes, I'm not sure I want a game changing itself because it thinks I know what I want. Not to knock Tivo or Netflix, they are accurate alot, but sometimes they are way off base.
Besides, if it knew what I really wanted, everything would just end up having tits.
I just think it is a problem with blockbuster game spacing.
It seems like every year, until this one, there have been some really amazing games that get pushed past there Christmas season schedule. This means that people buy some games around Christmas, and they have some choices for great games in the Spring and Summer. This year, nothing worth paying full price for is coming out until fall/winter.
Now someone will be able to track down the location of my precious kitty cat, Scruffles.
I must never take pictures of him again. /sarcasm

Did you play the game and see the movie? Not even close to based on the movie.
Yeah, it had batman and joker in it, but that is about where the similarities stopped. If anything it was based on the comics.
If you are referring to arkham asylum, that was never a movie.
Linux elitests are jerks, news at 11.
Which is why these things would be perfect for a rock concert. Set a few throughout the crowd and time them to the bass drum. Hardcore!
Now I didn't rtfa, the summary, or the comment I am replying to. But I really don't feel good about whatever all of this is referring to.

So much for all that, huh?
So... there were no adult games for the atari?
You've obviously never played Custer's Revenge
It was a pornographic game where you chased an Pocahontas around with your dick out trying to screw her.
Huntsville is the exception, and luckily where I currently live. Have a job on Redstone.
The surrounding areas are struggling.

GAMERS UNITE!

Show me which of these girls in skirts isn't wearing underwear.
Then, show me where to hide so I can take pics with my iPhone.

analyzed survey data from 552 adults in the Seattle-Tacoma area.
I think this is the most telling part of the survey. Doesn't Seattle have one of the highest suicide rates in the nation?
Of course the gamers are depressed, everyones depressed. Until this has a wider sample, I think this is bunk.
The only problem with this is that you can drop a textbook, pick it up and it is still fine.
Try dropping a netbook on the floor. I'm not sure I would want to be in the rental business.

I don't understand how this could be a cure for cancer.
I do see how it would possible cure some of the side effects from radiation treatment for cancer.
Or would it just nullify the radiation treatment altogether?
