For instantiating a UI at runtime, take a look at QFormBuilder. It is in the QtDesigner library, which does compile as a shared library, and therefore is LGPL friendly. I'm not exactly sure why they have both QFormBuilder and QUiLoader, since they both do the same thing but provide differing interfaces.

I'd recommend checking out the latest version of Qt. (4.4.0 was recently released, and now even includes a WebKit widget.) As of version 4.1, I think, it includes a module called QtScript which is a full JavaScript interpreter that can integrate very easily with your C++ code. You don't have to have a GUI to use Qt -- it is split into several libraries and you can easily omit the GUI libraries, and just use QtScript, if you'd like. Plus it has an excellent API that is a real pleasure to work with. Not to mention cross platform!

Hmm, this sounds like an advertisement -- they're not paying me, I swear! I am just a very satisfied user (been using Qt for more than 5 years).

Really? You can build me this machine for under $1000:

    • Dual Quad-Core Xeon (8 cores total) @2.8 GHz
    • 2 GB of 800 MHz FB-DIMMs
    • 320 GB Hard Drive
    • Double-layer DVD burner
    • Video card w/ two Dual-Link DVI outputs
    • FireWire 800
    • Dual Gigabit Ethernet
    • Bluetooth 2.0
    • A good case (i.e. it won't scrape my knuckles every time I open it up)
    • Keyboard / mouse

    And don't forget the software...

    • UNIX Operating System with a good GUI (and, no, sorry Linux is not quite there yet.)
    • Backup software
    • Video editing and DVD authoring software
    • Audio editing and tracking software

That's what you get in a mac for $3000 ($2799 to be exact). You're telling me you can build a machine just like that for under $1000? Seriously? What, are you planning to steal the CPUs? Those ALONE would cost more than $1000 on Newegg.

Hate the sin: If God hated the sin and not the sinner then when sinners came before it for judgement (according to the bible) it would cast the sin to hell and not the people (souls) themselves. Because lets face it if God existed then he could do anything, including seperating sin from sinners. And if God really loved everyone then it would do that for them.

I don't post often, and usually stay out of these arguments/discussions, but I just had to reply to you. In fact you've hit the nail on the head! "Separating sin from sinners" is EXACTLY what God has done for us, and offers to everyone who will accept it. This is truly the essence of Christianity. Jesus died on the cross* to accomplish that. The fact of the matter is, lots of people do not want to be separated from their sin, and God allows them the freedom to make that choice.

    * You may ask, if God is all powerful, then why go through all this business of dying? It's actually because in addition to being all powerful, God is perfectly just -- and someone had to take the punishment we all deserve, or else He would no longer be just. See Romans 3:21-26.

I've never used the Sennheiser earbuds, but I'm assuming they're of the same type as the Sonys the parent post referred to -- they are different from "normal" earbuds like the type that would've come with your Samsung player, in that they are designed more like earplugs. They have a silicone piece that sticks into your ear and makes a seal, actually blocking out the ambient noise. Just putting them in, with nothing playing, is like putting in earplugs. Everything goes quiet. Then you can listen to your music at a lower volume, because it doesn't need to compete with the outside sound.
