What does Windows explorer do if you drag music files onto it. Do you get an audio CD? (honestly I'm asking cause I don't know) If so, what formats, does it handle ogg?
It asks you what you wanna do. It handles any format you want, as long as you have installed the codecs.
Now lets see you drag a bunch of video files into explorer(it's family stuff you recorded with your cellphone right? surely i'm not talking about piracy here) Do you get something that you can pop into your DVD player and have a reasonable expectation that it will actually play?
Works flawlessly. Again, it asks you what you want. You can choose to burn it like a data disc or a DVD.
Mixed mode discs? Finalized or un-finalized RWs?
Works, and works. All right from a simple explorer window. You know, windows gets a lot of flak for stupid UI but their UI is probably the most simple and easy to use.
In that one, rats were deprived of water and were given it only if they were able to synchronize their brains together to complete a task. From there, Nicolelis essentiality turned these rats into processors.
How can they expect poor thirsty rats to sync their brains?
Chrome on android is a horrible piece of software. Samsung has done wonders with the 'Internet' browser on S6. It's the fastest browser on any mobile device, if you believe some reviewers. Use that instead of chrome. The only advantage chrome has is the sync with desktop chrome.
Slashdot is always there for me. I got lost for a while in reddit. Now I'm back for good. Even though the news is old here, the interactions are less frequent but it's still interesting.
This is the real problem, in both reddit's and/.'s case. These 'business-people' have no idea of how a community works, what free-speech actually is and they cannot understand any behavior that is not selfish. The very fact that people are ready to volunteer time and effort into a community they love is confusing to them. They think that people like this are idiots. They hate them. They just want to monetize the phenomenon as much as they can and get out of this crap.
BZZZZT! Comparing a 20 year old OS to bleeding edge Linux distros is stupid. Try the Win 10 (almost nightly) builds and experience an install experience than any Linux build.
Nexus 7 only allows you to delay the update. But after a hard cut-off date, the update *will* happen. I learned that the hard way when I didn't allow it to update and it turned on cellular data and downloaded a gigabyte of updates that didn't amount to any improvements, and charging me money too.

This is truly tragic. A multi-process firefox will make me ditch chrome so fast that google's ai bots won't know what hit 'em.
Sadly, though, while/. is a shadow of its former self, it's still better than any of the alternatives.
I do agree that/. is a shadow of its former self, but I can't quite put my finger on it. What makes it less fun now than ~2-5 years ago? As long as I avoid the occasional switch to beta, the site itself seems fine. Although maybe the comments have dried up a bit. But I dunno why.
It's not even working right now: https://i.imgur.com/Rgb73Hf.gi...
Sourceforge is blocked by chrome and ublock and everybody sane. Stop using it.
Real life is the highest fidelity 3D simulation!
I'm stealing this for my sig.
Voat.co is where it's at.

Because implementing and supporting an extra option is not free of cost. That translates to a competitive burden, no matter how small.
What's wrong with gedit?

It's not similar at all. This one has a fucking core i7. Macbook does not compare at all.
Chrome on my brand-spankin-new Galaxy S6 edge

It's almost like a weather prediction service that tells you the exact opposite of the day's weather with 100% accuracy.
Dice hates its userbase

my start... panel... thing... completely hosed itself for no apparent reason
You're clicking it wrong.

Finally, Windows finally supporting SSH is a good thing.
Note that apart from a blog post, we haven't seen a single action to confirm this. It might as well turn out to be hot air.

Glad to hear that NASA can still do science properly!
It's youtube, you can just click on it and it'll play. Why do you wanna use another player?

Amen. I really need a solid alternative to Chrome, that's all.
I even read a news article stating "NASA's Falcon 9 fails at launch".
But if the capacity is double, won't each cycle last double the time? So 400 days.
4GB RAM on a dev system is seriously deficient.
